But what exactly do they mean by "unranked"? This still isn't clear. The community means one thing - it means progressive ranking. But AVTI/IW/SG seem to mean something else, because Spec Ops has an internal progressive ranking system, but is "unranked".

I asked Mark Rubins, executive Producer for MW3, what they mean by "ranked" and "unranked":

ranked - streaming live stats to Elite

unranked - no streaming of live stats to Elite

So, the terminology needs clarifying. More importantly, the "real" question needs answering: Can we progressively rank up on dedicated servers? It doesn't matter if it is an "internal" ranking system like Spec Ops. We just need some way to get at the weapons without having to play matchmaking on P2P.

It won't do any good but I signed anyway. I honestly can't believe they've gone with IW.net again after all the complaints and problems it caused, it's like they want the PC version to suck for some reason.

iwNET was a piece of crap on PC and I think MW3 will be the same experience for you guys.

Let's hope IW sort's this out before the game launches.

i am re-posting this all over the place, we need to get this sorted asap no dedi ranked severs just another knife in the back for pc gamers from IW

I hope they do NOT bring back RANKED dedicated servers.... The unranked dedicated server is DEFINATELY the way to go... Anyone who wants RANKED dedicated servers wants them for one thing only.. BOOSTING.   Log in to Black ops and search for core game modes, and what comes up, 9000 nuketown servers and maybe 10-15 normal servers... or Log into CoD4MW and search core and you get thousands of shipment servers with 60+ people... Now with UNRANKED there won't be any reason for these retarded servers.  So you can all thank yourselves for not getting RANKED dedi servers... GOOD JOB IW.. good to know you guys ARE listening.

I  agree but you do  more than just a petition.The only way to do some damage is  to get a large amount infact most of the pc community  to just stop buyiing any of there products  .This is the only way you are going to hurt companies this big.We have to make a stand .That is how changes occur!!!!!!!

They should be ranked dedicated servers in this game,this is just a way to promote elite.Just goes to show why all of the news on servers was not announced before now.

Just a question can we all be serious for at least a second and admit that full server control to the admins was better,easy and more open to the community. we shoudn't be bargaining with the developers that have f**ked up my favourite pc games since call of duty 4 / World at war. The whole pc community should stand as 1 and make our voices heard to one of the most en-grossing company's to date. Making patitions and twitter responses are not going to be heard by these tyrants we need to take it up steps to make our point get across to these people.
