The point of support streaks was that they were supposed to help your team, not punish the other team. MW3 got it wrong by including things like the airdrop trap, remote sentry, stealth bomber, juggernaut recon (which was *always* used like an assault juggernaut) and EMP in the support streaks when they should have been assault streaks.

*Edit* The following switched to Assault would have been better: airdrop trap: 4KS, remote sentry removed, stealth bomber 7KS, juggernaut recon and EMP 10KS.

UAV, Ballistic Vests, advanced UAV, escort airdrop are fine - perhaps a Blackbird (advanced UAV on steroids) style streak, extra perks or other temporary enhancements for the team  would have worked.

As it was in MW3 I would have preferred it to have not been there, and had Assault and Specialist only.

So no, I won't miss Support streaks.

Most of my classes have support, but I love Specialist, even if I never get more than one kill after hitting One Man Army.  Using support has gotten me three EMPs or Escort Airdrops in a single domination match a couple times, with a high death count to go along with it.

Using those same classes, since I don't bother changing them very often, in Team Deathmatch or KC, I am lucky to get one advanced UAV or stealth bomber.  Support is perfectly made to reward objective players, and as the person capturing and defending flags, planting bombs, and taking out enemy equipment, I earned the big guns just as much as the guy who can rack up a kill streak.   Black Ops 1 was in most ways better than MW3, but Support and Specialist are what kept me playing.

Support doesn't magically give bad players an advantage over the "leet" knobs, it rewards a different playstyle, and with a dozen game modes it is very shortsighted to think there is only one way to play.

I just think that game changing streaks have to be earned, and that obtaining something like a riot shield juggernaut suit with little to no effort is cheap. Changing from killstreaks to pointstreaks was a good idea, but one that needed to be taken further, with 2 or 3 points towards streaks awarded for objectives achieved.

Domination, for example, should have had 3 points for a cap and a bonus point for a defensive kill. That way even the most useless of players could benefit from the assault or specialist packages, and it encourages objective play with killstreaks available much more quickly than by K/D padding / kill farming - meaning the kill farmer would quickly end up having  his streak ruined by hostile killstreaks and either play the game properly or rage quit.

Kill farming was a problem with MW2 as people would kill farm their way to a nuke, making objective play redundant (except on SnD). You could be losing a game of Domination 12-199 with the enemy having all 3 flags, call in a nuke and win.

I personally never used support as I found it cheap. For example, running juggernaut recon on FFA was cheap because people wouldn't team up to take you out, and you could instead divide and conquer your way to the win with no-one having a chance of taking you out 1-on-1. Don't get me started on the Recon Drone, either. It's FFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!! levels of annoying.

Seemingly Black Ops 2 is ditching support in favour of a point system which favours objective play over kill farming.

absolutely not.  play the objectives.  nothing burns me more is to have someone with 50 kills in kill confirmed and only have about 2500 points.  they sit in corners with thier assassin, blind eye, and sit rep.

SUPPORT WAS THE BEST THING IN MW3. BECAUSE IT BALANCED THE GAME.IMAGEN SUPPORT WASN´T IN MW3. YOU´RE  PLAYING TDM AND SUDDENLY THERE IS AN ENEMY REAPER THEN AFTER THE AC-130 AND YOU ARE SPAWN TRAPPED AND THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS CALL A STUPID UAV OR CARE PACKAGE BECAUSE ITS DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO GET HIGHER STREAK. THAT IS VERY UNFAIR FOR THOSE PLAYERS. THATS WHY I LIKE THE SUPPORT KILL STREAK BECAUSE IT GIVES PLAYERS A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN CALLING A UAV

I suspect you didn't read my post through. The basic principle was that game changing streaks need to be earned - through good objective play.

Both kill farming and coasting your way to streaks without earning them are, in my eyes, cheap.

I suppose you've never heard of Blind Eye or a Stinger, have you? MW2 is full of players like you that panic, poop themselves and die when a powerful enemy killstreak shows up (I pop on my Cold Blooded Pro / Stinger class and do what is necessary). Relax, put on your anti air class and shoot that aircraft down.

I'm not the most skilled player but think that the high stuff needs to be earned. If you're not able to get higher kill streaks - practice until you can. When I started playing MW2 I had UAV / Care Package / Pred because that's all I could get before I died. Now, I have the Pred as my first streak and use it to help push on to higher ones because I know I can often get it.

I think I've already posted this in this thread but I'll stat it again. Support wouldn't be so bad if it did what it was meant to do.SUPPORT YOUR TEAM. Remote sentry, steath bomber, and recon jugg have no place being in there. Everything else I'm mostly ok with. Granted working my a$$ off for an ac130 just to have an emp smash it before entering the map and seeing that guy going 18-43 is beyond aggrevating. And no, I'm not a kill whore earning these. I jump on objectives and earn my streaks properly so having you run around spraying your gun at everything that moves just to get your stealth bomber and whipping my team out is very frustrating.

On a side note, you can defintely earn big boy kill streaks by being an objective player. Just the other day I got up to an 8 point streak without ever killing a guy. Took a riot shield and stinger into battle and just capped flags and shot down uavs. That's how a real man plays support

Well said boss.  Support is terrible, and for the kid below you you said run in a building to counter a stealth or call in an EMP when one is out, you can't and I've been killed by stealths inside buildings.  I'm a player who defends B and I have dropped quite a few MOABS.  Support k/s are such a bad idea, kids going 15-40 and killing me when I'm 20-0.  People camp in every game so get over it, people always want to complain.  If you're upset about no support then get good enough to earn k/s, like everyone else has to do.
