Game feels like MW2. Not like Black Ops at all. Played at xp.

Do people think that playing MW2 will prepare them for MW3?

    YUP

From what I've been told, Mw3 plays like a cross between MW2 and Black ops, how could you possibly prepare for that?

I heard more CoD4 and MW2, and your best bet is to practice at MW2

Sure, some of the guns are similar, but in no way could you mimic the pacing, the gun feel or the sheer pace that is going to be in MW3.

I love watching these "preparation" videos and there are some entertaining videos, but I've refrained from doing one myself based solely on two factors.

    1. There are a billion of them already out there

    2. I can't simulate MW3 gameplay, so what's the point of trying.

Nobody can, and watching a preparation video will get you nowhere.

Am I offbase here? There are videos discussing the MW3 guns, perks, point streaks ETC, but when it comes to preparation, can you really be prepared for what's about to drop on 11/8/11?

    I think not.

    Your thoughts please...

You're telling me practicing with the Throwing Knife in MW2 will not prepare me for it in MW3 after having played Black Ops for so long and using the Tomahawk?

Friends tell me mw3 has some elements that are mw2/cod4-ish. I have put down blops and am playing mw2 multi for fun and to get a feel for the dynamics as I have not played mw2 before. First time multi last night. It was different but good. gallp13

All the machinama respawn guys said it played just like MW2. I trust what they had to say over wiggy any day of the week. Hutch straight up said it plays like MW2. Hopefully MW3 wont have terrible sync issues that ruin the game like BLOPS.

BLOPS is made by a different studio. Each studio comes with their own problems. Sledgehammer's helping the remainder of IW though so it should be a mix of IW's blockbuster campaign plus the support of Treyarch by SH.

Re: Have you seen these "preparation" videos yet?

To be honest Wigs, I'm sticking to Black Ops until MW3 comes out.

Traded in MW2 a few months due to the fact that I found the game unbearable.

There wasn't a game mode where some douche was tubing or running around "commando lunging" with a tactical knife.

COD4 & WAW is gone from my collection, mainly because of the hackers & the games I get into are mostly 2 bar games.

The only way I see players preparing for MW3 is to start private matches on XBOX Live and place rules to what a player can/cannot use.

I have played some MW2 on the PC via AlterIWnet and played in servers where they can kick players for using tubes or commando so you could follow the same idea on XBOX Live but keep it in private matches.

For instance, if you started your own MW2 private matches, I would "ban" Stopping Power, OMA, Commando, Danger Close & Last Stand. I'm not sure of keeping Lightweight since it's a deathstreak (Juiced) now.

For deathstreaks, I would "ban" just Painkiller & Copycat since most of the other deathstreaks are coming back to MW3.

For weapons, I would just "ban" shotguns unless players agree to treat them as primaries. (without switching to their primary)

This is probably the closest you'll get to playing MW3, private matches with rules.

If you enter public, it'll just be a f**kload of tubes and MLC douchebags.

I would join if you did plan to start up some private MW2 friendly games but I traded in the game.

Thx for this. I played blops to death and started mw2 on multi yesterday. Could I trouble you to give me 1 or 2 areas where mw3 differs dramatically from mw2. Thx in advance. gallp13

There aren't that many hackers in CoD4 as you might think... 6/10 of the games I play are playable, and the hacked ones are usually benevolent. Just stick to anything but Search and you should be fine.

Re: Have you seen these "preparation" videos yet?

I still see an influx of hackers from my end so I gave up on COD4.

Tried all game modes but couldn't find one non-hacked lobby.

COD4 has been traded in anyway so I'm just sticking to what I have at home until BF3, Batman Arkham City & MW3 come out.

Also, when you live in New Zealand, you're most likely to find yourself in 2 bar lobbies anyway (as most players are either playing from USA or UK)
