My take on the whole lag situation is this... Three Bars Win more times than not. Whether Top of score boards or Most Kills/Lowest Deaths. I only play core KC. I Host 9 out of 10 times. I'm hard wired via ethernet. 15 Down / 3 Up. I live in Sacramento CA. Look on the map and I am central west coast so the game loves using me as a host 9 out of 10 games. I quit when I'm host. Join a new lobby with a game in session. Finish that game without problems and next game I'm host again. The cycle repeats. 99 out of 100 games I have 4 BARS.
I constantly lose face to face battles and always check the bars of person that killed me. 9 out of 10 times It's a 3 Bar. When my team of randoms is getting handled it's usuall a Team of 4 Bars vs Team of 3 Bars....
FACT: 3 BARS = move faster and escape my frame rate. They kill me in less bullets. Usually instakilled. Replay shows 2-3 shots. I will slam 3-4 hit markers in their dome and come up with an assist after I'm killed.
FACT: 3 BARS = usually live in remote locations like Idaho or out in the sticks or far away from the host. 3 Bars means signal takes longer to reach host. You can't speed a players ping up but you can speed up their movement. Increase bullet damage. Improve Hit registry. (Ever experience Silenced MP7/ACR w/ 3 bars running the map)
FACT: 4 BARS = Flashes/Concussions effects last longer. RPG direct hit on 3 opponents huddled together yields three assists. RPG Direct Hits are hit markers. Reloads even takes longer like I'm using Sleight of Sandbags. and Ball N'ChainAthon. I Run Slower. Turn Slower. Fire Rate even slows down. I've slapped an ACOG On the M60 and came up with 4-5 hit markers on players and come up with an Assist.
I have also noted from experience that just because you have 3 Bars doesn't mean these facts always hold true. I've noticed that 3 Bars not on the hosts team get this PING ADVANTAGE.
3 Bars on the hosts team will do worse than the 4 bars on hosts team.
4 Bars not on hosts team do worse than 3 Bars Not on Hosts Team.
Ok so idiots can understand....
Host team + 3 Bars = BAD
NonHostTeam + 3 Bars = Ping Advantage.
Host Team + 4 Bars = Better than 3 Bars on Hosts team
NonHostTeam + 4 Bars = Worse off than 3 Bars on Non-Hosts-Team
3BarNonHost > 4BarHost > 4BarNonHost > 3 BarHost on a
Now I'm noticing that I am teamed up with 4 Bar randoms. As I am always 4 Bars. The other team is 3 Bars. We get raped. One time I was in a lobby with two Euro/Maybe Russians in an American Lobby. The Euros were far away so PING ADVANTAGE. They both get MOABs in same game.
So Matchmaking is supposed to fix this???? Bullshit. MW3 wants to give advantages to casuals. If casuals got their asses handed to them by hardcore gamers constantly they wouldn't stick around to buy maps n ****. Let them think they are good based on the fact that the 20th prestiger was taken down like a NooB because he is lagging 1-2 seconds behind.
Their is no such thing as match making anymore kids. How can you construct a lobby based on skill and rank when lobbies are spread thin as it is. HC/Core/Elite/Faceo Off. When IW has to build a lobby based on connection because of their p2p habbits. They would rather pay their share holders dividends. Dedicated servers = Less dividends = Money Loss = Less profits = Fewer investors for future CoD names.
To sum things up. CoD MW3 would have been bad ass. IW F'd it up. Sorry for the long Rant. Please post your thoughts and experiences too. Thanks!
I lot of times I have 3 bars and I think my team always gets host like you said because sometimes people start shooting even before I see them and when being shot at I had try to hide behind a wall and it seems like i'm safe the suddenly I die behind the wall!! but i know what you feel I lost a lot gun fights that i know I was supposed to win.

I am now consistanly being matched against people with 2 yellow bars or even one small red bar!!! Unwinnable!
