INTRODUCTION

 

Are you interested in socializing with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players your age but haven't been able to "weed out" all the adolescent players? Have you been unable to join traditional, time-consuming clans because, being responsible adult, you have had to juggle your free time with going to college, taking care of children, or being employed in a full time job? In short, are you interested in an online experience akin to "shooting the bull" with a group of drinking buddies? If so, then MW3 Gunslingers is the right place for you!

MEMBERSHIP

 

We are fortunate to have over 2,700 adults registered on our homepage.

We have the largest collection of parents.  We have the largest collection of married couples.  We have the largest collection of college students.  And we have the largest collection of the working men (and women) members.

 

 

If you would like to join the club, you need only to fulfill two things:

    1. Be at least 18 years of age or older.

GUIDELINES

 

We like to ascribe the Gunslinger experience akin to having drinks with some buds after work or partying with them on the weekends.  Nothing stops the music faster than a few knuckleheads, so we do have a few guidelines we expect people to follow during their stay:

 

    -Pornographic and/or obscene material is prohibited.

     

    -Self promotion by new members will likely be treated as spam. This includes promotion of own non-commercial websites.

     

    -No personal attacks on other members or various sorts of offensive behavior is allowed.

     

    -No glitching/hacking/cheating.  We define such as purposefully accessing the game's programming or abusing a flaw in the programming to achieve an act or status that is not intended or possible otherwise.

      I don't have the exact numbers (perhaps McMurphy does), but we have quite a large number of people playing BlackOps on the 360. So it would be fairly safe to conclude we will have just as large a group (or even larger) for MW3.

      Battle_Hamster said it perfectly.  Our Black Ops front, for example, had over 330 Xbox360 GSers alone, which is roughly the same amount as our PS3 front for the game.  And that doesn't even factor in other Call of Duty titles.  Granted, numbers don't mean everything, but it does demonstrate that our Xbox360 crowd will be ALL over Modern Warfare 3!

       

      In fact, here is the newest membership related update I have published:

       

      Oh, no!  I am a day late with publishing the Gunslingers weekly New-Member Round-Up!  Every Wednesday, we at GS take a moment to give a proverbial tip of the hat and a shot of whiskey (Okay, sometimes it's proverbial) for all the fantastic new members to join the clan in the last seven days.

      We know that you have a lot of choices this time of the year, and I don't just mean all the new games coming out.  Of course, I humbly recommend Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in that department, but I was referring to clan membership.  To all you mature, casual gamers out there, I invite you to the Gunslingers.  To all you hard working adults, I invite you to the Gunslingers.  To all you parents, I invite you to the Gunslingers.  We know it is tough to find a clan that actually lets you enjoy your game when it is most convenient for you without demanding some sort of arbitrary skill or practice attendance requirement.  We know it is frustrating to be drawn into supposedly mature clans only to find out that they allow non clan members and underage gamers alike to frequent their communication tools for the simple (and deceiving) purpose of padding activity.  When we say that the Gunslingers clan is exclusively for casual, mature adults, we mean it.

       

      And we invite you to stop by and judge for yourself.

      I don't know about the rest of you, but this time of the year really keeps you busy!  The amount of birthdays of friends and family one is expected to remember alone...well, anyway.  Back on point!  And the point is that we have an immensely special edition of New Member Round-Up!  In case you haven't been following our updates, we give a well deserved welcome to all the awesome men and women who join the Gunslingers every week.

      As I said earlier, this is a special edition of the New Member Round-Up.  That is because these people listed above helped usher us into a new milestone for the Gunslingers.

      GS Creative Corner - Last week, I posted about how many members share their talent in banner making.  Well, we also have fine musicians, photographers, and writers among us.  That is why an entire section specifically dedicated to celebrating their talent has been added to the Gunslingers Forum.  Check out their creativity and post your own!

      Frosty Pints        

      We welcome you to join in on the premiere event here at Gunslingers entitled Frosty Pints!

       

      Crack open your favorite brew, stop by the GS Chats and connect with fellow members for some drunken gaming fun.  Going strong since 2008, Frosty Pints is a particularly great time for new members to meet other Gunslingers and to swap friend codes, PSNs or gamertags.

       

      Frosty Pints takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings, which actually means all day Friday and Saturday due to having members from time zones across the globe. (Quite the bender, huh!?)  The busiest times tend to be from 3:00pm PST and on.

      What up COD fans?  Looking forward to having some great games with my fellow GSers on MW3!  Frosty Pints on the weekends, and games with like minded adults every night of the week!  Black Ops was a blast for nearly a year, and Im sure we will have a blast on MW3 for just as long!

       

      If you have adult responsibilities, but like the occasional casual game to get away, GS is the place for you.  We have a tight-knit group, but there are tons of us who will be playing MW3.  Any time zone you hail from, you will be able to find a group of GSers to game with no matter what day of the week you may have free time. 

       

      Hope to meet some new friends and see you in-game!  Cheers!

      Goppfather, one of our GS Leaders, is completely right.  We have had a lot of fun with previous Call of Duty, and we expect to do the same with Modern Warfare 3!  In fact, we owe a lot to the COD: MW franchise and its ability to usher in all the fantastic new Gunslinger friends throughout the last couple years.

      Between the posting here, on our Facebook Group, and on the Gunslingers site, I am growing impatient on the game's release.
