R1, R2, and R3 are all buttons on your PS3 controller. There are also L versions of each.
As for the thread, as long as you have access to the account that uses the code, you can put the downloadable content on up to 5 different consoles. -

r1 = region 1 (AMERICA)
r2 = region 2 (Europe)
r3 = region 3 (ASIA)
Or vice-versa. -
