This game is becoming a camping fest, and it's gonna get worse?

Leave the lag issues and the others stuff, the thing that really bothers me are the campers and how a certain map can ruin a player game.

 

Example: First map - Nuketown, few campers, no big deal 'bout campers on this map, anyway, I finish the game with a good score 60-20

 

Same people, same lobby, new map - Hijacked. I had really a bad game, like 23-23.. The point is everyone soon or later will become a camper, I couldn't do anything that everyone was camping in houses or in any place ideal for camping.

 

How to fix this? You play like a camper aswell. I've been playing CoD since CoD 4 and I've never been a camper, yet this year looks like I'll be forced to in most of the maps, I do think am not the only one doing that since I see more campers day after day.

 

It just sucks.

      It's also the maps, in mw3 there were so few campers, in bo and bo2 everyone is a camper..

      The game has become so campy the only COD game that wasn't as campy was CoD 4 you would mostly only have snipers camping an now it seems everybody camps to get the kill streak. change the kill streak back an the camping won't be as bad,

      On MW3 I would have agreed with your statement. But sorry, I disagree with this statement on BO2. The maps have so many head glitching opportunities. I have seen many good players not even rushing and just taking advantage of barrels, crates, windows, etc. just to boost their KD.

       

      I know many people crapped on MW3 for it's spawning situations, but you know what, it kept the game moving.

    Flashbangs, concussion grenades and regular grenades seem to help. I dont camp, if Im not moving Im dead

    I wont reply again to this thread but understand this, no one will play the game as you desire. You choose to play one option the enemy will choose the other. Who does better is demonstrated at the end of the match. Complaining that others are ruining your experience is illogical and a weak excuse to lose.

    The game is new and people are still getting used to the maps, I personally am having no issues with campers, I just let them do their thing.

     

    It seems a lot of people use "F***ING CAMPERS" as an excuse as to why they are doing so bad. Just suck it up, adapt and crack on.

      It doesn't matter if the game is new ppl are always gonna camp cos that the only way they seem to think they can get their kill streak up.  I understand that Domination is all about protecting the flag but other game modes are a joke when you should be running around like a mad man killing instead of camping.

    We will never have another multiplayer online experience as in Black Ops first edition. Sad but true.

    I think this thread is a bit simple.

     

    The OP cites Hijacked and then says "people hiding in houses and stuff".

     

    You're either inside on the boat and therefore watching entrances for enemies (yes, I've tried the dinner table, piano or wine rack and there's no joy there), or you're outside trying to stay out of the open (where everyone and their diving instructor's dog can get you).

     

    The maps and game design NOT the players promote staying tight to a place.

     

    In WAW maps were medium to large, a couple were really large, people still used cover but staying in an unused corner gave no reward. This takes the effectiveness and influence of this style down and so less people play that way or notice it or are bothered by it - because it doesn't effect much.

    FFS "camping" used to be about "poor" players (perceived to be poor I hasten to add) laying prone in the same place all game. Now its got to the stage where if you just pause to take a shot using "cover" you are deemed and called out for "camping".

     

    Sorry but the anti camper community are just looking like a bunch of sore losers that want an easy ride and even easier kills. Earn it don't just expect it on a plate.

      taking shots from behind cover I don't consider camping unless you spend the entire game there, only player that is deemed not a camper should be snipers.

        Whatever camper...  You should always be running wide open in the middle of the map even if you are a sniper.  It should be a rule that everyone has to meet in the middle of the map and let the lag sort out which of us is the best!

        Why would a Sniper be exempt from being a Camper, but playing an "Overlook" position with an LMG not be?

         

        Snipers and LMG are really expected to running around out in the open??? Personally on My LMG class I am one of a few that hold down a choke point as the others Flank and kill from behind. I don't run around with my Lmg.

         

        Ironically although I am called a camper more when I am on my Pistol or No gun class, flanking and knife the opposing team.

    once the lagg issue is sorted out ill have no trouble dealing with campers.

     

    get a uav up and you will sniff them out anyways lol.

    RPG and such are alot stronger so they should do the trick.

    I think they should put in a new map just for you called "plowed". It will be a plowed 40 acre field in the middle of idaho potato fields.

      They had something really similar to that in mw2 and it was way worse because everyone was snipers laying down in the grass after they fixed the out of map exploit...  You could not run and gun on that map at all.

    The games only been out for a couple weeks now so people need to pad their K/D's in order to make themselves look like good players. Campers are gonna camp regardless of game/game type/map/etc. It's their nature. Seeing as how some people's whole lives are built around their K/D, I don't ever see it going away. I have yet to play a single game (whenever I'm able to) without running into at least 2-3 campers. They just want to have a high K/D so they can tell their "friends" how awesome they are at COD. As others have mentioned, adapt. Can't run-n-gun all the time. Especially on the larger maps like Turbine (probably the worst in terms of camping) and Cargo, I've seen some dandy camping on those maps. I mean SERIOUS camping like Sentry gun, Guardian, Danger Close with two betties/claymores, Ghost, Blind eye, the whole nine yards.

    And how about the glitches, cheats, etc?

    Yesterday I was playing domination and at the start of the match the opponent team with 0 kills, 0 deaths sending 3 scorestreaks ( VTOL, dragonfire and hellstorm). Now I can't watch or playback the video to record and show.. Someone else?

    Well if you really went 60-20, maybe you forced them to camp? People don't like getting F'd in the A you know.

    As much as they have done to prevent camping (im a camper , trust me), you all still find the time to complain about campers.  You cant even shoot a uav easily out of the air anymore, ghost is at level 55...you have to be moving to stay off when you do get it.  I mean dam...its frustrating hearing people whine all the dam time...

    There is no talent in laying down,prone in one spot and hardscoping targets. EVERYBODY CAN DO THAT.

    IT's like target shooting beer cans all day... do you really need to shot beer cans all day? BORING

     

    Run and gun with all weapons including sniper rifles, it's difficult but in time you can do it.

      Looks like we have alot of campers here.

      And no to the one who said I was camping myself in A for getting those kills in Nuketown, was between c and b whole game.

       

      Bring the plowed map please, bet you'll be the only one that is gonna camp anyway.

    Game modes like Kill Confirm should have a rule where if you sit in a corner longer then it takes to reload your weapon you get a warning the first time but the second time you are killed instantly for being a camper, unless you are using a kill streak that you have to stand still for more then 5 seconds.

    Myself personally am probably what "you" might call a camper, ill hold down an area of a map. I dont class that as camping but as far as i can see if you stand still for two seconds that what you get called these days.

     

    Even when i play S&D and im defending a bomb i get called a camper, its a word thrown around way too much. Who decided that run and gunning was the correct way to play Cod anyway?

      But game modes like S&D domintion, Cap the flag or demo you are protecting something other game modes where there isn't nothing to protect you are a camper.

        But yet i still get called a camper in S&D, thats my point. Holding down an area like i said i do isnt what id call camping, Sitting in a corner for the entire game is camping. People need to learn the difference.

          Alot of folks think cats are camping becuase you happen to run around a corner full speed and bamm you get mowed down.. there are alleys and places on this game that i just wont go down without aiming down my sights for at least 5 to 10 secs. I hear aww man your camping but what im really doing is playing smarter then you are..... i dont stay in one area prone I move about in a precise mathotical manner and usually if I get killed its from behind. I use the LSAT with Silencer/QuickDraw/Stock and its always the dudes with the SMG I mowwww down and they swear im camping lol...

            We are talking about guys that sit an wait wait wait for somebody to go to that area, like pitch a tent an sit there the entire game, not the guys that creep about the map an take it slow.

        Heres my thing as well..... Ive never felt so unsafe on a game in my life lol in MW3 there were a few ways to get in and out of places.... On hear theres 10 ways to get everywhere so when i do kill someone I sprint like hell to a corner to reload because I know for a fact someone is hunting me now... And it never fails they come prancing on by and i kill them and then I hear these words F##KIN CAMPER because I played the situation smarter then they expected.
