Temp Fix for PS3 Multiplayer "Server Error"

Create a new PSN account and you should be able to play multiplayer.

 

I know it is not a long term fix but it works for now.

 

I was playing PS3 multiplayer 4am eastern time, got disconnected and still cannot reconnect.

 

I created a new PSN account and can play.

 

I believe that many of our PSN accounts got corrupted.

 

Just my 2 cents

    The account theory sounds plausible, I have tried to matchmake on two consoles and have had no success. Could ranks or stats be lost?

    Thats my thought as well. I can log in with other accounts. Our accounts may have been banned for freeze ups. Who knows and it doesn't seem like anyone is offering a solution.

    I think its possible not that our accounts are corrupted but their new banning system....banned most people.

     

    Though it is also possible that storage on their side got screwed up and they lost the linked data to our accounts. Before i lost my ability to connect I lost 5 items and didnt have the corresponding unlock tokens.

    We need to keep this thread and the other one at the top of the page so the devs see it.  I think you guys are onto something.  Would explain why its only happening to certain people while their friends are on.  For some reason our accounts have become corrupted, accidentally banned etc.

      hm maybe been accidently banned but i dont know, there is ALOT of people saying they can't get in a game... I highly doubt everyone is banned

    until you leave the game you joined and that new account will become unuseable

    the only thing is do you think this could happen with the new account ive been playing on a different account but i had so much unlocked its really pissed me off but what can we do dont look like anythings gonna be done about it :/

    It is strange how our accounts are the ones that for some reason are selectively unable to acess the online features. But really I don't feel like making another account toplay when I am so far into it on my current account. I just hioe that whatever is wrong gets fixed soon.

      Threads like this will help the devs narrow the problem.  Keep the thread clean and they will see it or someone will forward it to them. 

       

      It makes total sense  that the problem is with our accounts being denied access rather then something with the servers.  BOps1 had 150k people on them last week and MW3 the week after launch had like 700k so 250k or so people are definately not bogging the servers.

      It must be related to freezing while host, the game thinks you are intentionally pulling the plug!

        Yep I agree. My main account dont work Had nearly prestige Im gutted. My other account I never use works fine. The main account is registered in another country so dunno if thats a problem

      the only thing is i read on another thread that it could take three weeks to fix dont know how true that is but im not waiting that long to play a game that i payed 60 quid for who knows how long it wiil take.

    Yeah I'm with you on the Accounts thing. But you don't want to make another account I got to lvl 15 on my temporary one when the same Error thing happened again it was so infuriating. Just stick with league play, most people can still access it.

      Ive never had the freeze issue and only been playing since last night so i doubt it anything to do with that.

       

      It was fine until about 1pm today (GMT) but now I just get the error message.

        Im also having the same problem. It seems to be a problem with public matches, I tried League Play and I was able to go online but my custom classes were gone. When ever I try Public Match I get "An error occurred while trying to find a session, please try again."

    FFS 2 minutes and this thread had already made it to page #2.  Wow.  People do not know how to read I guess.  You dont even have to use the search function as there are 150 threads about the problem.

      temp fix....

      1. create new psn until issue is resovled

      2. play league

      3. go to any of your friends in a game, click on theatre mode it will bring you to a list of there games just back out of it and then bam your online. pick a game

    It's a session error, just like it says.  Because of a disconnection mid-game, and the session/game is frozen, it will not allow that username to search for a new session/game because the server thinks you are still in that original session/game. 

     

    The devs need to dump all frozen sessions from the server to release those frozen users, and find a way to stop this from happening.

    I like the sounds of what I am hearing from this thread. The only question's it does not answer is about the freezing and rebooting of our PS3's

      That's not a a server issue, that's like getting BSOD on windows.  It's the interaction of the software with the hardware, and when the hardware gets a command or half-command that it doesnt understand, it will just **** its pants.

       

      Both types of issues will require patches, but an intial action would be restarting the activision-side servers to free up any frozen game sessions.

    hacving issue also. havrnt been able to get online since 2am last nigh. i keep getting an error.

        what about how the game freezes at the loading screen. that only happens if u are connected to the internet. if ur not connected to the internet it works fine. 

         

        is that the servers fault???
