Double Weapon XP this weekend?

Greetings Call of Duty community,

 

On Twitter, Treyarch Studio's posted the following:

"If you picked up #BO2Revolution, you’ve got a new gun, which means you need to do some leveling up. Plan for Double Weapon XP this weekend."

 

Now, this is obviously for XBox owners, since PS3 hasn't received the DLC yet. However, since we all received Double XP last weekend, I was curious if we would also receive Double Weapon XP this weekend.


I would be greatful for an official response to this inquiry.

    I honestly never knew they gave double weapon xp on this game.

      Yea, and what the OP write is what I read on twitter, DBL XP starting 02/01 question is for all platforms, and they just ran one last weekend.

    Oh man, maxing weapons through prestige 2 would be on everyone's mind, especially the ones people personally don't like or use. It actually might be interesting because people won't be using there "go to guns".

    I wouldnt plan on PS3 getting double xp.........but weirder things have happened !!!

    With the amount of problems the PS3 version has, they should give us double XP every weekend and a free Map pack to make up for the garbage we deal with.

    2x Weapon XP planned for Friday, Feb 1/10amPST – Monday, Feb 4/10amPST on all weapons for Xbox360, PS3 and PC.

        It's only Double Weapon XP, not Double Xp. I guess extra xp from prestiging guns and unlocking attachments will help you rank up faster though.

      This thread should be kept at the top, it was not in the in game message this evenening but there's a link earlier in this thread to the Twitter post where Treyarch Studios confirms this is true.

       

      It might be wise not to prestige right away to keep access to all guns and use some of the ones you don't normally use to start moving them up the prestige ladder. You could also consider using your refund permanent tokens option to reuse your permanent unlock tokens for late prestige guns if you're not close to unlocking them.
