Currently Being ModeratedHow would everyone feel about a across the board console ban on PS3/Xbox for Hackers/Modders?
There has to be support for games that prevents hacking & modding. There's only one valid reason for not wanting the Devs to devote resources to stopping cheating and that's obvious.
As for older games, there needs to be a disclaimer somewhere that says "After x amount of time, this game will no longer be supported"
There are no such disclaimers for a couple of reasons.
1 - the games are still being supported. Proof is with MW1 ... I played it last week and was stunned and disappointed to see that Scavenger had been removed from the game. The good news as that there were far fewer hackers, but the hackers were still there.
2 - the games are still supported because they are still being sold with the promised feature of online multiplayer capability
3 - there is no disclaimer to let new buyers of the game know when support ends. That means they have a legal obligation to provide support.
People can knock BO all they want, but the reality is very clear: the ONLY reason people are willing to give IW a second chance after the fiasco that was MW2 is because BO took a step backwards and addressed issues that were long overdue to be addressed. Don't get me wrong, as intended MW2 was a precedent setting, very fun and exciting game. But the Quality Assurance issues were the worst the industry has seen in a long time.

WaW was never enjoyable in the first place, and CoD4 is like 4 years old, you aren't going to get an enjoyable online experience anyway, with the 100 people that play. The campaign is the only reason to play an old call of duty (excluding Mw2 because the sequel isn't out) Games have **** like that happen, the fact that it was fixed is what matters. That's like complaining about WW2 now, it's over. There is no need to waste resources to maintain a game 4 years old.
Who said anything about W@W or CoD4? And what's with you spouting off opinions and dressing them up as fact? "Campaign is the only reason to play an old CoD game" is possibly the dumbest thing I have heard today, and I've been on these forums for a few hours so that's really saying something. I can get on and play a game of CoD4 with some friends and still have a really good time.
MW2 had hacked lobbies, infinite care packages, an instant kill javelin glitch, dual 1887 sniping and knifing from 10 ft away to name a few problems worth mentioning. These are the things we don't want to return in MW3. This is why we mention it. If you forget about the problems of the past, it's bound to happen again. Which is also why people still talk about WWII.
Ignoring a problem is worse than denying a problem, at least if you deny it others will still hear about it. If everyone just ignored the problems with MW2 they never would have been fixed and you couldn't get on here and say over and over again that it all worked out in the end.

I hope so also. Thats why it was/is a plus that ACTI had them implement/monitor these new security measures through BlackOps.

There is alot of people that play that game and would be more leaving Black Ops if they were fixed. Though Hope Scoping has tainted CoD4 even more.

its really sad to read so many comments wich says like: it will be no tpossible to ban cheaters/hackers the way they deserve to if they use that crap on mp. in case of cod4: there are still more than enough lobbys with players u read that "got infected by xxxxx" well hope is the last thing that will die so i try to think positive to mw3 that they hopefully have learned from their crappy online security from mw1 and 2.
a good idea to me would be (even not possible to make) to give a rare count of players (best would be some guys from iw itself) a special status like a operator in a community to kick ppl who cheat or mod... but right there are too many ppl playing the game to be able to make the count of those cheating kids down to zero.
well maybe we will be alive still when a game with no cheaters hackers modders or whatever else is out there playing will come out. *dream*
but no matter how bad or good it will be i cant wait for the 8.11.

I'm so ready for it. They are coming out with another launch trail. Excuse the term [to keep us messing our pants]. They have said they have a security team that will help monitor these things now. Also that they relied on the security of the consoles more than they should have. I cant blame them for that. It was a learniing curve that sometimes we all have to go through. Yet we can still hope that they get SUPER tough on those reported and break this cycle.
