"This Clan already exists"

I'm trying to create a clan, but it always says "This Clan already exists". I've tried many different names including "sadf2tgdsfg" and "eyh809fnvbjn09" and "agsisoemthbeosnhioes", but someone seems to have great taste with clan names and every single name I've tried seems to be taken.

Or this might just be a bug.

I'm guessing bug but with 30 some thousand clans out there you may just be unlucky.

Hello zathor,

Do you have an existing clan? What console do you play on and what's your gamertag/PSN ID? When did you register on the ELiTE site? This info will help us figure out why you can't create a clan.

I registered to ELiTE site when it went live. I play with PS3 and PC.

Like phxs72 you might be placing names of clans that are already in use or prohibited. Those random clan names "sadf2tgdsfg" and "eyh809fnvbjn09" and "agsisoemthbeosnhioes", did you actually type those in?

Yes. I also tried "sfawj5vaw45134wa", "gsselgt885dsnmp", "ZathorIsHandsome" and "ZathorIsTheBest". All already taken.

Also happening to me, no matter what random stuff I try. I'm logged into Elite and connected with my Xbox gamertag, but don't pay. Now that it's free for Black Ops 2 players, I thought you could go setup a clan now (like mentioned in the press release).

This is weird, my friend isn't a elite member of Call of Duty nor a online player but he did became one later. He was able to make a Clan but I wonder why I can't? This is just too weird.
