Domination players

Posted by avengedyesterday on Nov 19, 2012 8:25 PM

What do you think about the new domination?

I love how fast paced it is and I like swapping spawns. However, unless the two teams are neck and neck the game is pretty much won after round one. Meaning it comes down to running down the clock instead of the goal of 200 points. Plus if one team is dominating in round one, it's a guarantee they will dominate in round 2 if anyone on that team was smart enough to save up their point streaks for the next round.

Any thoughts?

Feels the same as it was before, but now the losing team might have a chance in the second round rather than getting spawn trapped for 4 minutes straight.

It seems that Less people are playing Domination now,

And I like it I mean the losing people usally dont come back in Round 2 but It at least gives them a chance I also like the spawn switching and so far Impressed with Domination and The Game at best.

I've noticed that a lot of times when people leave there are no replacements for them.  I spent the whole second round of a game playing 2 v 2 last night.

I think it was a great idea to break it into 2 rounds.  I've seen a lot of hate on that, which I don't get at all.  It's a fresh and more fair take on a classic mode.

I actually had a couple of games last night where the tide of the match really turned in the 2nd round and the games ended with very close scores after it pretty much seemed like a foregone conclusion at the end of the first round.  Even if you have a good lead going into the second round you can't let your guard down.

I've have noticed some MW3 style spawns, which can be annoying, but it's still early days and I'm sure Treyarch will be addressing them as best they can once they've gathered enough data into their big black box.  I think they could also do with adding some spawn protection from explosives/killstreaks (I don't think anyone likes spawing to a lightning strike).  I

I hate the changes they've made. Domination is supposed to be about dominating, not dominating for 5 minutes and then letting the losing team back in it. A good team could come back without needing the help of swapping sides.

Full party, spawn trapping pub stompers will hate it.... and thats why its largely a good thing.

Ironically, MW3 would have benefitted more from this due to so many of their maps being outrageously unbalanced in domination (Mission, Hardhat, Village etc). Good for balance although in this game, I havent detected any great unbalances in the different starting spawns.

The only problem with this setup is that sometimes in round 2, its mathematically impossible for one team to win. They need to tweak it (for public games, not league play) so that in round 2, it just plays to 200pts first instead of the 5 minute limit (keep round 1 exactly the same.)

Ive noticed that many more dom games now have more objective play in them. Thats partly because of the score streak system but also these rule changes.
