MW3 Rage Question - WDPC?

Why Do People Camp
Yes its a stupid question but its one that will never leave my head.
This is the single MOST annoying thing in the game, the fcking noob that sits in a corner/at the top of stairs/in a window or on a roof that kills anyone that happens to walk by.
This really distinguishes those who are cowards and those who are not.
Camper's excuses:
1. I was reloading
2. I was defending
3. I was patrolling
4. I was waiting to regenerate health
5. I saw a guy coming on the UAV
The skilled player's response:
1. You were camping
2. You have no skill
3. You were scared to fight
Please offer me your opinions on whether you think im right / wrong
And before ppl start flaming me saying im probably just complaining bcoz I get owned by campers, your wrong... Im always positive K/D.
This question is always going to be asked over and over and I don't think there is a right/wrong answer.
It does not really bother me if people camp once you know where they are you can easily take them out. There are times when you go running past a camper and get killed because they are hiding in a corner somewhere, but then that is my fault for not taking my time to check and just blindly running around assuming no one will be hiding.
I also have some friends who are not very good at MW and never have been, for them to run around is pointless as they dont kill anyone and end up dying over and over. So its best to just stay in a room and take people out when they can, it works for them even if they only get 1 kill and then the same person comes back to kill them.
Some people hate it some people don't really care but for me I would rather have campers than quickscopers.
Valid argument... However, I think I am one of the few players that appreciate the art of quickscoping despite not being able to do it myself, many ppl complain that its a cheap trick and unrealistic in a war zone, how its so OP and so easy to do since mw2...
But none the less its still a skill you would of had to learn in order to use it successfully in-game.
When Im killed by a quickscoper, I think nothing of it because its not something everyone can do, camping on the other hand is a diff story.
Where QSing goes bad is when players try to do nothing but QS. And then their teammates are getting picked 2 or 3 enemies because there basically playing at least 1 person short. Ive never seen a good "pure quickscoper". Post all the vids you want but unless I see it in a real game for myself then its a private match in my opinion.
I hate having those players on my team and really beating them is a shallow victory but heck i'll take it.
The real good QSers are the "pure snipers" who use QSing as a tool. These are he snipers that can drive you nuts.
Yeah I did not mean that I hate all quickscopers or that I dont think it should be allowed.
The problem I find is that 90% of people that do it are not very good and try trickshots and then end up going negative K/D where as a camper might be able to get a better score (I only really play TDM)
Those that can do it and do it well I have no problem with and it also does not bother me if they kill me it just means I was not quick enough.
Yeah and I dont know why people still think its so awesome to get a QS trickshot. Its been around so long now and we have already seen it all in MW1. 360 quickscope? Seen it. 360 no scope? Seen it.
But if thats what makes the game fun for someone then by all means.
Lol 360 killcam trickshotters are stupid... I find it funny how they are able to do that with such high sensitivity.
lol i'll tell you what makes me laugh is when im playing SnD and im dead watching another player and that player is trying to trickshot/QS and they run into another player that is trying to trickshot/QS and they run around eachother in circles dropshotting, doing 360's and just bobbing and weaving trying so hard to QS eachother. I call this Quickscope offs. I think i actually made a thread about it.
Haha yeah I have seen a few videos like that, funniest thing ever!!
I remember when I first started playing CoD. I went into multiplayer and immediately started getting thrashed hard. I mean hard. I didnt get the game till Xmas ethier so yeah it was real bad.
I remember thinkig about what I could do to ge better and what someone in real life would do to increase thier chances to live. I thought "Im gonna find me a nice little corner or hiding spot with only one entrance and aim down sights".This was long before I was on any forum or even knew enough abou the game to know there are different playstyles and all that.
Needless to say I continues to get thrashes but im sure I pised countless people off. But really thinking back what else could I have done? I had zero map knowledge and zero knowledge of anything else in the game.
The point being, if your a new player or even a bad player, and your getting destroyed with rvry step you take, what else are you gonna do? Really camping is part of the learnig process of the game.
If I would have continued to run out to my instadeath, I probably never would of made progress. It was only when I hide and ADS and was able to slow everything down in my mind to process everything that was going on around me that I finally started to learn.
That being said that was a short phase lol. Nonetheless, you will just have to suck it up and recognize camping has a legit play style. And remember not just noobs camp but some very good players that are very good at camping.
No.... If im getting slaughtered over and over again... Im not gonna go sit in a corner of a room camping with an Type 95 or ACR which is the easiest gun to use in the game, on a CQC map like sea-town... What do I do, leave the game.
I constantly see campers that I've battered over and over again with scores like 5 - 23 and I just think comon.... why would you even stay in the game that long to rack up such a K/D ratio, just leave if your that bad.
Who in the world thinks its still fun to run to your death or sit in a corner waiting for death to come to you over and over again lol.
I admit, new players do it because they dont know anything else YET. But my reactions are more so aimed at experienced CoD players that are on like 7th or 8th prestige that camp and end up with K/D like 10 - 22 lol...Why do you still camp?
So you when you played your first CoD, you didnt ever camp one bit at all?
I know when I was new, I had to bias toward a camper rusher or whatever other type of play style. I literally thought there was nothing else I could do. I moved I died. At least when I was camping I had a chance lol. Thats actually probably what kept the game fun for me.
Then I learned how to flank.....
In all honesty, when I started playing CoD which was CoD 4... I dont actually remember if I camped or not, but I probably did for like the 1st few levels then realized it was kinda getting me no-where... especially on a big map :S
But like I said, im not too concerned about newer players because they do it and mostly lose the gunfight anyway, why, because they are new they dont know that much about the game.
My question is aimed toward high prestige or those noobs that sit at lvl 80 no or 1st prestige with like 11 days play time that still camp like they're taking a dump in the corner... Noobs.
NOTE: I do not consider snipers hardscoping / quickscoping camping, thats genuinely what happens on the battle field.
Yeah I dont neccessarily remember actually camping, I just remember the above thoughts. I think back now and it makes me chuckle.
But yeah those people obviously are kd whores. But like I always say they paid for the game so they can do what they want with it. Achieving a high kd is whats fun for them. The only thing you can really do is play with a squad.
but its one that will never leave my head.
Do you dream of campers? haha
This really distinguishes those who are cowards and those who are not.
I once thought similar to this, but its a game bro there is no bravery / honor / courage in a online video game.
And before ppl start flaming me saying im probably just complaining bcoz I get owned by campers, your wrong... Im always positive K/D.
Then do not complain if owning them is not an issue, campers my friend are the easiest of targets. Just remember they are around and you must get adapted to that.
Yeah but I'd much rather acknowledge that I've just been hammered to **** by a good player which I rarely find because (not trying to boast but sounds like I am) Im normally the top scorer / highest amount of kills in the lobby, either this or end up top 3 even when I join late.
Like I said before, I just wanna know why experienced players still camp the **** out of fun fast paced CQC maps like seatown, arkaden and dome lol
Yes I know camping will always be part of the game and its not like I dont have fun killing campers because they just add to my score. I'd just much rather appreciate them offering me more of a challenge than killing me once and me detonating a C4 right in their face everytime after the 1 death I acumilated from them.
Now here is the problem with the OP, your defenition of camping is broken. True camping is in point of fact not moving towards or attempting your objective. If you are playing TDM the only objective is killing the other team more than they kill you. In DOM its capping and holding areas of the map, and so on and so forth for all the gametypes. So if a team or a team member in TDM want to hold a part of the map like the Security area of Terminal or the Outside/Bar area of Arkaden then in all honesty that is what effective military units do they set up defensable possitions and move as a team. If your tactics cannot break through this plan then get new tactics. Now that being said a guy sitting in the back corner of a room or in a blind alley and waiting for someone to pop around the corner is TRUE CAMPING. But sitting in a window looking out over an area of the map even for the entire game is a good tactic, and if you have a team of guys willing to gaurd a side of the map and cover each others areas when one goes down will not lose very often. Grow up, if you want to run and gun then I am not doing to complain about that do not complain about me and my team working together to defeat you using military strategy in a FPS.
Now you see, this is where the aesthetics of camping come into play... I dont care if ppl are running round capping in dom, but the fact that they sit on, near or in the pathway to a flag in a window or in a corner in a prone position for the entirety of the game because its working for them against the stupid teammates of mine who mindlessly rush to their deaths, really frustrates me.
At this point I will gladly admit to being a kill-whore and not caring about objectives anymore.
I would not call this guard strategy of yours good, but it is a smart tactic... for the most part, you know what direction the enemy is coming from right? So your essentially spawn trapping them. A subsidary of camping might I add.
this is the thing about Dom too if all of your people are running to cap each flag and leaving no one to defend the one you already have your done for. I usually rush the second flag while my team caps the first and then after I have the second flag I stay near it and waste fools who try and cap it. Camping as you call it is a vital part of anygame what you are complaining about is a legitimate strategy of covering an area. Now if you shift focus to guys who stand and gaurd themselves only sure thats a complaint I can deal with, but don't complain about me or anyone else (even in Dom) staying back and sniping so that the teams rushers can cap flags.
*Yawn*
I camp and I beat campers.
Doesn't sound possible, but trust me... it is. ![]()
I know what you are saying.
Just because the OP can't use his brain when playing a game that REQUIRES strategy, he cries foul. I'm tired of these little children, "You have no skill" blah, blah, blah. On the contrary, the OP has no skill. You need to anticipate other human beings reactions. You know where people will spawn or at least you should be constantly making your best judgment on that through out the game. Also, humans are a repetitive species so MANY players run the same lines over and over again which sets people like me up to AMBUSH your a$$. That's called being smart. Skill....please.
"Im always positive K/D." Then why complain about camping when it's been talked about in 20k discussions? I apologize if I sound harsh but this soooooo incredibly dumb to discuss, again.
Yep... knew there was going to be 1 smart ass that was gonna come here and start talking **** before actually reading whats written.
Before you turn this harmless thread into a slanging match, I will reiterate many things that I have already written for you, just in case it didnt register in that tiny brain of yours.
I already said I know its a stupid question
I also already said, my question mostly directed at those who camp in pointless spots and get themselves killed but are still willing to go back to the same spot even though its not working for them.
Say all you want that I have no skill because Im complaining about a legitmate game strategy but my stats and playstyle doesnt lie. I never said camping was an ilegitimate strategy it was, is and always will be apart of the game. Im just trying to address those experienced players who still camp at like 8th prestige and believe its going to work for them when someone like me enters the lobby who hammers them 5 - 6 times in a row with a striker and they get that 1 lucky kill on me by camping and are satisfied with it.
Call me cocky, a try hard, taking the game too seriously but I'd rather play against good skilled players and get my **** kicked in than go 67 - 19 which I did today on dome against happy-go lucky campers.
You know what's more fun than camping and killing enemies?
Camping, killing enemies and then listening to them rage about how you just snapped their huge killstreak. (Or for those that don't learn, killing them a 2nd, 3rd or 4th time from the same place. You should hear some of the naughty words that come out of some of their mouths!)
Priceless.
And while not about camping - it's also fun listening to folks rage (sometimes multiple times per game) when I take down their air support before it even reaches the map. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
