Activision creates guide for improving your 'Black Ops 2' on-line connection

Posted by tnscproductions on Dec 6, 2012 5:15 PM

Anyone else seen this yet?

The cheek of these Mo fo's in unreal.

http://www.examiner.com/article/activision-creates-guide-for-improving-your-blac k-ops-2-on-line-connection?cid=db_articles

Instead of admiting lag comp, they have released a guide on how to improve your connection. Putting the blame in the players court.

Not only does it do that, the information they give is not completely correct either,

Im honestly done with this franchise unless they sort something out, Im tierd of this bullshit.

I respect your decision to be done. Do what makes you happy, some may join you. I may join you. But we are just a speck of black matter in an infinite universe, you and I. No one will notice, no one will care. It will go on without us and continue to expand into infinity.

The makers have spoken, they no longer make the game for you and I. Only those who have yet to age, seeking instant gratification, ignorant to obvious flaws.

Indeed we are a tiny spec in the whole of those who are marketed with this game, all the more reason for us to be as active as possible, sharing and spreading the information, if we stop then who will? The others just walk away, one message, one post, one link at the right location can change everything.

The weakest link in the chain is the most important, if it breaks, the entire weight is lost that it sustains.

We experience this everyday in various businesses and events, it takes just one article, one video, one story on the evening news and now all the shady tactics of something or someone goes viral and people get informed and start to take a look of why this and why that.

More and more gamers are finding out why MW3 was the way it was and the awareness is growing with Black Ops II, if you want to ensure this does not continue not only with Activison and other companies, make your voice known.

A basic networking guide that almost anyone who plays online gaming has likely done anyway. Yea, slap in the face

What the makers have spoken has no impact on the problems of the collective. This remedy would only suit the dark ones who remain in the moderate-strict nat realm. I fear we will never find the true answer.

It's funny how they put the blame on us when only their games have the **** lag we have to deal with.  Every other game I play is fine, it's CoD that has the bad connections.

Nice to see some mainstream sites finally kicking in, instead of the rave reviews and paid promotion, one of the greatest lessons in life I have learned is, even when you get so big you are unable to see your foundation anymore ( the COD Fans ), it is your foundation that will bring you down just as fast as it holds you up, the foundation in everything we build must be maintained.

Good to see, thank you for sharing.

    cheeky F***ers.

I cant belive they done this.

one minute theres no problem. Now there admitting that aload of us are having issues. But of course it must be our equipment and what not. Funny how this problem only happens when playing black ops 2.

I wont bother buying from treyarch again. not till at least a month after release and checking if theres any issues. when it comes to making a call of duty game they clearly can NOT be trusted to make a decent multiplayer without issues. Shame really games one of the best Call of dutys but they shafted us and themselves with 1 stupid but big problem.

me not not buying from treyarch wont make a midgys penis of a difference but looking at what others say i wont be the only one

So you are taking the websites opinion on this instead of looking at factual information ?

They release the same basic help page to cut down on the incoming calls etc.

They do this for EVERY game.

This was released two days ago and its the same copy/ paste every single year.

why the big conspiracy theories ?

There are no conspiracy theories, young starbuck. Only ignorance or false hope of a better outcome. You may have had prior knowledge to the ways the makers calm the storm with a generalized statement. However, other have not and are dissapointed with the makers' response.

We must accept a certain fate, there is no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. Only dissapointment. May we be teased with remnants of a memory built on a good connection. While never perfect, could this game not be better?

Would matchmaking tweaks mirrored to past successess bring hope to this game? I think so. The root of this game was founded in an extremely minute community. It has been cast out by the greater collective.  Proof is displayed for the whole world to see. MLG love has failed.

If you are saying they wont fix the game in short then you are right. People expect it to "work like before" but it all comes down to the same 5 percent (?) that have issues, sometimes a different set of people . It sucks to get a bad game connection for example like some people get.

But most of this forum is full of people blaming things other then themselves for getting killed.  Ruins it for the people that have a legit issue. What threads need is a filter to keep out the whackos, like they would have on a Radio Station Telephone line.

Some people DO have legit complaints but we all should consider the fact that theses lag issues CANT be fixed and are just the part of online gaming.

For example imagine the complaints on the BF3 forum where people said the killcam of them dying didnt match what happened. Thank god there is not one

There are so many things they can fix and about 4 years ago I understood that the online issues cant be fixed and can only be tweaked.

cool story bro...thanks for letting us know this game is doomed and that it CANT be fixed now or in the future...you saved alot of people the time and energy asking for this to be fixed and saved some people from purchasing this in the future.

Will I continue to play CoD even with the fuktupedness?(and I know that's a misspelling)... Yes. The point is that other online games such as halo 4 and counterstrike(pick your version), do not have these connection problems... I think that all in all, that's ALL that the OP is trying to convey...

They made enough money off this game, and it's activity is high enought that they should be able to work something out with microsoft in the line of Dedicated Servers...It's really a shame we don't have them, such a great game.

You shouldn't have to alter anything,  other cod games played fine, like the way they try to blame the user for the way the online side plays, way to go.

and its this sort of ignorance about networked consoles being plug and go that cause problems for people.

The way the game as been developed is the cause, and nothing else. Does it mention on game case that you might have to mess with your internet setting, I can't see it anywere on mine, can you?

Exactly, every thing else I play is fine, but slap in bops2 and wham, crap. Well, I guess it is all our fault, for putting in the damn disc in the first place.

I'm sure plenty of us are done with 3Arc products, and I'm also sure this post of mine will be delted or edited by the accused.

HA! I can't believe that they've gone this far. This must mean that there is in fact or at the least have been talks of a lawsuit of some sort, and their lawyers motioned for them to post this as ammo for their side when and if it in fact goes to court. They've now made an effort, and to a jury who I'm sure will probably have either no clue how video games work, or interest in a video game to begin with will take this like a baby takes a bottle (with open arms), quenching their thirst for knowledge on the matter and becoming completely satisfied.

Are you kidding me?  9 COD's later, and 8 of them that have run perfect for me 99% of the time... now they're telling me to change my interenet connection?   LMAO.. fail on that one.    Ya, change my whole setup for 1 game that should be working right, when all other games in the history of me playing my 360 since 2005 have been working correct?

Ya, right... I"m not changing a thing.   Fix your code.   The PC is on dedicated servers and still runs like the 360 version with the lag.

    Fix you code!

That article is bulllshiit. I play wired to my modem(doesnt double as a router) and it still is unplayable. And for shiits and giggles i did this setup with my actual router and made things worse. Port forwarding, dmz, even messing with the MTU setting. Ive done everything on my end possible. It is the game.

I love how they tell you to turn off your router firewall then put your XBox in the DMZ!!?? Its kinda doing the same thing twice except turning of your hardware firewall leaves all your other devices open to DNS attacks.

Putting your xbox in the DMZ yes thats a valid point but turning off the hardware firewall altogether! thats just bad advice
