Treyarch. Please give us a Snipers only playlist.

I know I'm not the only one who thinks this is an awesome idea. What does the black ops 2 community think?

    I think you should try it in Private Matches.

     

    Been overdiscussed for years. Never happened.

      Actually just got done playing a custom snipers match haha we were all discussing how cool it'd be :)

       

      I know, I've been around CoD for years, but never hurts to keep trying. After all, that's what forums are for!

        people since COD4 have been asking for sniper only playlists but they never payed attention

        then during mw3 they had an poll up with what playlist do you want to see

        it was i think that kinda hardpoint thing with carepackages lost the name:s infected or sniper only

        sniper only was nearly there but it wasnt:(

         

        maybe if treyarch makes an poll for do you guys want sniper only lobbies and we al vote YES! then maybe we get it

      Agree with starbuck. These threads were very common during MW3. We can't even get more HC modes, don't want anymore gimmicks.

    I wouldn't mind it, just hope it is a moshbit instead of straight up TDM.  TDM snipers only=boring.

      Ahh... sit back and not play the objectives. Perfect. If that's not you, apologies in advance. However I played some Dom last night and one particular match had two "snipers". They were both so bad I first thought they were boosting (I remember one was 5-25) and they also did not cap other than the opening flag whilst we were getting stomped.

       

      I support a snipers only although it will never happen. Clear out the white noise from regular lobbies.

    No thank you - nothing better than going up against a HS, QS or TS sniper - the kill is.....cathartic.

      there is a playlist dedicated to snipers.

       

      I think its under private match. custom game. something like that. im not sure. my ping is too low to snipe. sucks.

    Wish all the knifing classers would go to a private match. At least snipers kill with bullets.

    Or a better way of locating players for custom games, for example, a lobby where you can view/join private matches (that don't have party privacy set to closed).

    I'd love to see a Sniper only and No Sniper playlist, but unfortunately the tools who give Sniping a bad name wouldn't use it anyway because a level playing field isn't their thing.

     

    They like legits, casuals, and objective players to have a big fat distraction.

     

    Proper Snipers are always welcome in most games.

      Comprehensive list of maps where I would like to have a sniper on my team:

      -Carrier

       

      Maps where ONE SINGLE SNIPER would not hurt all that much:

      -Turbine

       

      On every other map in the game, snipers hurt the team in objective game modes.

        A proper Sniper can play the objective and be of value to his team on any map if they want to be.

         

        You are getting Snipers mixed up with Killwhores or Kidscopers who avoid objectives.

          good snipers are few and far between and im yet to find a good one who helps the team in the past 2 cod games

            Depends what you mean by a "good" Sniper?

             

            I can play the objective and go positive but I don't class myself as good.

              well for me a good sniper doesnt necessarily have to cap flags and plant bombs to play the objective and good sniper providing cover fire or holding down a high traffic area is alot more valuable.

               

              this tactic also counts for someone using a lmg also

                Yeah to me a good Sniper or LMG useer shouldn't be in a Dom if he won't Cap.

                 

                Once you have 2 flags then it's different I guess, but don't pump your KDR while a team mate does the dirty work.

                  i agree sort of i agree you should go all out to cap your home flag and b but there have been loads of times ive provided cover fire from a good vantage point while my team takes b and if it doesnt get took after the first minute or we lose it i usually change to a smg or a/r setup and try and take it back or cap it

                      yeah i go lmg over watch on b a lot but i still get stuck in when needed.  no dirty target finder though mark 1 eye ball for the win.

                       

                      i'd like to see that work recognised as i often help but from a far and see no benefit points wise.  to be fair i also recognise that the scripts etc to actually have a "smart points" system would be much more complex then a radius system currently used.

                        My mates used to call me "The Sentry Gun" because I played the same way as you are describing. lol

                    I had the second highest score (most captures and destroys) in HQ using an LMG on Cargo.  Looked like some of the opponents tried killmongering but they lost pretty badly.  I enjoyed chewing out their explosives, good ol' Flak Jacket.

                      Same here! I just jump on B with my LMG and blast a 100 bullets till my enemy dies

                      Always have flack jacket+Toughness+Tac mask to survive as long as I can

    AWESOME IDEA! Only if they do add it make it to where the sniper MUST be fully scoped in before they can fire a shot. Otherwise you are asking for lobbies for nothing but trickshots or queerscopers.

      a better idea would be to allow cheapscoping, no scoping and trickshots but make it impossible to do in other game lobbys

    all for this as an idea, so many other titles do these days. would possible cut down on the quick scopers in the rest of the game but would also let peeps like me use snipers and not get totally owned as if ya can't quick scope most maps are death traps.

     

    BF3 has sniper only servers but you can still take other guns!???  that is so bad as basically some tool with an lmg or ar turns up and plays havoc with the game so it would have to be locked.

     

    could you not host a private match and lock out weapons already though???

    Anything that keeps match-ruining snipers out of objective game modes, whether sniper-only playlist or private matches, I'm all for it.

      ok i slate QS's all day everyday but a proper hard scoping sniper as a defensive assest in objective modes is worth its weight in gold to a team.  yes that involves camping but i don't care, i call that tactics.

       

      its a game mode/play style issue. 

       

      if someone is a cheap ass QSer who cares not about helping the team and costs you caps and defends by being a douche bag its because they are a douche bag

       

      (if your on my team and QSing but defending/capping i may accidently not notice lol)

       

      i often overwatch a flag with an LMG keeping the other team off it until i'm dropped.  that is camping in this game but its tactics in any other, the focus is the objective...  dig in and defend or move out and assault.  the bulk of a team should be offensive but some should be defensive.

        Proper Snipers Camp in Obj games, and in the military.

    Why suggest them to add more useless gamemodes, segmenting the search method even more!

    Sniper only game mode = perfect. Everything except TDM so score is always a tie. KC score 0-0. Domination A and C capped then stalemate B never capped so whichever team got to their home flag fastest wins. Headquarters. No one ever takes the Hq. Hardpoint might be interesting since it moves around and probably would wind up in some sniper hideouts resulting in some scoring. I know some will say thats not how they play and they might be right . This is generaliztion based on how most snipers play. Its enough that many lobbies would go like this.

    No. I'd rather see them add more modes for the HC community. I'm not in the HC community but their selection of playlists is terrible.
