COD has been going more and more noob friendly since they keep trying to break their own sales records every year and make more money.
thats how activision rolls, look what happened to WoW once they bought blizzard or whatever, D3 was all money hungry, real money auction house with them taking 20% from every transaction.
now with CoD, SMGs are ALWAYS the best guns available, even introduced another SMG with the first DLC, because they are the easiest and most used guns, need to appeal to the masses reguardless of how it takes your overall product right, because more sales = more $$$, who cares how many it pisses off!!
It didn't work with World of Warcraft at all.
Subscription are down 50%.
Who wants to do instances and one shot everything, they handed gear out like candy.
Now thier is no replay value.
Same thing is happening here...
I would love to see the DLC number for this game and MW3.
I would fire everybody.
I actually like the score streak system vs. the support killstreak. it made it ok to die 40 times as long as you got 18 kills and when you have teammates just worried about 18 kills you end up suffering. however with the score streak you are forced to be better overall players
Much, much, MUCH more noob friendly. Essentially you pick up an SMG and sprint around clustered maps at high speeds--little else. MW in my opinion, the original of course, was far more competitively paced/balanced.
Pass if competitive is what you're looking for.
leaning more toward noob friendly but it's hard to say since the MP is unbearable
In honesty it IS the most competitve COD ever, BUT for the wrong reasons.
They have dumbed down the skill level to a point where a person that has NEVER played a COD game before can pick up a gun and go on an absolute rampage due to certain perk setups, scorestreaks, attachments. I can GUARANTEE you these players that started with MW2, BO, or MW3 that if they played COD 4, W@W, or any of the previous games they would struggle to the point of saying that those games were garbage.
I started with BO1, went back and played CoD4 and went 33-6 first game of TDM, then played WaW and finished about the same there (then could only get into hacked lobbies). They seemed much easier to me than the latest CoDs. Only one I struggled with was MW2, couldn't move without being tubed.
OMA and a tube.. the worst things to ever be put in the same game ever...
From my limited experience playing MW2 I have to agree. One game of Dom on the wasteland map some guy just sat there with a tube pointed at B flag from across the map (obviously knew his angles) and kept tubing until he got a nuke then the game ended.
If I'd been playing CoD then I doubt I'd still be playing it now.
Black Ops II is more noob friendly because the extreme speeds of the gameplay eliminate almost all chances of skilled gameplay.
it is neither, it is random, exploiters will dominate sure, HIPFIRE ALL THE THINGS!
Hillarious isnt it. They bring in this "competitive" agenda, and add all these tools....
... Then on the gameplay side of things, make it the lowest skill rewarding game in the entire franchise.
Not sure how people can believe it's "more noob friendly", this is by far one of the most tactical CoD games ever. Of course pub matches are always going to be a **** show, and are implemented on the "for fun" basis. Saying that you can pick up an smg and hipfire away is a complete misunderstanding of competative play. Having played in numerous competive tournaments including WCG and MLG, I can confidently say that the league section of matchmaking is right on track.
I have always questioned myself this?
I hit tenth pretty quickly compared to older cods, and found my self more competitive, but often found being in my zone, I get killed by someone who's talking full advantage of the over powered equipment/gun; which is very fustrating
Noob friendly. Their idea of a competitive skill based environment involves target finders. Nuff said.
Skill based matchmaking is a joke. To prove it, I will 100% guarantee you that none of the Master rank players will play solo and depend on the precious skill based matchmaking to give them a solid team.
No offense to anyone, but often times I find that those defending CoD titles have an agenda in mind. (ie. Commentator, wannabe MLG, mod, etc.)
It is neither really, I never considered CoD competitive to begin with since it is just a game and nothing more, not even a sport to me. So never will be considerd competitive ever in my eyes. Anything that just requires wiggling thumbs and pressing buttons is not compettive and never really can be. Especially anything that is played over internet where connection quality and type have a huge deciding factor on the outcome of a match. Yet alone the factor of people with or without headsets, hdtv's, those that use modded controllers or the xim adapter.
Only and I stress ONLY in a lan envrionment where everyone has exactly the same equipment can any sort of ability really be tested or seen. Everything else is just a complete joke to try and compare it with.
Over the internet you are only as competitive as your teammates or your enemy plays, for you can try to be as competitive as you wish, but if the other team is nor or your teammates are not, then nothing really matters and never will.
And there is no way that they will ever be able to get all that play this game to take it serious or play competitive ever. So there is no reason to even worry or think or even consider doing so ever.
Sure it's competitive, if you really didn't care you wouldn't have over 9k posts.
I have 9k posts because I post a lot not because I care if teh game is competitive or not which I do not. I play for fun and not some stat such as k/dr or w/lr. The number of posts I have is because it is very easy to reply to 10-20 posts in just an hour or so of time when I feel like it. Do that for the few years I have been here on these forums and you can eaisly get 9k posts.
There's no advantage to firing automatic weapons in bursts, so it's definately spray noob friendly.
BO2 has larger learning curve than previous games. But it is just as easy to play as previous games. Every new COD game has a learning curve.
The hardest thing I had to adjust to was the lag and hit detection ![]()
Being a step behind Lag
My bullets do not register Lag
I can get shot around walls Lag
Don't get me wrong, I adjust to all these things and even use them to my advantage.
This game is garbage complainer friendly they only seem to listen to the garbage complainers the second someone has a legit suggestion they ignore it.
LOL.. legit suggestion... there has been very few suggestions on these forums if any ever. Just those that complain or want the game tailored to how they want to play instead.
