Who else thinks the larGe amount of Target Assist the Wiimote has received is ludicrously excessive?

Posted by DestroyerMinaj on Feb 2, 2013 12:16 PM

I seem to struggle in my attempt to unlock my target assisted reticle off an enemy to proceed to aim to another. Maybe Treyarch should let us select between playing withnthe pre patch or post patch TA settings so everyones happy. The end.

WHY did you create another thread when you made a perfectly good one a while ago?

I'm one of the few (I think) that notices no change with it pre/post patch...I returned to turning off aim assist as it was neither helping or hurting me.

I do. Especially when it really doesn't fit the control scheme to begin with.. and the fact that I can't actually turn it off.

True, but you can maximize the amount of people that are happy by including more options, rather than forcing things onto people.

      Options = win

To be fair, the option is there. The fact that there's no option in Zombies is due to a bug. That said, we're still waiting for that bug to be fixed.

My comment was a general one. It wasn't referring to any particular option.

Oh, I know. I just don't want people making the same mistake that I had made. The option was infact available, it just doesn't work. (zombies target assist option bug)

I'm pretty sure we provide more options than any of the other platforms are providing, and probably more than most games you're playing on the Wii U.

At some point we have to be able to lock things down and support them.  The more options, the more room for things to go wrong.

And that's why you guys shouldn't release DLC on the Wii U. Because no matter what you guys do....

I do like this patch though. Finally, wiimote has been fixed. Wiimoters asked for a DA nerf but we got the aimbot aim assist, which I love(no sarcasm here, I swear). Now we're on par.....but not everyone seems to think so ._.

You know im 100% wiimote padders and im loving this new patch.

Now I go into a room ,and instead of getting sprayed down by da aimbot, im destroying these fools, and im still like WOW - did that just happen - they actually died when I killed them

It's ok big guy.  Y'all fixed the wii remote aiming and got us caught up with the other systems.  That has never happened before and it's pretty awesome.  Sit back, prop up your feet and have a beer (or whine or a cookie, whatever).  You earned it.

If you use high speed settings and no dead zones you won't feel much difference if you have AA on or off.

This may be true for multiplayer, but absolutely not for Zombies. Going from playing every day to finding it too frustrating to play at all is very much a difference that I have felt.

My sensitivities and speeds are from 35-40 and both my deadzones are 0.  What I seem to get from Aim Assist on is a slight tracking if the enemy suddenly moves and that the cursor speed slows down some when its near an enemy (I've found this helpful for longshots).  I haven't had any problems changing targets though, which I'm guessing is because of the high sensitivity.

I'd rather there be no aim assist for any control scheme, but they will never take away aim assist from the DA users otherwise there won't be any DA's users left to play the game

That said, this is what they they should do:

    1. Give an option to disable the hip fire tug (an option)

    2. Make it so that Aim assist doesn't work through walls for both control schemes

In other words, make it the same as it was in BO1 on Wii.

Wonderfully said and completly agreed, I need to write that down somewhere.

I agree. Although I wish for this game to be wiimote only, that will never happen. Right now, we're on par. Both controllers have aim assist through walls at long and close range. But of course, this is no fun. Makes the game too easy, I almost feel like I'm using DA. We need that middle ground, where Aim Assist does what its supposed to do, ASSIST THE PLAYER AND NOT AIM FOR THEM. Removal of snap on in general(But padiego, snap on is not on DA.....I thought so too. But then....quickscoping. Quickscoping is basically just taking advantage of AA), removal of AA through walls AND option to turn off certain parts of aim assist.

Even though I don't want this to happen(since i'm having fun getting revenge at all the DA players who used to prefire because AA told them I was there), I feel most people do....and I can see why.

Removing aim assist is going to make the Wiimote overpowered....

Dang.  I haven't noticed the hipfire tug or the snap on.  I must be doing it wrong.  Was able to aim through a wall though.

Wii mote aim assist is now on par with DA and the game is closer to being fair.  So that means Wii mote got too much aim assist.  That's what all these complaints are saying.

And Wiimote only snaps on when you're sitting still.  The rest of the time I hardly notice it being any different than before.  I still have to aim it's just a little easier to do so since the controls are fixed.

It's not just when you're sitting still. If you sit still in zombies, you're dead.

Never play it, but I shall test your theory!

...not really.  Maybe I'll try zombies one day though.  Not now since the controller just got fixed, but sometime soon.

Better try the other zombie maps.

I just think the tug through walls shouldn't be there on aim assist, other then that its pretty fair.
