Lag Compensation and Spawns

Well Treyarch you have proven to me that you are just like Infinity Ward and don't care about your customers you just wanted to make a quick buck the multiplayer is unplayable for me because of laggy lag compensation and a terrible half done spawn system that even a child can exploit. I mean seriously you didn't have to cater to the campers to make your game bad I mean seriously catering to people who lag is like embracing the loss of customers and money. See here is what I know you are going to do you are going to do nothing to fix these two major game breakers until the next CoD comes out then you are going to pretend to attempt to fix it then epicly fail and do nothing. You aren't game makers or designers you are just the epitome of failure and the epitome of lazy and also the epitome of careless. You are like a bar or restauraut that ignores health code violations. I mean if this doesn't offend you then you aren't real game designers it probably doesn't offend you because you are probably laughing your asses off while counting your money saying we ripped these idiots off again. To think my ass was defending you and praising you for what I thought was a good game look how stupid I look I should never trusted or believed in a company like yours. Your company is all about the "money" the motto the Customer is always right was never used by your company. I will not be getting your season pass until I see lag compensation fixed or gotten rid of and your spawn system fixed or randomized. The worse part is well I have a good internet connection. It's not that I think I should be ahead of people who have less of a signal then me I just think that laggy people should not be ahead of me. I have lost all faith in your game it would of been good but lag compensation had to kick in and I realized how bad the spawns are. I know you aren't going to do anything I have no hope in your game because hope only brings disappointment. Treyarch you disappoint me stop making promises that you won't commit to.

    1. The game has been out for two weeks

     

    2. They patched the hell out of blackops. Each and every patch included tweaks to lag comp. Lag comp will never be 100 percent perfect all they can do is make sure everyone gets a fair shot as much as possible.

     

    Basically they will deal with it, but these things take time.

      If this was their first game, I'd agree with you. But this is the 9th COD to come out. If they don't have their **** together by now there's a serious problem.

        Doesn't matter how many you make, you can not fix a game until its put to the test by the public. Thats when you REALLY see where the problems are..

          The horrible lag and spawns didn't become this big of an issue until the first Black Ops. They (IW and 3arc) had a winning recipie before that. Since then they have made some kind of changes to both the connection and the spawn system and they are both complete garbage. And they did it 3 games in a row.

           

          In COD4, I could get thrown into a Japanese room where they have super mechwarrior internet. They would all have 4 bars that never dropped and I would have a very steady 2. It was still very playable even though I could only get crappy DSL at the time and I was playing against people on the other side of the planet. Now, I can connect to people the next state over and people are lagging out of the game. That's assuming the game hasn't hard locked their system first.

           

          Don't give me that public testing BS. They should have tested this themselves.

    100% agreed. Two of the biggest problems with the game right there. For me the lag compensation issue is so bad I can't even play the game. I mean, what would be the point when I constantly get instakilled and my bullets just don't seem to kill anyone. Can't even go positive most of time even though I maintained a ratio of 2+ in BO1 and often got games with 25+ kills and <5 deaths so my ratio was going up. I also did well in MW2, where there were zero lag issues. Not for me and not for people in general.

     

    I wonder how they managed to make the netcode worse than it was in BO1. This game plays just like MW3 did, or worse. If they built this game on BO1s engine, why is it this much worse? It's almost as if they took this lag comp BS netcode directly from MW3. Many of the killstreaks seem to be more or less copy/pasted from there. Dragonfire = Recon Drone, Lodestar = Reaper,  EMP, AGR = Assault Drone, Escort Drone = AH-6.

     

    I also noticed that this game has the same problems detecting my NAT type than MW3 did. If I remove my port forwards, both MW3 and BO2 keep claiming my NAT is Open, which is not true. MW2 and BO1 both immediately say Moderate. I wonder if this has something to do with the networking issues.

     

    A lot of similarities, in features and issues. I wish the devs would stop ignoring this lag compensation issue and tell us what's going on. Is it getting fixed or not?

    The spawns is something I could deal with.

    But and yeah theres something I just cannot Deal with AT ALL...

     

    For example I get killed by someone and on my screen I shot him too or I moved behind cover or a wall , something you cannot penetrate.

    Then I watch the killcam and I see that on his screen I wasnt behind cover at all ! I mean , some lagg is doable but this ???!?!?

     

    I can get very frustrated when things aint fair, and this aint fair at all you know ..

     

    I am playing Cod since Call of duty 4 modern warfare, ( absolutly adore that game <3 ) and Hardcore HeadQuarters was my thing, but lately in mw3 and Black ops 2 they dont have that many Hardcore playtypes.

     

    In mw3 HC HQ got added later on , I understand that it could be because of the ammount of people playing it but I really really miss it, it is the only game mode in HC that doesnt have a respawn timer ! <3

     

    Well, this is most of my annoyances that I found while playing Black ops 2 .

      All of the above comments are so true. Release day was perfect for the lag compensation every one seemed to have a even edge to kill, NOW it's wtf is going on. Run around a corner put bullets into some one before they do but they kill me!? What ever. The lagg detection is close to a second out.

      Headshot some 1 with the sniper then they die after they kill me it's funny to the point of crying.

        Release day was perfect for me. I was dominating every game I played, and the gun I was using (M-TAR) dropped people like it was the Tar-21 from MW2. But ever since day 2 i've been lagging like a ***** and struggle to go 5 under positive. I'm back to MW2 until this game gets fixed.

    The lag is so bad that I have found that it is absolutely required to run with an SMG or Shotgun to even get a kill. If you don't run with a gun that has a high rate of fire, you are at an extreme disadvantage. Assault rifles are not even an option in this game. You either have to Snipe, or run and gun, no in between.

      And when I say snipe, I mean you have to quick scope, because you can't sit back in the distance because a SMG will spawn behind you or even shoot you from across the map.

          I've said it before the only way to stop camping is to make people auto die after 3 seconds of not moving.

      I use SMGs a lot because most of the engagements that I'm going to be in for the game types that I play are going to be close range and that's what SMG's are built for.  However, when I'm on a map with longer lines of sight I have no trouble doing quite well with the ARs.  Of course you actually have to change your tactics to play as if you are using an AR and keep the engagements at mid to long range as much as possible but they work just fine.  I kill SMG users quite regularly with ARs but they also kill me when they get too close (just as they should).  I suggest playing with an SMG for awhile and taking notes of the AR users that get the drop on you.  Which AR they were using, the distance away that they killed you from, and how they used cover are all important.  It will help you learn how to position yourself better for when you are using an AR.  I know that I struggle with using a sniper rifle but I've learned quite a bit about positioning from the killcams of the snipers that have gotten me.  Hopefully this will help you get back to using ARs where appropriate.

    when blk ops 2 was first out i was getting kills everywhere and i dont like playing core but now for past 4 days i can barely kill anyone im coming up behind guys and i empty my smg or rifle at them and no hit markers they turn around i knife them in chest then they shoot me twice and i drop dead

     

    head on gunfights i die instantly in 1 or 2 hits regardless how many times i hit them i run behind cover like a wall and half a second later drop dead because the guy can bend his shots around walls n stuff like wanted.

     

    i started with a 2.58 k/d now my kd is 1.01 and struggling to stay positive and i dont care about k/d anyway but its an obvious indication as to how im becoming unable to play this game now i mean every game now im lucky to finish 11 kills 11 deaths as most of time im 6 kills 30 deaths and everyone on the other team are 20 kills 3 deaths

     

    every so often its like the game changes and i get a run of like 10 games where i can play and kill easy but then fr hours and hours it changes back to being unable to kill

     

    and theres only 4 hardcore modes so playing core with this kind of connection or lag comp is a nightmare as everyone is like some sort of unstopable terminator godlike killing machine

     

    every other cod game is fine and mw3 wasnt as bad as this game in black ops 2 i cant even get a run of good games going its at the point now where i switch the game off and go play halo 4 or mw3

     

    im losing the urge to play and rank up now and losing faith in call of duty which i have played since call of duty 2

     

    so glad i paid for hardened edition

      summed up perfectly mate i started well then they did that update ive got amazing upload speed connection and now everytime i go on since the 1st update im getting absolutely battered 2.2kd on mw3 yet on bo2 when i play now probably averaging 0.5 which is unbelievable im constantly putting 10 bullets in players bak they laugh at me for a minute turn round put two on me and i drop dead, also head to head when i die i think no way i shot him 1st watch the killcam bak and he must have seen me 0.5 o 1 second before me 0.1 i cud compete yeh but that amount of time its no wonder im getting battered bak to mw3 it is for me until they sort this

    You all make great points. I feel like I have be robbed and I have a VERY BITTER attitude towards COD right now. Lag compensation has completely ruined any fun this game may have been. This is the last COD I will ever by. Like you all mentioned above they dont give a fuc* either, they are too busy counting our cash.

      No offense but:

       

      1. People say that all the time.

       

      2. Patching a complex game is not as simple as you think unless you do know in which case please type up some code right now and launch this epic feat you so preach as simple and easy.

       

      3. All software needs updating post launch. i.e. Windows, iOS, interent explorer, word, etc. I think you get the point.

       

      Just be patient. This affects us all.

      Exactly what I think, just remember when BO1 came out the spawns and the lag comp was just like this, then they tweaked it out.

    Nice piece Adam, would like to say worst lag ever as everybody have stated. Never ever heard TREYARCH OR INFINITY WARD talk about lag compensation. I can only think the compensation thing is something to do with making their lives easier NOT OURS. Now if these companies really do listen to these forums, can we as BUYERS of the game, have proper transparency wether or not LAG COMPENSATION will be available in future realeases. Next November when the next title is realeased these Questions WILL be asked, and hopefully answered by Forum members in the know from Infinity and Treyarch. If they are not answered, then me and all off us know Lag compensation is still there, and will not BUY.

       COME ON TREYARCH HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD TO SORT THIS OUT ?

      I used to host every game but now it's never. All ways the shittiest connection gets host.

      Black Ops didn't actually get fixed to add. Still has majot issues. The last update on that mest it rite up.

Just because you are on the good side of lag compensation does not mean everyone else will. -_____________________- What is it going to take to get that through the ignorant people on this forum?

       

      To be honest, I'm done talking about this subject since Treyarch still has not responded to this problem and there seems to be no progress in fixing it. I would have thought that they would have learned their lesson from all of the Call of Duty's that were made, and they still happen to **** up with it anyway. You're better off not playing this game if you're on the bad side of lag compensation like I am. Too much fustration coming from a game means you shouldn't be playing it.

      Chad, ever hear "squeaky wheel" cliche'?  Well, maybe you and a small percentage of players aren't experiencing the lag comp everyone else is, but until its fixed or they respond and say they can't fix it, the squeaky wheels will keep bringing up this issue.

       

      I really think a lot of people who say there is no lag started playing COD series at MW3, so they can't tell the difference in an even connection playing field. Go play MW or MW2, they were the absolute best. Maybe those guys who left IW really knew how to make this work properly for multiplayer.

         I am just so disappointed with this game right now. I really am trying to enjoy it, but between the crummy spawns, entire clips to kill, lag, and OP hipfiring SMGs, I am just finding it impossible to have fun.

         I never thought I would say this, but right now MW3 is more playable than this. I really really really can't stand MW3, but I feel like I have to settle for that until the issues in this game are ironed out. I'm too competitive; I don't want my stats to be ruined by things that are out of my control. :/

    Let be honest.  Most player buy this game for the multiplayer mode and I think the number of views for this post speak for itself.  There are many of us having this issue and no one at Activision or Treyarch have given a real response.  If either of them said f#^*& off, I could live with that.  I would sell the game and move on.  But I like this series and really would like to keep playing.  I've stopped for now as I feel that I'm wasting my time being angry about the game play.  I'm being slaughtered when it seems that I should have had the kill(s).  I just hope they can sort this all out, SOON!

    I can´t play this game. The lag compensation is terrible for me, all the killscam are a joke if you see my profile in cod elite you may see the numbers from mw3 and you see now the number from bo2 and are a joke. I hope they can fix this issue

      The lag comp is bad,i would almost say that the spawn system is even worse though.

      I have seen many many many times where i see myself getting killed 2 times in the same killcam.

      Its absolutely rediculous to be killed and then immediately spawn right in front of the person that killed me again.

    It's pointless to complain about lag compensation. Treyarch are nothing but tools to Activision. So long as they get paid they don't care. If you really want to get your message across people should band together, sign a petition or better yet. Mass amounts of people just don't buy their future titles so that their record breaking sales goes down and down and then these studios get the boot.

     

    Words mean nothing to tools, only action. So either get together and sign a petition or when the next COD title comes out in November 2013 mass amounts of people go on a 'strike' and don't buy their game. So long as you feed the king, the king won't care, kings will only care when you stop feeding them.

    Because this game has gotten that bad I've had to go out and buy hitman absolution, and I don't even like single player games, I know 4 people that have sold the game already and I know including myself about 12 people that won't be buying the season pass, the total lack of feedback on these issues is shocking. It would mean the world to millions of people if they just put up an announement saying we are working on a patch it could be 2 weeks but were onit.

     

    Lag comp? bullshit if somebody has **** internet dont reward them , let them play crap so they have to go upgrade there net like I did. Running 100mb fibre optic and i'm still getting shot round corners and people seeing me earlier.

     

    Also bring back the search for local players, i'm sick of playing half of turky all day with laggy ass computers

    I take it there is no fix as of yet as in a update or a over due appologie from treyarch or activision?

    Really dissapointed now,not played Blops2 for 5days now, and they have the cheek to ask £39.99 for a map pack!?

    Seriously think not,would rather buy a game that will be ammusing..say Family guy for instance.  I know it's not online game but there is one key factor IT WILL BE FUN AND ENJOYABLE!!!

     

    Im pretty ashamed in myself tbh,i got my friends to purchase Blops2 pre-orded (both girl gamers) i should add which the community needs more of.

    It's there first experiance with the Call Of Duty franchise and they even reconise how silly the kills are.

    So so let down.

    To add how can you mess up the main game with issues :/ Ughhh

    Lag compensation again? I swore this would be my last call of duty if this lag compensation persisted. And it did. I'm over call of duty. Yeah it's early in the season and many updates and patches ahead, that's the something that was said about the first b.o.  Then many patches later napalm strikes got shorter but lag compensation persisted, I was optimistic about mw3 and thought activision wouldn't do this to us but lo and behold they did! Not only did they add lag compensation, they only copy pasted just about everything, the campaign was a joke! Really? An invasion of the u.s.a. That is deep in our suburbs was deflected in 1 day? Bullshit, but that isn't my point, my point is that you guys still put lag comp on b.o.2 even after thousands of us begged you. We understand lag comp is also needed to accurately teli the ELITE site, but really? Why do I need elite? It sucks! I got the founder badge andi beta tested it! I thought it was horrible since the beta and the fact you charged for it makes me want scream. But I guess there is a noob born every minute and you guys are making the games for them and they are rejoicing all the noobs say its the best c.o.d. Yet! Blow me! I am keeping my word and not buying your games EVER! I will also tell all the kids that come into my GameStop how much c.o.d. Games suck starting from black ops and forward, and not to bother wasting their money on this stupid game, good job on taking pics of downtown l.a. And letting the software do the rendering, bunch of talentless jerks!

      I agree...MW2 hit detection was spot on no matter the connection. Ever since BO lag comp has ruined COD. IW and Treyarch have spent so much time trying to give an even playing field to the wal mart internet group that they ****** it for everybody else and if kill cams, COD casting and theater have something to do with it then get rid of it. If i want to record I will use my PVR....much rather have good game play than bullshit I dont need or want!

    i understand the complex nature of patches, but here is my thought.. if they know that this lag comp they are using is un desirable for 98 percent of players why do they keep using the same logic?

     

    i dont understand that part

     

    the only thing I can think of is that this lag comp allows all players no matter the connection to play ( good for business) but really terrible for the people who invest in great internet ( normally the die hard gamers)

    The Game is such a Big bucket full of Bullshit. Nothing Works and these funny trainees from Infinity Ward have not enough Balls to respond to our Problems.
