Well, MS won't let this happen since they don't accept products that are superior on the PS3.

Currently Being ModeratedRe: Why not Modern Warfare 3 installing in PS3 Hard Drive?
To echo the sentiments of many, my biggest issue is decreasing the life span of my PS3. Why they thought it was acceptable to throttle the drive the entire time the game was being played is beyond me. Does anyone know how/who to contact at activision/whoever about this? I want a straight answer to my question but I can't figure out how to send an email!

I have both systems xbox 360 and playstation . On the xbox my dvd player broke from playing mw2 . The dvd player takes a beating when playing mw but I did not know I could install the game on the hdd (xbox) so I did . The loading time was very fast and the system produced less heat which xbox had problem's in the past with over heating .
Now my playstion 3 does not have that option to install mw3 and I am worried that my bluray player on ps3 will do the same . I notice the dvd drive is getting loader the more I play mw3. I think It's a disadvantage for ps3 not to have this option . I really hope they change that in the future . Who can I contact via internet to voice my opinion ?

Try installing a SSD into your PS3. It helps, but does not reduce the wear on your Optical Drive

So I know this post is months old. However just an observation. MW3 is available for purchase on the Playstation Store. Which of course, if bought that way it would be fully downloaded to your HDD, has anyone tried this? Not really sure if it would make any difference.
Also to add that when you have the disk. The majority of the game is downloaded to the HDD. Just look at your MW3 file its fairly large. The disk is only needed to play the game. Like PC games, they are on the PC's HDD but you still need the disk. This is done to combat piracy.
Someone may have posted this already, wasn't reading through all the pages of posts. Just an FYI.
