Automating Clan Messeging / Hierarchy for Elite 2.0

http://www.callofdutyeliteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1152

Please see the link above or read the black text below (Its the same thing).  I originally posted this in July.  I was recently directed to post suggestions to developers here on this site, so i'm reposting this here.  Since that time i have been in live chats and tweeting this to Youtubers and to @Beachheadstudios.  I just want to ensure this stays fresh in the minds of BeachHead Studios.  Possibly even get a thumbs up from the Devs.  I'm not concerned about getting credit for this.  I just want to throw this out there.

Just keep this in mind as well.  Its a good idea to delegate responsibilities to other members of the clan, but only to the extent of keeping the clan active and playing in the clan ops.  Not to Enlist the clan in any ops and not to recruit members.  That is the Clan Leaders responsibility.  Only the clan leader can Enlist in ops, Kick players, add players, change and re-arrange teams.

This idea is mainly for this reason.  We need a messaging system in Elite to notify members of Upcoming Operations and Challenges.  Preferrably through PSN or Xbox Live.  Not through social media.  Having a Hierarchy in place would mean the clan leader only needs to notify 15 other people of an operation.  5 of those people would each have 17 members to notify.  This is the most efficient way to notify all 100 members of a clan.  Not all members of Clans are on Call of Duty at all times.  Sometimes they play other games (Heaven help us) but its the truth. lol.  Hence, the need for this to be included into the New and Improved Elite.  If you want to go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (so to speak) and include social media in this.  That is your call.  All i'm asking for is PSN and Xbox Live messaging to be automated so that myself and 5 other members can notify the masses of a clan.

Another note:  I'm sure you've seen that some clans are much larger than 100 members.  These clans have Regions to them.  East Coast, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Etc......  If those clans are smart then Its based off of time zones to keep their gamers playing with people that live closer to the host player for better connectivity.  Maybe you could accomodate these clans as well with this idea.  Once the clan meets 100 members or hits level 50, whichever comes first, they have the option to continue to grow.  Take "TheWickedElite" on Xbox for example.  That clan has members across the globe.  What would make running that clan smoother is to have one person enlisting 5 or 6 clans in every operation and creating an automated message from elite that notifies each subordinate player of an upcoming operation.

If there are any suggestions on how to improve upon this idea, please comment.

I think we should make this happen. Let me know what you think.

I would like having a hierarchy inside the clan for people to report to, that would help streamline the teams. To have some way, in Elite, to designate Leaders and give them responsibilities...

Example...

Each clan currently can only hold 100 players. This is based off that number.

1 Clan Leader (General of the Army) - Leads 2 teams (Team of 6 gamers, team of 4 gamers including the Clan leader... probably youtubers to help recruit and spread the word of the clan, and play games) Preferably people with the capability to record gameplay via Capture card, do commentary, edit videos... etc... Or maybe just the best of the best players in the clan. Highest K/D ratio's, Highest score per minute.... give the players something to work up to. Something to feel proud of.

5 Co-Leaders (Officers) Each Co-Leader leads 3 teams of 6 gamers.

Do the math. It adds up

All players can rank inside the clan up to a certain point. Rank should be based on objective gameplay. How much you have contributed to the clan. Example... How many times a player was MVP... S.P.M.... etc. This way, if a Co-Leader leaves. The clan leader can easily find the best player in the clan to replace him.

This would also, help us quickly find the people that are not contributing to the clan. If one of my officers tells me he/she has a member of their team that hasn't played in a week, i can then address it. If addressing it means simply re-arranging the teams to make sure each team has the most people playing, then we can do that. If that means kicking the player due to inactivity, then we can do that.

I think that this would be HUGELY beneficial to Elite 2.0. It would give us more to do in Clan ops. Give us more control of our teams. It would help clan leaders spread the word of an upcoming Clan op or Clan challenge. We can Be more competitive. CoD Elite would be its own version of Major League Game battles. Let me know what you think.... Please reply.

I agree with everything except for COD deciding on who fills out your leadership. Every clan has different needs for leadership and the "general" should decide who is on his/her leadership squad.

I agree with hierarchy for example co leader who can inv people to the clan enlist in ops kick people change the title but not the tag or name.

When i go away i have to make sure ive enlisted in everything which is a pain in the ass when you can just have a co leader who will do it for you

I think as a clan leader of 70 ppl atm, it would be cool to have a co leader that can enlist and invite ppl. But i think only the Leader should be able to kick ppl.

Having a co-leader unable to enlist in clan ops makes a co-leader completely useless. Everything else you list anyone in a clan can help with.

Well, I don't see that that's really relevant. If you don't trust anyone, then don't have co-leadership. Nothing that you're suggesting they be able to do is worth having a co-leader for. The only purpose for a co-leader imo is to be able to enlist in ops/challenges. Nothing else is useful in a co-leader (unless they're artistically gifted or something). If you don't have anyone you can trust, then why would you even suggest having a co-leader? Seems silly and pointless to me.

I understand where you're coming from. I have a level 50 clan that I started with 20 of our guys. (We were a clan long before ELITE.) I've actually had to pass leadership to one of them. (When I became a Founder and needed to leave and rejoin to add the 500XP bonus back in late November.) Never had an issue getting it back. But I am fully aware that this isn't something very common.

But your idea of having people acting as moderators in game doesn't need ELITE to do anything. You can have your own lieutenants, etc. that you name to do that job without making them co-leaders on ELITE. When we got near 100 members, we split into five divisions (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo) and each division had its own leader. But none of that needed to be on ELITE to make it so. A co-leader should be able to stand in for the leader when he's gone, etc. Which requires allowing the co-leader to enlist. The BEST solution for your worry would be for ELITE to also add the unenlist button (which has been something several clan leaders have been pushing for).

Re: Automating Clan Messeging / Hierarchy for Elite 2.0

I am the leader of sEo (SmokeEmOut) which is a level 50 clan. I have taken it upon MYSELF to appoint members as "Co-Leaders". You don't have to wait for an app (Elite) to create a label for you ... strong clan members, who take charge of a situation, is more than enough. Take charge! Make things happen yourself! For example, I was tired of watching my language and being censored on Elite ... so I created my own clan website where I say whatever I want and exercise my freedom of speech. Honestly, I don't mind doing all of the enlistments myself. It ensures that no mistakes will be made ... I don't mind adding ALL members because it's important to know everyone in your clan ... and messaging your ENTIRE clan is simple when you have a clan website you can post messages on. Anyone who isn't visiting the website to receive those messages ... doesn't have a vested interest to begin with. We are a top 3 clan (Clan Op 9/14) and it is because we understand Elite is what YOU make it. Just my 2 cents.
