So here we are, 10 months down the road.
Elite turned out to be a big disappointment.
The long awaited Clan Operations didn't work and when problems were solved, scheduling was horrible. Community's pledge for double times suitable for Europeans and others for US players were ignored. Saturday's Operation suitable for European players was for many months Code Domination and the last months is always Core Kill Confirmed.
I made a thread, months ago, discussing the need for Clan Operation Leaderboards during the Operation. participants should be able to know what is the score for Silver, for Gold and for Champion. It was like talking to a wall. Implement a true Clan leaderboard. The real leaderboards are DURING an Operation. There must be a live leaderboard during the clan Operation so at least the Clan Leader can see classification and know p.e. How many kills for Silver, how many kills for Gold etc. and also to see the performance of the top Clans. You can update the Clan Operation statistics with half an hour intervals. I am not talking for true live leaderboards which is very difficult to implement.
Elite Clan Challenges. This started late and at first was working OK. Two weeks ago hell broke lose and I really cannot understand why. Of course one would say that Clan Challenges are still in beta phase ..bla bla bla. This is no excuse after 10months of going live. Challenges are a nice concept. They last for 23 hours or a week and give the opportunity for all Regions to participate.
Clans. Major changes needed. Where to start. Clans need a messaging system. Clans need a co-leader function. Clans need the option to be able to delete comments from Clan MSG board (at least the leader). Nobody , NOBODY cares for the current Elite Clans Leaderboards. They are useless and a waste of proccessing power. Update the Elite Clan main page. At least the Clan leader should have the ability to edit and delete comments from the Clan feed. Allow a few more characters in Clan "Message of the Day". For some Clans this is the fastest way for the Clan leader to pass a message to all Clan members.
A question. Did the needless focus on Elite TV got you anything? Nobody cares if iJustine plays Free-for-all good or bad.
Sigh. I could write a whole essay on how an Epic fail is Elite. All the good things are burried under continuous server availability problems, weird errors, lost data from databases etch.
It would be nice to see a statistic on how many Elite Premium/Founders will renew their Elite membership for Black Ops II.
And For the record, yes its disgusting they tried to sell this for everything it is not. Basically the fact they put any work into this at all is a nice bonus. I like your leaderboard ideas but arent there already live leaderboards during Ops? Personally I dont think anyone should have to enroll in clan challenges. Just have them always on like regular in game challenges.
