What is going on?? 2.6 kd to a 1.2 kd

In every call of duty since modern warfare two, my KD ratio has hovered around 2.6

 

In black ops 2 i have a 1.24 kd. I dont get it. No matter what playstyle i choose, wether it be playing extremely defensive, aggressive, or little bit of both, i cant get any good game. this is driving me crazy. i have put the game away for now, it is way too frustrating to play at this point.

 

And as a side note, shotguns are unbearably bad.. please for the love of god reduce the crosshairs, and make it so moving around doesnt affect the crosshair spread. shotguns are traditionally rushing weapons right? the most effective way to use them right now is to crouch walk and wait for enemies to come around corners. which is not fun. please do something about this.

    You are probably suffering from the bad end of lag compensation.

        I'm on the bad side of the lag comp.  I'm in the same boat, awesome KD's in the other CODs but in BO2 I'm tanking hard.  I have to fight hard just to go positive.

        I dont know, probably.

         

        In the 4 hours I've played since midnite release I have had 2 or 3 good games the rest were impossible to play due to lag compensation. After I got the probation warning crap for leaving games because of lag I have not touched the MP since.

          I'm on the same boat, one launch night I was playing fine and had a positive k/d but then the following day was horrible. I cannot play a single game without lag comp. raping my experience. So far, I've only had about 10% of my games that were bearable to play. This is ridiculous, I'm sure Treyarch will do something to cope with that and I know it takes time but this game is just horrible as of now and it's all due to lag compensation making me it's *****. Also, I don't know if anyone else is having horrible spawns?

        Honestly yes, i have the same problem with actually shooting a guy and watching the kill cam it telling a different story. Wait a bit before this **** gets sorted out. *COUGH-COUGH* 3arc......

    I am on the mega bad side of lag compensation. It seems if I host I have a terrible game. I noticed earlier someone else hosted the party I was in on Black Ops 2 and I did really well and my bullets were registering beautifully, I was having so much fun. Sadly, this seems rare at the moment

    going through the same thing. Im a 3.5 kd player from blops and mw3 and im hovering around a 1.6 right now

    Same here. in mw3 i had around around a 1.80 k/d and a few weeks ago my game on mw3 peaked and i was putting up huge scores, so i expected to come into bops doing well. I did on the night of release and had a 2.10 k/d...now its 1.44.......its so frustrating but im playing through it because i love the franchise and have always supported it. But the future is not looking to good. i cant figure out where treyarch went wrong.

    Because the system can't be gamed anymore to boost K/D. There is going to be an adjustment period, but good players will continue to be good... the rest will be exposed.

    Maybe you benefited from lag in previous games and this game is more balanced?  Just a thought.

    Elite says you have 0.591 k/d in MW3, and 0.876 in Blackops

        It doesn't matter, their stats aren't tracking, saving, or updating properly. If you look on xbox live and on the call of duty elite website, you'll get 2 different results wether you are doing it live or stepping away for a while.

    My advice inwhich I do the same is play solo league play or w friends ur choice? Most league play games I've played have been fair . My debate on this is that people have been playing this for months , w league play playing these troublesome players is gonna be slim, you'll play all people based on ur skill. When I jump in public games it seems to be groups of clans, friends etc...  Or join a good clan n play w them?

    Same man... Went from a 6.01 k/d in mw2 and 4.75 in mw3 to a 2.10 in blops 2....

    Same here. 3:1 K/D in MW3, 2.5:1 in BO, 1.7 in BO2.

     

    I've tried using every weapon type with as many kinds of playstyles as possible, and I've only had sucess on longer range battles.

     

    What I've found is beating me the majority of the time is the perk Toughness. Simple because I'm not using it while my enemies are, I'm losing gun fights even though I react much faster and fire first.

     

    I'm actually afraid to fight a sniper at any range as it is. Every time I fight one I shoot them a few times but it's as if I just stood there and did nothing. Fighting at close range against other assault rifles/LMGs/submachineguns is also pretty horrible.

            Basically he's referring to people's "internet penis".
            It's a reference to a joke in which guys compare penis sizes and whoever's is bigger is more of a man or something of the sort.
            In this case, e-peen is your internet penis, meaning whoever has the highest K/D is a "better player" which is an opinion, as some people focus more on objective-based games that don't require as many kills.

              KD may not be something that a lot of people are concerned with, but it does say a lot when players who are consistently over 2.00+ since COD4, then all of a sudden tank on this game.  I am in the same boat as a lot of you.

               

              I think I am suffering from lag comp, since every game I am at best 3 bars, and I constantly get connection interrupted.  I have only played for about 3-4 hours, and I have had it with this game.  I shoot first and die first....every gun I try, I always am at a disadvantage.  It is not fun, the other games were fun at the start...this is awful.

               

              I am tempted to give back the game, because I just can't understand what to do differently.  I have tried all the objectives, styles of play and still no luck.  I consider myself a decent player (well based on the last games anyways) and this game, I just cnanot figure out.

    Good evening all.

     

    My name is Dan13371337 and I am a victim. I enjoy Call of Duty, and I got pretty good (as of MW3). I have a 1.3 KD on Black Ops, but I would just mess around most of the time. I have a 2.25 KD in MW3. Now in Black Ops 2, I can't even get a 1.5 KD.

     

    If I popped in Black Ops or MW3, I could pull 2+ KD games 5 times in a row. In Black Ops 2, I'm LUCKY to get a game higher than a 2 KD. And that's pathetic. I'm losing every single gunfight now. If I kill somebody another enemy finds me within 3 seconds. I can't do anything.

     

    That's the thing: I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! I don't control my gun fights. My skill doesn't apply on Black Ops 2. If I drop shot, autoaim saves the enemy. If I run around the map, somebody spawns behind me. If I run anywhere in the open, I get killed by a camper. I'm losing my battles big time.

     

    I'm not a bad player, but Black Ops 2 decided I'm going to be one.

    Lol sorry to tell all ya this but.....

     

     

    Black ops 2 take real skills,  no more depending on footsteps to get the high K/D, 

     

    you need tactis, need to know the layout of the map, need to be one step ahead

     

     

     

     

    Simple put  black ops is more difficult then past C.O.D and it require it own skills set to be good

     

     

     

    btw shotguns are just fine, i won 11 FFA in a row with  nothing but a shotgun

    well for me all the call of duty my k/d is 2.68. and now Black ops 2 my k/d is 3.09, you guys are just noobs that cant play! i beast alone, i beast other clan, im a lonewolf. beast everytime i play, maybe its your connections. maybe you guys have horrible connections. but its okay i have sorry @$$ connection and i still beast.

      Above is a perfect example of someone who probably never plays for the objective and kill whores for their previous YouTube worthy nuke or Moab.

        Totally agree! K/D isn't important - playing should be fun and a high K/D is fine but theirs more then that!

    If you only play non-objective games like TDM (as I do) then your KD is a reasonable guide to how well your doing, I play with a lot of randoms so my win/loss stat is a little bit more out of my control.

    In other games the objective is your goal and your KD shouldn't make a difference, it's almost meaningless compared to flags capped, etc.

     

    That said I totally agree with MKElite, play the game because you enjoy it above everything else and if you don't go do something else.
