Kind Of confused about elite2.0

It seems elite 2.0 has been on the back burner. It seemed that clans and elite were a big part of the launch this time last year. I went to GameStop and even they were confused about the plans for elite. I'm kind of unsure about if elite is needed or if clans are going to be as big of part of bo2. I wish they  would clarify some detials for elite and if there will be any tie ins with clans, plus wouldn't it have a similar ranking system.

    Elite will be updated to Elite 2.0 for Black Ops II. More information regarding Elite will be revealed later this month.

      Hahahaha, that was basically a copy/paste from last months announcement. Of course I could perpetually say " details to come". Come on, they missed the mark again, and people/I are/am getting irritated with the fact that there have been no details at all, not even tid-bits.

    they are gonna talk about elite later, but i'm thinking (just guessing) elite will be more integrated into the game like combat record in the first black ops, and the premium will be basically clan stuff and operations. maybe the map packs will be included, but hopefully will only be available at the same time as the rest of your console, just already paid for.

    They're being careful in how they're selling Elite 2.0 this time around

     

    Remember, they made a ton of errors when they launched the Elite service last year:

     

    - Clan Operations & Clan Challenges were delayed

    - Barely any clan support for the first few months

    - Elite Service was not functionable for the first month

    - Bugs with the COD Elite site

    - Despite promises that Elite will make it to PC, it's September & they have no COD Elite service

    - Problems with the DLC model fragmenting the playerbase

    - No leaderboards on COD Elite site for Spec Ops/Survival Mode for MW3

     

    and the list goes on.......

     

    What they did was promise more but delivered less on launch so I'm assuming they don't want to make the same mistake therefore this is why you haven't alot about

    Elite 2.0 details were supposed to be announced by the End of Sept.  - I asked @OneofSwords about this and he is now hearing "soon" hopefully this week or next.

      Did you really say "hopefully"?  This would indicate that Elite is something you are looking forward to.  I just don't get people these days.  The entire Elite thing was a scam.  The DLC was about 2/3 MP maps and a few of them were the completely broken Face Off ones.  I appreciated the spec ops missions, but would not have paid for them had I known that they were part of the DLC.  Then the whole elite premium service debacle.

       

      Look, the base version (the free one) worked fine in my opinion.  But how many more times do people need to be shown that that these guys at Beachhead are not up to the task.  MW3 didn't have the premium service up and running for months.  They can't even get their act together to figure out what they can and can't offer (same line of thought as vims).  And finally, even when the premium was supposed to be working, wonky things happened to the various clans during operations and challenges.

       

      If they are looking to do a pay service, I think it is highly likely that the clan stuff will put in there to help sell it.  But come on, what did it get us when our clans reached lvl 50?  Most of us were fully prestiged (or to the point we wanted to be) and I'm sorry the silly extras are not worth the $$, but more importantly not worth supporting this service anymore.

       

      This is just my opinion, sorry /rant.

        Last time I got the Hardened Edition so it came with Premium Elite - this time Hardened does not get Elite so I'm only purchasing a regular copy of the game but still curious about Elite - to me Elite was worth it just for the DLC, anything else I used out of it was just gravy. On MW3 I would agree that for me Spec Ops missions were a complete waste of time (I don't play them) and I used the Faceoff maps very little.

         

        I still want to get the Elite 2.0 details so I can make my a decision on what I'm doing this time around.

          I would like to know if our clans will be carrying over, and all the perks with it.


          We have 10 hrs of double xp to use, can we use it on BOPs 2???

            don't worry

            For some reason some people think they have a mw3 clan

            But we don't we have a cod elite clan not a mw3 clan or a black ops clan it's a cod elite clan

            it's not supposed to be game specific that's why ops are game modes like core TDM that can be counted regardless of which copy they are playing

            Elites going nowhere as they've announced elite with info to,come soon (lol)

            So your elite clans not going anywhere and we won't all "start over " because like I say it's not game specific

            The first thing the will be doing is,adding levels as the maxed clans (the real players that put time into clan)

            Will be renewing with no where to take their clan?
