Switching between ASSAULT package & SUPPORT package

This is a little unclear to me right now:
If I have different custom classes setup, one with Assault and the other with Support... If I start with Support and I have UAV as my first selected pointstreak (UAV comes in at 4) and after 3 kills I switch and am using a class with Assault package, get 2 kills and then switch back to my class with the Support package...What happens?
Do the 3 kills I had when I started with the Support package still count? As in, if I get 1 more kill do I get my UAV? or Does it reset since I switched packages?
The answer to this could make for some interesting strategies with organized teams.
Everytime you swtich to a class that has a different Support Strike Package your pointstreak resets back to zero.
So, if you are using Support w/ UAV (a 4 point reward), get 3 points, die, switch to an Assault Strike Package, your streak resets back to zero. The same happens when you get 2 points, die & switch back to a Support Strike Package -- you will always reset back to zero.
EDIT: This is the best 402 tweet I could find about it.
Cook, thanks for the answer.
This means someone can rock Support with hardline get 3 kills and get their CUAV, switch to Assault Package die, switch back to Support package and start the CUAV spamming all by THEMSELVES. Wow, if one guy on a team was in charge of simply spamming CUAV it would be devastating to any enemy that wasn't using Assassin Pro.
This definitly means ASSASSIN PRO is going to be used by even beast players who were screaming and yelling against Ghost. No Assassin Pro means no minimap which means no seeing where your own teammates are and not knowing where the enemy will spawn, which means less beasting.
I'm DEFINITELY going to be using ASSASSIN PRO, I'd be putting myself at a huge disadvantage if I didn't.
OR you could just shoot down the CUAV... I mean, it adds a point to your streak.
Or I can shoot down some enemy CUAV for points and still rock Assassin Pro.
I don't want to spend all my game time shooting down CUAV, one here and there is cool, but it's not exactly fun 24/7.
Not knowing where the enemy is spawning or where my teammates are for even 30% of a game is too much for me to ignore Assassin Pro.
I don't think there's really anyway around Assassin Pro; too powerful a perk to pass up.
CUAV is a 5 Point reward so they will have to get 4 Points with Hardline. Also you have to switch your class, die, then switch your class, and die.
I don't think you'll see too much of that tactic, especially with doing all that work and then as soon as you call it in someone blows it out of the sky.
I find it so awesome that we can change kill streaks depending on class, probably one of the best innovations in COD yet.
Definately -- it will really add to the player's ability to adapt to any given situation.
Sometimes I have those games where I am just on a roll and I'm like "WHY DON'T I HAVEA HIGHER KS SET!" I'm so excited for this game.
Yup. I think the good additions far outweigh the bad. I feel like this game has enough counters to douchebaggery to keep me from getting as frustrated as I got w/ MW2 & specifically Blops. We'll have to see how the community handles the game, but MW3 definately has the potential to be a really, really good game.
I think it's a smart move by IW to allow different pointstreaks setups for different class setups as well.
For instance, if I'm playing against some greenies and I'm using the Support Package, I can use my Assault Package class and rein fire with the AC-130.
If I'm playing against a competitve party/clan, I can switch over to my objective support package consisting of UAV, Counter UAV & Sam-Turret setup for example.
I also like the idea of setting up Anti-this and Anti-that classes.
For instance: if I run into a lot of snipers, I can switch to class that uses Ballistic Vests & the Recon Juggernaut; if I run into guys that shoot down everything (for the points), I can switch to a class that uses all airstrikes (Predator, Precision); if I run into campers, I can use my I STILL SEE YOU class w/ Recon Drones & AUAVs. And the list goes on.
I think I am going to name a class "I STILLSEE YOU" now. ![]()
What would be your setup for your "I Still See You" class?
Perk 1: Recon
Perk 3: SitRep (campers love claymores)
(Perk 2 isn't relevant to anything, probably just throw on assassin)
Support Package
UAV
REMOTE UAV (DEVATASTING for campers)
AUAV
I can't be mad at that class. That might be one of my class perk setups.
As far as all the UAVs in your Support Package... I think your garden variety biatch camper will have Blind Eye and Assassin, so I'm not sure about the Support Package setup you have going on here.
Perk description doesn't say remote UAV is blocked if they happen to have that stuff on, and there is only so much you can do against them besides shoot.
I think Blind Eye counters remote UAV, but I'm not 100%.
Either way, you're right, some things do have to be done the old school way; by looking around and shooting. Lol
I could always throw a tube on my gun and launch one into his corner, or a cooked frag. But for perks/streaks, that's the basic limit to how to kill a corner camper. (Not counting walking around in a jugger suit and spraying **** lol)
Might as well run Hardline so you can get to the AUAV faster.
That's a good call too.
