Can't connect to online services

So I can't connect to the online mode of mw3. I've tried restarting my router, I've tried waiting, I've tried restarting my ps3 multiple times. Ive checked the status of the server and its fully operational. I'm mad as hell. What is going on to make it so I can/t connect. I was playing last night until 4am and when i woke up to play there was an update. Does this have anything to do with it? I just want it to work so I can play!
hey im haveing same problem but on 360 its effing annoying as hell
on another note, neither of the 2 ps3's in the house will connect I am getting the same message on both
Same issue with me .. Coulnd't access server a couple of hours after updating with new patch ..
If you are experiencing this issue, Can you tell us who your Internet service provider is? Also, have you tried rebooting your router and modem?
I am having the same problem with my PS3 and MW3 system starts to download the update and locks up, then I get an error message, shut down restart, don't get the update screen but get a new error message. Rebooted modem and router that is not the issue, put in black ops disc and it works fine for multiplayer something is very wrong with the MW3/COD servers and or the update. This issue is NOT on my end with my internet set up or PS3. This is serviously aggravating..........all the money Activision makes off of this series of games and we the buyers deal with continued issues with COD servers, game glitches etc... pretty sad. As to my internet provider it is Time Warner Cable I am running their fastest internet set up which is wideband.
From your description, if you're having an issue downloading the update for Modern Warfare 3, that means there is an issue with your connection to the Playstation Network. The updates for the game are distributed by the Playstaiton Network and not controlled by Activision.
If you're using a router, connect your Playstation 3 console directly to your modem and try downloading the update. If not, you'll need to open up the ports needed for the Playstation Network. I've included a link below. http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html
