snipers and campers for me I hate them equally. Especially the ones that go 3-20 while you go 30-2 and both deaths are from that same person, that's really frustrating.

Neither. The worst ones are the whiners who dictates how others should play.

I second that.   It is not that hard to figure out how to get one or the other, but some people can't and cry about it.  But most games I play are about map control,  sometimes we are defending others we are attacking.

If somebody like to "camp" or snipe then thats fine,  let people play the way they want as long as they are not cheating who cares...

I love them both. They're the two basic food groups in COD. If you can't eat them for breakfast you must be some sort of vegan pacifist.

I hate both. I hate the campers because they are always there to ruin your streak no matter what. Sniping depends on what gun they are using. If they are using the semi auto sni-per and fire 5 shots and miss the first 4, that really gets me mad as they have no skill at all. If they are using the DSR, i dont get mad as much as I do with the semi auto ones.

Its a game, meant for entertainment,  why would you get mad over it?

To each his own.  I have been in several competitions,  still no reason to get mad or disrespectful.  "S'what" makes people look like fools

Do you hate Shotgun users as well? It seems that over the last 4-5 years, people who complain about snipers, also complain about shotgun users. Let's review what it takes to be successful at when it comes to either of these:

    Sniper:

    - Line of Sight

    - Chest up shot(s) - If you're a "spam sniper" you're not considered to be one of Us. In Core, this can mean the difference between life and death. In HC, you can shoot them in the foot and get the kill 98% of the time.

    - Placement in a decent traffic area that is stratigic in the sense that you don't have to worry about being flanked.

    - Claymore or Betty to work, even if not getting the kill, but to warn you of oncoming danger.

    Shotgun:

    - Close quarters

    - Close quarters

    - Close quarters - Unless using the KSG. That thing has some serious range.

I'm sorry, but every gun and/or playstyle has it's advatage(s) and disadvantage(s). Most snipers don't move very far, if at all. Track them down and kill them, or at least communicate to your team where they are. As for shotgun users go - Keep moving and/or be ready to hipfire.

I think you should play however you want and have fun.  Everyone has their own strategy on how to play the game.

The fact that I have to choose between the two is the worst.

    Snipers SHOULD BE campers.

I am ok with camping snipers!

Aslong as people play the objective thats fine, which basicly means i'd rather snipers because sometimes they play it where as campers just sit in the same spot probly would shock charges and boucing bettys

I actually really like playing with good snipers. Emphasis on good as I have only played with two. I have lost track of them and don't know what their current gamer tags are but they were [deleted].

Class of their own. Unfortunately, the current crop of people that I run into normally think they are the next Youtube sensation and really do nothing to contribute to board control.

A good sniper is invaluable, the other 99% are a set of boat anchors getting carried by the team so that they can cobble together a highlight reel IMHO.

Well yeah a good sniper is useful, but face it majority of snipers  sit in few places don't go to the objective or confirm their kills they give a bad name to the good snipers who place the objective, cover people capturing objectives, one who confirm kills.

"Campers" and "Snipers" are two completely different things.

    Snipers:

Firing accurate shots from long distance using a high powered rifle, then relocating. Usually takes high ground. Rinse and repeat. Can play Obj's and/or hold large sections of map. Requires some degree of skill. Quite a useful person to have if they are good at what they do.

    Campers:

Sitting in a corner ADS'ing with an SMG and C4 and a Claymore and a Bouncing Betty and a Motion Sensor. Waiting for someone to walk past so they can shoot in the back. Hardly ever plays Obj. Usuaklly holds down less popualted areas of the map. Requires no skill. About as much use as Anne Franks' drum kit.

    Campers are worse.

The worst are the people who think others shouldn't get mad at cheap players. Everyone has a right to get frustrated, especially when the game is total BS.

And the truth is... Most of them got so frustrated themselves, that they started camping too. And then they want to act like it's cool and everyone else should just be happy. Pathetic. Cheap players are cheap. Don't join them, laugh at them and tell them what they deserve to hear. That they aren't good enough to get a streak without head glitching and corner camping.

Snipers are whatever. They actually camp a lot less than the average camper. Personally, I can snipe, but find it too boring, but I don't get mad at them. Shotgun on Hijacked are much worse, because most people will never even use a shotgun unless it's on that map because it's like getting free kills. And even then, the player is so bad, they'll still get owned.

Now, use a shotgun on Turbine or a sniper on Hijacked, and then you have some balls. Of course, most people are going to exploit what works best in every situation. I personally just use an SMG on every map. Yes, the maps are a little too small for anything else to be consistant.

People can play the game the way they want.  Getting mad at them or frustrated is sad.  You expect everybody to just run around the map foolishly?  Yeah getting shot in the back is so much fun.

It's called strategy.  Map control!!!   But you think you have the right to " tell people what the deserve to hear" Because they don't play your way.   If a guy is camping in a corner it takes me about 1 time being caught by him to learn where he is and figure out how to get at him.   It's not that hard and doesn't take much to do.

If they beat you the only thing the deserve to hear is good game

I like both. My reaction time is slow as f, so killing campers/anipers is where most of my kills come from. LOL

    Neither are worse.

If you keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result you are therefore insane.  Figure out a way arond it.  Especially campers.

Each map has different ways into and out of the typical sniper nest.  Take Raid for example.  Even if somebody is camping the tractor or hay bails near the blue house there are a few ways in there to stop them.

If you can't figure it out then watch some of this series of videos and IMPROVE YOUR OWN GAME.

I don't think any of us would walk up to a sniper in the armed forces and call him a camping beyatch.  You move slow or get a spot to stay alive.

It's a game of tactics.  for every tactic there is a counter.

Everybody should play whatever way they want and play to their strengths. We all play different styles and after playing for a couple of minutes in a game good players should be able to adjust to other players style of play. Personally i think that in BO2 you have to camp to a certain degree or your just gonna get wrecked. Runnig around every game is going to get you alot of deaths and quickly. Most people are just running around with smg's and shotguns so if you run around also your gonna run into some trouble. Not to mention spawning is awful and makes it even harder when your running around and a guy spawns directly behind you. I snipe with overkill and carry a scorpion evo as my secondary just in case i get into close range gunfights. I think it's useful to hang back a little away from the constant smg battles and such but everyone plays differently. And i don't know about everyone else but for me it gets super frustrating running around and getting killed by a shotgun from 30 feet away. Thoughts?

When talking about campers you mean the people that sit in a corner of one room and surround themselfes with tacticals and lethals right? Yeah I really dislike them most.

lol I don't usually object to people's different play styles but I remember getting killed by a corner camper with akimbo B23R pistols in Demolition on Nuketown and I was like "Really?" just so he can call in his VTOL Warship because he can't get it by other means.  I've got a fair few long streaks in TDM where I'd get a VTOL/Lodestar/Swarm but I play "normally" and never corner camp for it and I'm not a Youtube Hero.  He wasn't really playing the objective either and that was my main issue.  One way round it is to have have kills further away from objectives severely reduced in score and buff the score for defusing and planting bomb sites because they are often a death sentence and some will not see it worth the 200 points for doing so.  Domination may be a better alternative as you can get 200 for capture kills and there's a chance of getting more than one, but you can't do that in Demolition.

        Those are some good points.

Myself in general can see that someone would camp a little bit just to get 1 or maybe 2 more kills for a scorestreak? (who does not do this?) The only problem is for me like you also stated people that just corner camp all game without going for the objective completely.

I have less problems with people headglitching overseeing an objective defending it or snipers watching over an objective. At least they are helping the team.

Well it really has to be the Camper and when I say camper I mean the Dbag that sits in a corner all game with a lethal equipment placed in front of them or at a doorway behind them etc or the corner camper that gets a kill then moves to another corner lol and then tries to say its TACTICS ! Lol YEAH RIGHT !

These players have no skill what so ever ! I could train a monkey to do this ! All they are is an annoyance and contribute nothing to the match except annoying people.

      Um,

In real life a sniper takes a shot and hopefully gets a kill then moves spots.  That's not camping.  That's reality yo.

Once you give away your position you HAVE to move.

Sniping takes skill and camping does not (unless they're using those shitty semi-auto snipers).

Being a decent sniper, I can see others' frustration when they think they have a kill on me but I whip out a sweet quickscope or something of that nature.

But seriously, this shouldn't even be a question. Camping is far worse, as are shotgun users who use a weapon that takes literally 0 skill to use.

Camping can be amusing to do at times.

I planted my assault sheild down at the back of the map whacked down shocks and betties and waited for people to come...

Shot one guy he then decided to come try kill me 18 more times and failed every time.

My point to this is if you see a camper don't keep going back to them if you can't kill them.
