Is COD Competitive?

Not with the current lag compensation in place. Someone is always getting an advantage with it as someone gets a disadvantage.
So he plays objective games but no really...what a chump.
He talks about a competitive play but yet he doesn't play the game mode correctly. Since, he is focused on competitive play why doesn't he play TDM where the other team is focused on kills instead of flags? IMO your actions should reflect your words but in his case they don't.
There is competition, it's just things get in the way of fair competition
i agree with ghorman i hate play with people that do not help cap flags go play tdm if you worry about your k/d ratio
That makes sense
It's a video game, not college football! ![]()
Nice, I love college football
I did not watch the video. Dont need too. COD Is not competitive. 99% of the community is horrible at this game. Even stats dont show it. Most of the time they are minipulated anyway. Until COD has a true skill ranking system, Matching you against your peers, Come up with a penalty system for dashboarding and getting rid of people boosting...Then it might be skillful.
I agree, and it's funny you didn't watch the vid and spit that out
Nah, this game will never be like the broken Halo 3 and how people thought that its trueskill really meant people were skilled when accounts were constantly bought and sold.
People really bought accounts?? lol
You are in luck...BO2 will have a TrueSkill ranking structure.
If BO2 has true skill than it will be worse than ever. For it will be just as bad as Halo 3 was with boosters and account sellers and even more scams related to accounts.
No its anything but competitive. To many unbalanced lobbys and players picking and choosing to only find or only staying in easy kill lobbys to pad stats. To many players in objective modes are not playing the objectives and badly losing most times.Well done on the mo-ab would have been a great one if you had also played the gamemode..Was in one with Vims from the forums the other day Lmg mo-ab 4caps 2defends with 53kills if memory serves me correct. No offence intended but challenging yourself to play objectives without using crutch weapons or items while getting a mo-ab is a great way to make a otherwise easy lobby worthwhile to play in. My thoughts is all
Thanks for the feedback
Jake i replied on youtube but it looks like the reply button is having problems. There are several threads on google support about it.
If you want a competitive game look at games with dedicated servers like BF3,
In COD the host changes almost every match as does your connection so no two or three game will be the same and this will have nothing to do with your gaming ability you are at the mercy of your current connection for the next 10 min or so.
On dedicated servers the players find a server that works well for them and play with the same connection all day long so when you are doing well in BF3 you know it has more to do with your gaming ability since BF3 players dont play on servers that dont work well for them.
Very simple.
Unfortunately Dedicated servers wont work for Call of Duty games since it would eat into Activisions billion dollar bank accounts. EA however can afford them since they sell less games and make less money.
Have at it fanboys.
It is a competitive game, but shouldn't be, given the small learning curve and skill gap.
True, and I didn't see your reply on YT :/
What skillgap?
No for it was not meant to be. It was meant more for the causal or general player to enjoy and have fun. Companies are learning that in order to keep high sales they have to move away form the high skill/large skill gap way of making games. And to most companis is is all about the sales that matter the most, not if players are happy that the game is not like what it was just 2 years ago or more.
it is about find ways to bring in the most players to gain the most profits and high skill/large skill gap games normally do not do this. And as more players come online the competition to get the most sales in a genre increases so companies have to find ways to draw in more even at the expense of making so called veteran players unhappy with the changes.
Yeah, I'd consider myself a veteran player and I wish a lot of things were different in MW3 :/
Blame it on society and the continual increase of online games each year. Back where there was less playing they had to make games where skill was more important to keep players interested. Now it is just about getting as many sales as possible.
i miss the call of duty 4 days
Me too :/
COD is not competitive. Mainly because there is not way to seperate the good players from the bad, therefore games that have one team get 75 kills in TDM while the other team gets 10 kills. That is not a competition.
Exactly, its just a slaughterfest.
How do you mean competitive? As in against other FPS, or is the community competitve?
They host large competitions through a system link which is better than internet cos there is no lag. It competes with battlefield for the crown of best FPS.
I meant the community, and yeah events are competative because they are competitions lol
System link is competative and fun
I watched the video, and this guy gets 2-3 hit kills left and right. I am shocked if I get a kill after firing less than a 1/3 of a magazine. So apparently, my connection makes this game not competative.
Hmm, good point. Lag comp is rediculous in this game :/
No, it's "Pick up and Play"
RESISTANCE FALL OF MAN, RESISTANCE2, KILLZONE2 & 3 are Competitive.
All I have to say is good luck going for gameplay in BO2 that's going to be so competitive with everyone trying there hardest
So true, the horse killstreak will kick all of our butts ![]()
Yes. It certainly can be.
IMO, it needs to be pro-mod to be competitive.
