when i play with my clan i easily get about 1st or 2nd on the leaderboard but i also run around with some friends using funny weapons like the smaw w/ dragunov. people w/ high k/d will rag & say youre bad, quit this game, but then when they lose they shutup lol

My K/D is 1.63 and dropping because I am trying to unlock the Bulletproof Title by deflecting 50,000 bullets. So far, I have 14,000. By the time I get to 50,000 my K/D will probably be somewhere around 1.0.

Lol I would give you all the 'helpful answer' mark if I was allowed because you all make good points and all made me lol
Thanks for reminding me that I shouldn't care about stats at all because there isn't a fun/rage ratio lol noone can quantify how much you are enjoying playing apart from yourself. It's typical that last night I was playing in a party and we got completely dominated by a clan, so I jumped on the mercenary playlist and played really well, just to completely disprove my OP even further lol Anyway was interesting to hear your guys thoughts, cheers

Just to give you an update on my K/D due to my quest to unlock the Bulletproof Title, I only need to delfect 7,000 more bullets.
I followed the advice of @irielegend from this thread: http://www.callofduty.com/thread/200439639?tstart=30
So far, my K/D has not dropped as bad as I thought as I am still 1.5 and not near 1.0.

In these games KDR is a joke. Give more realistic damage simulation, then theres a reason to care. For that matter, stop making noobs fight without any decent gear. I don't understand why higher ranks get the better gear? "Unlock stuff" mode should be campaign or spec ops- multiplayer should be balanced. If you want a fun game worth noting your KDR, try Counter Strike

Because noobs have not yet earned the better gear and guns?
That's a key point of the game - to get good without depending on gear, kill streaks, guns, etc. Once you do get good, then add the "good" stuff and you get to really have fun.

CoD is one of those games where if the other team has one solid player, he can single handedly control the entire game. This is because of killstreaks. Not only does this player kick ass with his gun, but he always supplies his team with UAVs, which makes it easier for teammates to get kills, and air support, which means that the said player can basically transcend the entire map.
Killstreaks allow an already skilled player to completely control the entire sway of a game. When I play with just two of my friends, it is much easier to win team deathmatch games. But that's how it's always been, even since CoD4.
But yeah, i care about k/d. I quit CoD for awhile for Halo, I had a 1.12 k/d then. But i just started playing again these past two weeks and now it's a 1.50. I do care about k/d. But in CoD 4 i barely even noticed it, same with WaW, which have the most kills and highest k/d. Granted i was in middle school during the periods those games were out, so i only have about 70,000 kills if you add both those games up. but i have positive k/d's in both of them. good players have positive k/d's, that's just how it is.

In all honesty, I really dont care. Im at a 2.10 right now, its been steadily going up since my account got hacked and the prick dropped me to a 1.53. Since then its been going up regularly. My TDM KD is at a 2.40 as of yesterday.
The thing that absolutely irritates me is the matchmaking system. 90% of the time I play, i get put with the WORST players in the lobby, all negative KD's,. while the other team gets all the good players. I guess the game thinks my KD will balance out the **** players? Obnoxious. I dont play with any friends much since none of my friends play anymore, but when i did i did worse because i couldnt get all the kills like i do when the genius balancing team system makes it so i have to try my ass off every game to win.

I don't play for KDR. Never have. I play to win and the strategy I use is very simple: stay alive.
I'm glad you acknowledge, though what a lot of COD veterans have tried to say in these forums for years - KDR does not tell the whole story. A player who never plays solo and has a 2.0 kdr is going to get owned by a 1.75 player that never plays in a party.
There is a down side to getting a high kdr lone wolf player into an organized party - the slaughter is usually so bad that you simply cannot finish matches. That's one of the main reasons I don't play in parties. When I do party up with half decent players? Ugh. It is ugly.
Anyway. So yeah, I go through a learning curve with these games. Since BO1 I start out strong, take a nose dive, then ultimately build my way back up. I just went through lowest point in my BO2 curve a few weeks ago - but only played tonight for the first time in as many weeks.
So when you look at my stats, understand that at one point in BO1 and MW3 my kdr and wlr was in the 1.50 area and the 45% to 50% area. Also, until BO2 I would use a limited selection of guns to get to the highest prestige. Usually I would rely upon only one. Nonetheless, you can look and see - I generally have a wide selection of weapon use with sniper rifles being my least used guns. And, again ... I play lone wolf.
