Whats with the 4 bars down to 1 in almost every match?

Nearly every match i have played today has started with 90% of us on 4 bar signal then halfway through some stay on 4 bars when others drop to 1 and cant move. then jump back upto 4 bars and the others who where on 4 bars end up on 1 and cant move? second time this has happened on this game. sort your game out! and for those who thinks its cuz i have rubbish internet then dont bother posting cuz im not a tard if my internet sucked i would be 1 barring all the time.

    Have had this happen on occasion, hasn't happened lately after recent updates.

     

    Have you tried at least resetting your modem and router? Could very well be all you need.

    I'm not sure why its happening, but out of ten to fifteen matches last night only about 2 did not do as you described. It was ridiculous.

    Yea, I never ran into this before. But I got on today after a week of not playing and it happened 2 games in a row

    Could be caused by a lot of things, lag switchers, specify ip udp flooders, packet delay tools, denial of service attack on you connection or just simply Aliens.

      No, it's absolutely none of those (I assure you as I'm a network buff myself).

        Yeah i saw this few times, its bad Host selection. The game doesn't picks the player with the best connection anymore as it was in the other CoD, now the player with the average connection from the lobby gets host and mostly its not the best choice. The Host couldn't handle so many connections at once or his internet is unstable, the Host downloads stuff on his pc in the background or throttles his connection somehow. Its bad and unstable Host selection. Host Migration should switch the Host but it doesn't. I don't get this either why Treyarch gives Host to people with average connection instead of the best in the lobby.

          Notice the host is 1 bar aswell, and they're always a four bar with the quality/current status of their connection reflected in other users connection (because they're host).  So with that being true your claim is indeed false.

            I get your point, yes it weird, Host should always be 4 bar. I don't know what it is, to me it seems like the Host has a crap internet connection but that doesn't explain why he has 1bar.

             

            A theory could be that the game tries to equal the playfield and because everyone else has a 1 bar, the game adds fake delay to the Host also, i don't know. The connection in this game is weird and unpredictable. Who ever designed the netcode for this game should be fired in my opinion.

              Oh dear lord is it unstable.  They should without question be fired.  It's as if Activision couldn't penny pinch enough, and decided to hire a college grad.  This is completely unacceptable for such an immensely popular game.

                The exact same thing happened to me last year with MW3. After i bought the first DLC the game has become absolutely unplayable for me, i can take a lot of BS but that was to much even for me and i quit playing the game. Seems like its MW3 all over again.

    router has been reset 3 times today its something to do with a hotfix it must be

    yea the past 2 days have beeen almost unplayable for me with this same problem, it goes from noticeable lag to horrid guy moves for about 5 seconds after you input a movement type lag.

     

    i feel like i'm playing with a handicap every game in the past 2 days.

     

    fix this treyarch.

      Its been like that for me for 2 weeks since i got home getting killed by a guy im looking at and never seeing him fire a bullet the lag is really bad even in league play

    Here's something new.. or at least to me. So I put the game on the shelf last week due to connectivity purposes, It has been 5 days since I've even put the game in my console. Tonight i was really bored so I said screw it, it can't be as bad as before..... hahaha.... Like I always do I decide to warm my reflexes by taking on 1v6 bots in custom games (I know better than to play local). To my suprise the damn player models and animations are even behind playing custom games. The killcams (which I know aren't 100% accurate had me not even shooting at times I was spraying my heart out!!! hahaha. Then to top it all off I'm ready for live play and I go to back out and bam... a black screen freeze with only the version number in the top right and would not let me back out of a custom game. Now usually when this game freezes I have to shut down and turn my xbox on again, but no, I ejected the game and my xbox stayed on and was fine once I took the game out. I'ts crazy how I just can't win with this game. Needless to say I'm officially done til the next update and i hope it comes quick or I'll be sayng cya to this game for good. Thanks for listening.

      The game lags even vs bots now? thats crazy.

       

      I haven't touched my game since the last double xp and have zero desire to play it till the next update comes out.

        It's not really lag, it's like the player models are not accurately aligned. I can't explain it. The killcams should be pretty accurate in custom games vs. bots I would think. I get killed on purpose just to check it out and what happened is not even close to what I saw, almost 1/2 a second behind. Now imagine the gameplay I'm getting in a pub lobby with 11 others all with different connections! I can't do it anymore. I really like the game but I'm not gonna let it get me mad anymore. I could care less about stats and mine are decent, It's just no fun when things don't operate the way they should.

          Fun is everything, without fun there is no point in continue playing the game.

           

          I love this game too, i like the graphics, the weapons, the scorestreaks, maps are ok and Treyarch put a lot of effort into the details of the game. But the connections and incredible huge number of ragequiters (mostly my own team) are driving me crazy.

           

          It has potential to be the best Call of Duty in my opinion, its up to Treyarch and how they manage the connections and player figure / hitbox synchronity.

    Same here, five games in a row entire lobby red bar. The other players who had mics said it's been that way for them as well....good times

     

    This is where the loyalists come in and say " no, it's your connection" the games fine.

      And this is where I say, i wish it was happening to them so they could see what we go through. I love the game when it plays smoothly, which isn't often.

    I too have had a couple lobbies do this. One of them was today. All players on my team except for one were one bar (he was 4) and the enemy team had all but 2 players (both 4 bar) on a 1 bar. I stuck it out for a few extra seconds after I realized what was going on, but after a couple of major bullcrap deaths I just left. No point in sticking it out if it's that bad.

    I never had this happen until tonight.  It was like the game would just randomly pick a couple of players at a time and red bar them.  Sometimes it would even red bar me but my roommate would be 4 bars.  Very odd behavior all the sudden.  Hopefully we something fixed or explained shortly.

    its been the same with me m8 for the last 2 days now i cant kill jack poo my k/d gone well bad so i have stop playing now till its fixed  its not my internet i have got 20mb upload and 120mb download ping at 12  as i test my internet speed 2 or 3 times a day.

    It's all in your head. Just get better at the game and quit blaming the 1 bar. Learn to play the game and adapt. Isn't that what we are constantly being told and supposed to accept? Why do I not see the regular 1000 plus post trolls in this post trying to blame the OP? Did activision give them the day off?

     

    I would guess the problem with the one bar is a magnified version of what we constantly experience that causes the 1 second behind delay that most experience on a daily basis. It has something to do with activisions or microsofts data/matchmaking servers.

    I have been having the same issue for a couple of weeks I even went and bought a new router thinking it was my service provider modem causing the issues. I have noticed that its not as bad during the hours there are less players on such as during the daytime.

    yeah that started happening to me today. i thought it was a lag swicher but then i noticed that only some of us in the lobby were affected. About two in their team and three on ours.

    I think it might be an ISP issue. Back in BO 1 ATT did somting on their end that made a connection to XBL impossible. It might be a connection issue on the ISPs end

    imguessing that treyarch think once they have bought the game who gives a crud wether its good or not as long as were making money. i say this everytime a new cod comes out "im not gunn buy it" but i always do i have recently started playing black ops again as it is my favourite of them all and has the least issues in my opinion.
