Domination Tips for dummies

Posted by Cowboy Torry on Jan 23, 2013 1:29 PM

Seems a lot of people don't grasp the concept of domination so here are some quick tips:

1. capture the flag you spawn near at the start of the match

2. run to the corridor, map point or any camping spot which leads NOT to the B flag

3. preferabely stay away from B flag as in mere seconds the entire enemy team will barrel down on that flag

4. from your total out of the way of point, shoot any enemy team member that by mistake wanders into the wrong direction (that is away from B and C flag)

Repeat above process during the second round.

At end of the match feel proud of yourself that your KD is positive and wonder why the rest of your team quit the match?  Also wonder why Treayrch uses such redicolous metrics like WL.

        Actual tips:

        1. Capture A flag (flag you spawn at)

        2. Capture B flag at all cost (in other words, screw you KD)

        3. Defend both flags

        4. Never ever capture C flag, unless you spawn near it (sign of spawn swap)

        5. Avoid spawn swaps

        Pretty much yeah^^^^

Avoid playing with randoms like the plague.

smoke, guardian and sentry is what I run.

        MY tips :

        1. Capture A/C
        2. Capture B, while capping, kill enemies for them 200 points
        3. after a while Cap C and kill the defenders, more 200 points
        4. Prevent spawn trap, as it feels like a cheap win
        5. enjoy your VSAT's Dogs and Swarms

Not terrible tips, but not good either.

Capturing A or running straight for B is equally important. Some players run straight at B with the idea that B is a HUGE flag to capture.

They have made B the one flag that needs to be captured to win happens in almost every game. Simply staying away from B will cause yoru team to lose, and quit which is a problem in this game.

Make a class with 2 trophy systems and smoke grenade and flack jacket.  Switch to your secondary and haul ass to B.

Deploy smoke and trophies.  Repeat until you have B.

Once you have B, switch to your normal class and kill people attempting to take B.

If all goes well, you will get a great score.  If not, at least you were trying to take B.

This method is good only for an all out 5-6 person rush.

The huge flaw in this method is that many times players will cut off their supporting cover fire.  They then will complain that they get no support.  So if someone tells you to stop throwing smoke it may be in your best interest.

If you do this on meltdown and you have a player trying to supress the sniper in the building across from the home spawn that sniper will not be able see or kill approaching enemies while your smoke is up at B.

Domination is all about map control.  Kill first capture points second.

Identify choke points in front of "B" and take up position, kill the enemy while they approach while one person captures B.

Those that run blindly to B are the reason that better players kill them so often.  They are also the same people that complain about people not playing the objective.  Capturing the objective is the goal however it is difficult to maintain the objective if you do not control the map.

tip: after captureing B, make sure you have a trophy and a c4 on it somewhere thats not easily taken out or seen. concentrate on choke points while your trophy and C4 sit at the flag. if the announcer tells you that B flag is being taken, simply detonate C4 and continue to concentrate on choke point.

KD ratio is none existent in DOM.

I'm a B flag runner at the start. There's no need for the entire team to cap the nearest flag at the start. DOM is all about that B flag.

Equip flack jacket - absolute lifesaver from all the grenade/c4 spam.

If possible play with at least one other person who is playing the same tactics. Makes a huge difference when more than one person is actually trying to cap flags and not just there to KD whore.

If your struggling to catch B, send at least one player to catch their home flag (often a suicide mission). This should distract enemy long enough for an opening on B.

Once B is captured - grenade, grenade, grenade. Cook them to perfection so they blow as they land.

Rinse and repeat for round 2

    Rejoice in your victory.

Oh yeah forgot to mention. Smoke grenade - you know it makes sense.

And for gods sake. If you see a team mate taking a flag. Either give him a hand or cover his back. Teamwork is king.

I think this is an aweosme post and everyone should read it.

    1) Cap Your home flag, dont sprint past it.

    2) Cap B, dont sprint past it, so your team can control the map.

    3) Let enemy team have the remaining flag

    4) Spawn Trap

    5) Dont Trip Cap

    6) Dont Race to cap C when your team has spawned in at A

    7) Dont Race to cap A when your team has spawned in at C

    8) Dont run past B to cap the enemy flag...

Unless you're going for that dang Domination Master calling card. Holding a triple cap for 3 minutes is tough!

If the battle for B is getting long in the tooth for time, one or two from your team can find a way to get to the other flag.  Time the assault on this flag when most of the opposition has spawned and ran to B.  Now, the enemy is caught between your squads who hold the end spawns.  Converge when B is threatened.  The enemy can't look two ways at once.  Great for shots to the back, butt, and heels!

The number 1 tip should be if your not going to help capture the flag, you better be providing cover fire. Don't just run around like a douche.

its so easy cap your spawn flag and then run to B flag and work as a team to cap it and camp next to it to defend it,

do not run into the other teams spawn like a headless chicken, you will ever keep dieing or flip spawns, just sit back on b and the other team will have to come to you to win the game,

i know what im on about by the way i have a plus kd and win most game i play

Bumping this as I've been playing a lot more Dom lately and morons can't seem to grasp the concept of not triple capping
