Stuck on loading screen

Prototype keeps getting stuck at the loading screen on the 'Wheel of chance' mission. As soon as I try to enter the building it goes to the loading screen and just stays there forever. I've tried it on 2 Xboxes (one is 3 years old, and the other one Is just 3 weeks old), and both are having the same problems in exactly the same spot. I've also tried 3 different disks, and I've installed it numerous times to my harddrive by now. I was hoping that starting a completely new game would somehow get me past that point, but it didn't help either. What can I do? It seems like an awesome game, but if I can't even get past that point in the game, then it was a really expensive 45 minutes of fun...

its probably the disc! check for scratches on it, and try to return it for a new one...

    Re: Stuck on loading screen
The freezing on loading screen has happened to me from the moment I purchased this game new. At first I thought it was odd and was able at times to get past the dreaded "dirty disc" error. The game plays fine once past the initial loading cutscenes if I can get that far. I also attempted several times to install to hard drive with no luck and get the same dirty disc errors. So I then thought bad disc but it plays fine on my older Falcon chipset 360 and installs to the hard drive here as well. Then I thought maybe bad optical drive on my Jasper chipset xbox but ALL other games play fine and I've been playing 70+ games new and used including new games like Batman, Red Faction and more with no issues. Also when I am able to get into the game it plays fine and no issues or freezing. I have tried clearing HD Cache and no change here either. I must admit I was stumped UNTIL I played the new Wolfenstein and oddly enough the same thing happened. Kinda odd how both of these are published by Activision? So I went on a forum and google search and oddly enough I am not alone. There are many other people experiencing similar problems with BOTH of these games. So what are we left to do? Nothing until a fix is issued...perhaps it's the new Jasper chipset with Activision games? Perhaps it's the manufacturing process?

One thing for sure that I and other having similar issues might consider is that future games like Guitar Hero 5 and COD Modern Warfare 2 are coming soon and there is a more than good chance these issues still persist. I for one am going to rent any future Activision games before I spend $60+ for a game I can't even play on the machine I want to play it on. Yes, I could play them on my old system but I should be able to play them on ANY system and from what I've seen on these boards and other places Activision is not taking this issue seriously and I'm just glad that I haven't sent my xbox in for service, pay in excess of $100 to have it fixed when ALL other optical games except a few Activision games play fine..

@zippyzipT7: Just a thought, but what happens when you swap the harddrives from your consoles? If it suddenly starts playing after all, then it probably is a caching problem of some sort.
After I cleared my cache on my Falcon and on my Xenon (which I just sold a couple of days ago) it played just fine. I actually finished the game last sunday and it was really worthwile doing. Wolfenstein also plays just fine on my Falcon, but I didn't have the chance to try it out on my Xenon before I sold it.

E-Vix:Thanks for your suggestions but I did clear my cache as suggested and it made no difference. It still freezes on my Jasper chipset and as it always has plays and installs to HD on my Falcon chipset. Wolfenstein does the EXACT same thing. When I swap the hard drives our friends at Microsoft won't allow it to play on another console other than the one it was installed on. I have tried everything short of an update from Activision. Gonna have the disc buffed..who know maybe a manufacturing defect could be fixed long enough for an HD install after buffing. If not, it's off to ebay and caution on my part when it comes to Activision titles in the meantime.

As a side note: Buffing disc did not fix the problem either...renting a copy of Prototype tonite and we'll see it that helps eliminate a manufacturing defect?

Rental disc did the exact same thing on the exact same system..dirty disc errors from the start.
