Posted by cookiedood on Nov 9, 2012 6:57 PM

Below is Treyarch’s posted security & enforcement policy for Black Ops II. All infractions undergo a thorough review process by the Treyarch security team before enforcement, and penalty is not subject to further review.

Temporary bans can range from 48 hours to 2 weeks, depending on the severity of the infraction. Permanent bans are lasting and final.

A minor offense is one in which no quantifiable damage has been done to another user or the game community at large. An extreme offense is one in which a player has caused detriment to other users or has organized large groups of users to commit additional offenses.

Any user who runs a modified version of game code or uses a modified game profile is subject to penalty.

First offense: User will be permanently banned from playing the game online, will have their stats & emblems reset, and will be blocked permanently from appearing in leaderboards.

Console users who modify their hardware or profile data will also be reported to console manufacturers. PC users on Steam will be reported to the Steam enforcement team.

Boosting

Any user who colludes with another user to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlock is subject to penalty.

How strict will they be about boosting? For instance, if there is cage match/face-off...and my friend doesn't feel like putting up a fight, should I NOT kill him out of principle?

I mean if we really wanted to, we could have one of us pretend to be trying, but fail every time. - Excuse: I let my younger sibling/non-gaming friend play for bit.

Don't let your younger sibling play Black Ops II. There are plenty of more appropriate and more enjoyable games for him/her to try for a short time and develop fine motor skills, reaction and problem-solving, although I accept that it is a nice notion for them to play something their older sibling is in to.

Perhaps find a game where you are joining them on an even footing. I know lots of kids play Minecraft. Plus there's co-op Little Big Planet 1 & 2, both featuring a "customise your character" that could set them up for adult themes later.

Remember that just because others under 16 play COD and that there is no rule or legal consequence for this action, does not mean it is ideal.

(these are part of the rules you don't get told but have to figure out for yourself)

It is good that it is written

It is good that it is posted

It is good that is clear

    - someone will still cry foul when they  break them as they do not understand it, or think it does not apply to them

Yes, but we can always go back to the CoC for the game and copy/paste the rules for them to read.

And, swearing getting you in trouble? Yeah, I get kids play this game BUT it is intended for adults. So, as a game intended for adults, shouldn't language NOT be monitored as much? I swear a lot even though my clan has clear rules on not swearing to other players. If parents are letting their kids play this game, then, they know that swearing is a part of it. If they don't, then they are dumb and shouldn't be having kids.

It should be if you are under 16 (maybe 15), and they find out, then you can get banned. IMO.

But then again...I'm going to be complaining about all the people swearing at me for being a girl, so that report button will be coming in handy.

I think people have taken what was written above and asumed any swearing falls into the category...

That is not what I read:

        Offensive Behavior

Any user who is found to use aggressive, offensive, derogatory or racially charged language is subject to penalty.

I think your comment about being victimized for being a girl could, however, fall into this category (as well as my race)
