And with the Revolution DLC I am officially done with Call of Duty! (Worth a Read)

Posted by spittingrhymesallday on Jan 29, 2013 12:52 PM

I've played Call of Duty since CoD classic and enjoyed playing each and every game.  Before it came out, Black Ops 2 was extremely hyped by Treyarch, and everyone was making it seem like it was going to be the best video game that would come out for the next 10 years. When Black Ops 2 came out, lag made it extremely hard to play and there are so many stupid glitches and other non sense that kinda ruin the game. It makes it feel like Treyarch gave absolutely no effort at all in making this game.

However, I thought that Treyarch just needed some time do address all of these issues and that all these glitches and other stupid things like lag would be fixed, or at least somewhat fixed. I have have been patiently waiting, along with everyone else.

With the revolution DLC details being revealed about 2 weeks ago, I started to look forward to playing again. Everything was so hyped again "WOW, a game mode where you can play as the zombie!!!!" or "Wow look at these creative maps!!!" and "Treyarch has really put effort into this DLC!!!. I have heard statements like these for the last 2 weeks, people freaking out again like before black ops 2 was released.

So today, I download the DLC. Although I am not a big zombies fan, I must say Die Rise was pretty fun. A lot of my friends, and people on this website are saying it sucks cause there is no room to run trains and stuff, but I thought it was a cool and creative map. And the only part of the DLC that was not full of glitches.

Next, I went to play the new multiplayer DLC maps with the new peacekeeper. Right away it would not let me make a class with the Peacekeeper, kept giving me some stupid error codes and eventually I just went to play the new maps without it. I lagged out of my first 3 games, which happens constantly, then I got to play on all of the new maps. Grind is an ok map, and after that all of the maps are garbage. The spawn points are herrendous, if you thought Black Ops 2 had bad spawns then wait until you play the DLC. The only game mode that should have spawn trapping is demolition. Games like TD, KC and Domination can spawn players pretty much whereever. But in every game I was in, the losing team was getting trapped. Bravo Treyarch. I tried to play in more games, but kept lagging out and when i would find a game, the lag made it almost unplayable.

I've decided I'm done with CoD. Video games are supposed to be fun and enjoyable. I'm sick of dealing with this clusterf*ck of a game, other games are more fun to play and aren't loaded with problems. Thanks for reading!

Weird that, I've found the spawns to be much better playing the DLC, can't speak for the skatepark one yet, I've been on all day playing HCKC and it hasn't come up once. Is it not on the HC rotation or something?

Or he has an opinion, that hearing one more person cry about quitting is enough to put you over the edge, when its a  guarantee that you wont quit.

You posted this on a FORUM which invites opinion. If you didnt want opinion then you should have posted a blog.

Besides why are you still posting I though you said you were done with this game.

Last game I got rid of I posted my opinion on their site and never looked back, but meanwhile here you are begging for attention.

      We have a winner!

The OPs article was worth a read and well put forward. Stated everything that is wrong with this game not seen through the blinkered eyes of fandom.

Lol the people who can't run trains on Die Rise are terrible, seriously. I know at least 5 spots people who are average can do it. Anyhow, I like the new map and Turned is actually more fun than I thought.

The maps after about 10 matches online with them are better as I thought also, I figured Grind would be terrible but in TDM it's actually nice.

They also tweeted they are working on a hotfix for the PK.

I agree. I gave up on Black ops 2 after the most recent title update. As it has been made abundantly clear I am not to play this game. It has never worked for me correctly, even with all previous cod games working great. Throttling my bandwidth was only a band aid on this games horrendous connectivity. I'm not proud of it, but I even boosted diamond camos just because I don't care if I get reset or banned from this game. If I ever play this so called 'game' again, it will be too soon. Party on.

Yeah I don't understand why is trey arch not fixing the lag in this game is it because we have already spent our hard earn money and they don't care about it I mean seriously why are we treated this way by these developers I say we boycott black ops 2 until we get these issues resolved or we get a lawyer and sue like that person did on Honda false advertising I mean my buddy's dad is a big time New York lawyer and he told us we can do it as longs as we get enough people complaining he told me they could actually shut them down and make them fix the game or refund everyone's money and then some we were lied to people take nuketown 2025 we were told we can play it then why was it removed then put back on but not in regular play list mmmmmmm! Something's not right there it's up to us we demand fixes and a better game.

there where some issues with the DLC at launch. even after the peacemaker hotfix, i had a few games where the class i equiped it would lose it MID GAME. so i would respawn with only a secondary. but it quickly dissapeard. there where also some xbox live connection issues. in addition, the LAG was pretty bad last night. but that is a story for another time. they made the hot fixes and game updates rather fast and must of had people on the clock all day/night to make sure issues where addressed. i give them credit for that. although, i think more QC should be done before things are released.

Waaaah! Buncha spoiled lil brats is what I get from threads like this. Don't play. Less lag for the rest of us. I grew up on pong for F--- sake. You don't know how good you have it today. Get out of your parent's basement and get some sun. Get a life. Unbelievable. Whine at the drop of a hat if everything is not perfect the first go around. It's called patience. Learn some.

lol if this is having it good you need to play some other games mate.  i've been playing fps's since castle wolfenstein so i'd like to think when i voice an opinion on first person shooters it comes with some background.

the core game is solid, removing the colossal lag problems, it would be pretty good.  the smaller constant stream of cock ups that treyarch seem to insist on doing day in day out wouldn't be as noticeable but its a sum of all its parts.

this game blows because they don't care about their fan base so sitting there and writing oh well another gamer sods off (one of many hundred we see on this forum) does nothing as you're still a victim whether you realise it or not.

they've hacked back hard core, removed game modes, designed lack luster maps, copy pasted the same old kill streaks, nerfed create a class, take a look at pick 10 closely and tell me you can do anything overtly new. what you can do is the same old stuff at the expensive of things you used to be able to do at the same time.

the game has been so full of issues and bugs from the start that i question the professionalism of 3 arc in general these days.  i've played some bad games in my time and although this one is not that bad.  compared to its forebears it is pretty damn shocking.  close to being the worst of the franchise not a patch on BO1 or cod4 mw.

this game would have been/ would be better if they'd just take a bit more time and play test issues out prior to releasing stuff.... like the game for example.  the dlc is a classic case in point, how many issues did we have/ still have.  proper testing, care and attention to detail stop these things from happening, 3arc don't do it. hence why its a rocky pile of bolts

Best way to play the new maps is to play with a full team and to orginize your positions on the maps to control spawn points. I played 5 games on the new maps with my team and we spawn trapped domination(and by spawn trap I mean not pushing there home flag which would cause spawn flipping). In those games all together, I went 140-15 including one game where I went 64-5. Learn to play the game using team work and you will find that this game is actually pretty well built except for the inconsistant connection issues.

Really, I only hear bad players who go play on thier own complain on these forums. This is a TEAM based game. The better teamwork you have, the more fun it will be for you.

I still don't understand why you are done with Call of Duty. I never have problems with lag on COD. Maybe this is a problem on your end. They fixed the peacekeeper class glitch a few hours after the DLC was released. The only compliant I would have is that it is irritating they release a DLC a few months after the game comes out. They would have had to have started the DLC before the game was released. Seems like greedy money making scheme. But other than that I'm happy with Revolution. New zombie mode is awesome. Die Rise is great (And you can train). And the multiplayer maps are pretty innovative. Anyway hope you have a better experience with other games.

From what I understand they are already fixed the issue with the CaC and the Peacekeeper.  Additionally, and you should be well aware of this, DLC is always laggy the first few days after release which is likely due to the fact that it gets released during the week and most CoD players won't even download it until the weekend.  Therefore the pool of available matches is pretty small.  Lastly, spawn trapping has been going on with great furvor in the original maps every since launch.  I don't know why you would expect the DLC to be any better.  However, you can expect that once people get used to the maps that it won't be as easy to spawn trap people on them.  So if you are comfortable on giving up on a game that you've invested at least $110 in after just one DLC release then so be it.  Your peace of mind is certainly worth more than the money that you've spent but none of your issues are new and should have been expected from the get go.
