That's great, but when you go back to access Elite via the app you get the white screen again.

Also, I have been reading several people getting this 6.03 update, never heard of it, mine was 4.xx

    You are one of the lucky ones cookiedood. Wish I can get mine to work. Tried everything you can think of and still white screen.
    
    By the way, again, I never heard of a 6.03 Elite Version. I have only heard of a 4.02 Version

      spoke too soon when console turned off the white screen returned
      so only way is through mw3 menu every time now
      i tried not updating from 4.02 but everytime i said no it would sign me out of psn and couldnt get access anyway
      kinda annoying as i cant get to see what challenges ar now as they dont load in firefox or ie9 on pc or through safari and atomic browsers on ipad

        To see operations and challenges I use Elite via PC.
        
        To kick a member I need to use Elite via PS3 console. Also I have to access it via the game and I can't access it via app
        
        To enjoy the backround image of my clan I have to go to Elite via Console
        
        Seriously ??? I need to use 2 different sources to perform tasks?
        
        To make it worse now I will have to load MW3 to see clan via console and then load BO2 to see my clan on BO2.
        
        FIX THE WHITE SCREEN PLEASE

        On my PS3 FATTY it works fine but on my PS3 SLIM I get the white screen.
        Could this be the reason?

DK_OUCH you might be onto something here. My friend's Elite app works from console and he has ( as you put it a FATTY ) Now I have the SLIM and I get the White screen.

We have found that the white or black screen is a display issue. Please try performing a video reset on your PlayStations as this will resolve the issue. Here's the official link from PlayStation Support including a video: http://playstation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/262/kw/reset

For those inquiring about two versions of Elite...The console app essentially acts like a 2-in-1 app. When Black Ops 2 releases and you launch Elite from the XMB, you can choose either MW3 Elite or Black Ops 2 Elite. The Black Ops 2 side will go live at launch.

Sony tech support walked me through every possible troubleshooting step that could be taken other than completely wiping my system and i still have the same frozen white screen with sound.

  ATVIAssist thanks for the troubleshooting steps but still doesn't work.
  
  1- I have tried every single option in display setting with HDMI since I have a flat screen HD TV and nothing worked
  
  2- I even took it a step further and connected my PS3 to a standard TUBE TV that does not have HDMI and used the component cables that came with the PS3 and tried every display option ( now I get a BLACK SCREEN ) instead of a white screen. still doesn't work
  
  3- From all the people I have talked to, it seems the people with a SLIM PS3 get the white screen, the ones with older model PS3 it works.
  
  4- It use to work fine before your update of 4.02 with HDMI cables set. After update seems like the ones that had it work had to disable HDMI why ?
  
  5- Even if it works without HDMI, why should I have to switch between HDMI back and forth to make ELITE work? That is something you needs to be fixed
  
  6- I honestly believe now that this ELITE APP will not work till you guys recognize that this is not something that can be fixed via display settings. Another update with a fix needs to take place.
  
  7- Still don't have a solid answer as to why there are 2 versions. Since the BO2 side hasn't launched then why are some people downloading 6.03 version and some 4.02
  
  8- Can you please relay this information to BEACHHEAD so they can create a fix and send an update?
  
  9- Please, don't ask me to take a picture of a white screen, the problem is out there and many have this issue. Just help us.

    I too tried multiple tvs several diffrerent HDMI cords with no such luck.

      kalebf not sure when Beachhead will recognize this is not a display setting issue on our end but a problem with the upgrade on their end. Hope they recognize this issue fast and fix it.

        I have no clue beachhead is clueless when it comes to running a company.They can not even acknowledge that this is an update issue. I have downloaded and purchased countless other apps and DLC for other games and not once has my ps3 hard froze on me until this ELITE app.I could sit back and be patient about the whole issue if they would just come out and say they are working on the problem and of course fix it. Instead they come on here once again pointing the finger at sony just as they did with the extra free month premium users were suppose to get.

        Exactly, like you said, I have used many apps and games, not one time did I have to disable HDMI ( which defeats the whole purpose of a HD TV ) or change display settings. There is a problem and it needs to be fixed BEACHHEAD.

        I must be one of the few lucky ones. I did the update and it works for me. I see the option to pick between BO2 and MW3..I'm on a slim PS3. I'll get the update version numer when i get home.

        Yes for both questions.Update appeared maybe a week ago and i accepted. Did it's thing like normal and 5 minutes later it was up and running. Have u guys tried to uninstall and reinstall?

Hello,

We are aware of the white screen issue and are working on a fix as soon as possible. That said we have a troubleshooting step that may work for you in the meantime.

Start up the PS3 in Safe Mode: (Note if you have a PS3 Slim then disregard turning off and on the MAIN POWER switch)

1. Verify that the power indicator on the PS3 system is solid red, and then turn off the MAIN POWER switch.

2. Turn on the MAIN POWER switch, then touch and hold the power button.

3. Keep touching the power button even after you hear a short beep after 5 seconds.

4. After 10 seconds, you will hear another short beep and the system will shut down (release the button at this point).

5. Touch and hold the power button again.

6. Continue touching the power button even after you hear a short beep after 5 seconds.

7. Release the button when two short beeps are emitted after 7 seconds.

8. As instructed by the on-screen message, press the PS button to start up in safe mode.

9. Then select "Restore File System". This attempts to repair all areas on the hard disk drive where files can be saved. Corrupted data may be erased if it cannot be recovered.

10. The PS3 will restore and then automatically restart. Then try accessing Elite through the XMB. If that does not work, try accessing Elite from within MW3.

Please keep us updated on whether this helps to resolve the white screen issue. Thank you all for your patience.

That is one of the steps I tried with sony tech support it still game me the white screen.But I am glad yall are working on a fix for this.

    ATVIAssist the troubleshooting steps you provided did NOT help and instead gave me a BLACK screen when I tried to launch elite and I had to remove the power cord to turn off my PS3 because it wouldn't turn off.
    
    On another note, I would like to thank vlyballftw for the solution he posted on another thread. This whole time people were saying disable HDMI and turn it off I was thinking I needed to remove HDMI. I totally forgot this setting was there. Basically, go to SETTINGS, then SYSTEM SETTINGS then CONTROL FOR HDMI and turn it off. Once I turned it off it worked.
    
    With that said, WHY ON EARTH would an app shelling another app mess up the HDMI CONTROL section? I actually enjoy this feature turned on because by pressing the PS BUTTON it turns on my PS3, TV and audio in one shot. and when I shut down it does all 3.
    
    Either way, yes it works, but BEACHHEAD I still think and demand you guys fix this issue. Not sure why your programmers and developers couldn't figure out this solution from the start.
    
    Actually, second thought, don't fix it, I probably will have another problem from another update you guys do.

      Here are the steps to resolve the issue.
      
      Turn on the Playstation 3 system
      Navigate to the Settings menu.
      Go to System Settings
      Go to “Control for HDMI”
      Set Control for HDMI off.
      Launch Call of Duty Elite from the XMB.
      
      We've forwarded the information along to the appropriate parties. If there is any updates, they'll be shared with the community by Beachhead.

        That is a step for a workaround of the issue do they plan on fixing the actual issue.I don't think I should have to sacrifice services that my ps3 system offers just to use the app.I enjoy turning on my ps3 and it turning everything else on for me.Elite is not the only app out there just the only one at the moment that's not completely compatible with the ps3 system due to the most recent update.Just goes to show that they were not even actually working on the problem. That a user came up with a solution and you just copied his solution and acted like beachhead actually did something.

        We do not have an answer to that at the moment. Until more details are presented this option can be used, or launching Elite through MW3.

        Over the weekend I was at my brothers house and saw that he needed to update Elite. So I accepted the update and it worked perfectly on his slim also. The version of Elite on mine and his PS3. is 4.2 i believe. Far from 6.03.

        Reason it worked is because your brothers slim had the Control for HDMI turned OFF.
        
        As for the 6.03 version I still don't have an answer as to why some people were downloading that version. Can anyone with an XBOX verify if that is an XBOX version?

        The Xbox doesn't show versions however both consoles have the same version; on the splash screen it gives the option to launch Elite for MW3 or Black Ops 2 (which is not functional until release).

        6.03 is the latest version; all PS3 users that see the new splash screen and option to choose Black Ops 2 view or MW3 have it. The updates did no push through, when Elite is launched through MW3.

elite gives me white screen until i use the mw3 disc in my ps3 and works fine via pc i use chrome and its under maintance so it should all be good 2 go in a week when black ops 2 is here
