Who is really going to get the wii u because im going to get at launch....first game im going for is ghost recon online but is maybe theres a chance teyarch ports it to the wii u....i mean ovibiously the wii u is more powerful that the other consles by 50% or less
Day 1 for me. The next COD will most likely be on it.
No, i think the that the wii U will fail and get the same support as wii..
well i mean it might be a while till people start buying it but who knows?....its a cheap system to so easyer on your wallet
Cheap system? it will cost more then an box or ps3 at the moment, nintendo is making a mistake, since hardcore gamers want a hardcore console, and nintendo makes one... but forgot that the xbox and ps3 at this moment are cheaper.
hmmmm tooshayyy....well im going to get ps3 and wii u at launch and tell you guys if its cool

I will wait for you ![]()
silent,
I agree...I really think Nintendo has its work cut out for them. I just don't think there is any way that Nintendo can attract the xbox/ps3 community to their platform. Mostly, because of perception issues. It won't matter what the specs are for the Wii U, the hardcore audience (whatever that means) will not switch IMHO. Instead, they will wait for the nextgen consoles from MS and Sony.
I have to say, Nintendo's marketing strategy for this new console is vague at the very best. What are they trying to do? The wii sold 90M consoles (holy crap!), but to who? It wasn't the "hardcore gamer". Will those people who bought the console, want to upgrade and if so, why? I think Nintendo is having a big identity crisis right now... Are they the console for the casual gamer or the hardcore gamer? Are they the family console, or the the gritty console?

Cute. Same attitude people had about the Wii when it was coming out. I'll be waiting to see your apologetic post simply stating how wrong you were.
I'm taking a wait and see attitude. Ghost recon does look really good but if Nintendo doesn't take hacking seriously this time around, I will pass on the Wii U. I'm going to wait around 6 months or so and if I see if the wii hacking sites talk about gecko, homebrew, etc...on the Wii U. If they have the ability to load gecko on the Wii U, and Nintendo does nothing about it.. I'm out. I'm not going to pay 350 bucks for Hackfest, part 2.
I also want to wait and see how publishers like Konami, Activision, EA support the Wii U. I don't care what these publishers say in press conferences regarding their support for Nintendo. Show me the titles on the shelves...anything other than that is just talk and PR B.S.
tooshayyyyyy sir.
There is a rumor that acitvision isnt gonna support the wii U.
yea thats why they said there hiring to put COD ON A NEW CONSLE....also they said that there going to support it for about a year or so to see how it goes!!....yes i know i i did my homework son!
stockton,
You got a link about activision hiring developers? I did see a job req. for a product manager for Activision and in the description it noted the Wii U. Of course, it didn't say what title but it was encouraging...
There will be COD on wii u though....i mean people these days just like to hate so hard these days like its there job
Google is your friend, good sir.
I'm gonna wait and see if it gets decent 3rd party support. At first I was gonna buy it for sure, but after I saw that Battlefield 3, Resident Evil 6 and Crysis 3 aren't coming to the Wii U, I'm a bit sceptical about the 3rd party support. As much as I love Nintendo's franchises, I'm not gonna buy a console that's 90% filled with shovelware games again.
I will definately be getting the Wii U. Most likely won't get the next CoD, the only reason I bought BO in the first place was that there was nothing else left, MW3... I honestly expected it to be way better than BO.... but look what we got here ![]()
I'm planning to wait for some reviews to be released before making the decision. Maybe the price will go down a bit while I'm waiting too :D
not me its just going to go the same way as the wii............no one really plays it well i dont lol
I'll get it for two reasons.
1. Smash Bros.
2. The tablet controller is what is needed to bring MMOs to console. I'm sure many developers will jump on this.
***** I originally posted this on a different thread so the content may not exactly fit this exact thread, but I saved this for Wii U conversations because not many people saw this, and I'll be getting the U not exactly release date, but I hope before Christmas I got money saved up*****
Well from what I've heard, well first off Wii U will be more powerful than ps360, it's a fact. How much more powerful? I can't pinpoint the sources, but I know I've heard these. The extreme is 50% more powerful than Xbox, but just about every developer working on upcoming titles have said it is better than Xbox by a fair margin.
That aside, the tech specs may or may not be remarkable, but if trends follow then the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be more powerful than the Wii U, not for certain, but that would be following the trend. This won't exactly bother me because I don't exactly see how much more gaming can evolve, graphically I think the limit has just about been reached, and RAM and other stuff will be added, but I can't quite see how game developers need much more RAM than currently, I can see that being a bad assumption, but I don't see a need for more RAM. I only see improvements in online capabilities and connectivity which I believe will be the "X-Factor" of the Wii U, that and third party support. One thing though that the U has for it is affordability.
According to an article I read there was a source very close to Nintendo quoted saying the price of the Wii U. The console is $300 and the controller is $50. My terrific math skills gave me a total of $350 when bought at a store, assuming the controller comes with the console. That is very affordable especially when I see those PS4s and 720s being nice and expensive. The U will have more appeal for that alone, I promise.
Ultimately though, all of us on here make up a small fraction of consumers. What I say isn't exactly going to be what happens, nor with what any of us say. This is especially true since we hardly know a darn thing about this console. Wii U could be a lasting hit or it could be a flop. It all depends on the online interactivity and the third party support from what I can see. Also better support for a CCP type controller. Also if we know little about the U then we know next to nothing about the PS4 and 720. They could be a new movement in gaming or they could flop. We don't know, only time will tell.
Well yea your right
I'm gona get a Ps3. this community is full of hackers and the WiiU will get the same bullshit.
I plan to preorder it. If it sucks I'll sell it and buy something else, but I see it being a great success.
I will never order it. Spent too much money on Wii games, only to have my Wii broken and borrowing my friend's extra Wii. Lol
I will buy it. I've bought all the other Nintendo systems, why not now?
I predict that the new Wii will be the companies downfall. The gigantic tablet controller is nothing more than a nifty gimmick. The only way it will succeed is if they at least give people the opportunity to use a proper controller for a lot of cross platform games that require it. The classic controller pro was somewhat good but it REALLY needs thumstick buttons added to it.
Wii sales took a nose dive and the majority of people who bought them don't even touch the system any more.
I hope that nintendo allows developers to release some games that don't need the tablet controller and use the CCP instead. I'd hate to miss out on cross platform games just because developers don't want to put extra effort to do something special with the tablet controller.
I might......
