Elite is free and the existing clans will carry on to bo2 the only difference will be that they will reset all stats for bo2 and keep everything the same for mw3. So I would try to clear your browser and try to do it again or just wait till bo2 comes out and try to make one then or the other option is join a clan in mw3 now and hopefully they will carry on with it to bo2

Thanks for the reply.  Tried clearing my browser (actualy using another browser I never use), logged in again, still won't let me make a clan with the name 'dfdfsdsfdsafds'.
