Most Useless Weapon/perk/Proficiency

I saw this in the Wii forums, so I thought I'd bring it up here.
What do you think the most useless weapon, perk, and proficiency are?
Impact. I don't spray and pray through walls. I love when people try it on me because they have to reload when I do turn the corner.
i love impact on the l86 when playing team defender
I use impact on my sniper rifles. Love seeing someone enter a building then shooting and killing them through a walll, and shortly thereafter hearing "WTF" haha
spas/overkill/hybridsight/shotgun attachment
Spas12- Imo is a crappy fricken shotty. slow azz reload time between shots and not likely to one shot until higher proficiencies for range/damage. I'm sure people will come and cry how wrong I am and they are god with this weapon at weapon rank 1 yada yada. But this is just my experience.
Overkill- The only useless perk to the specialist package that I can think of. Does absolutely nothing for you unless selected at the beginning before match is even started. Otherwise if you want two main weapons you can just pickup someone's that you kill. Weapon selection in this game isn't that diverse, so the chances of you killing someone that has a weapon you would gladly use as a second primary weapon are fairly high.
Hybrid sight- Need I say more? This is one of the most obtrusive sights in the game short of using a thermal or sniper scope. Totally useless for ADS killing imo.
Shotgun attachment- I have NEVER been killed by this. I would rather have a striker with an AR attachment lol. This is a total joke and only a nub that has no idea what is going on would try to make usage of this.
KSG is worse than the SPAS imo...but neither of them are bad.
Overkill is definitely hard to use but I don't think it's obsolete. Using overkill with specialist to recover perks such as assassin and hardline is very viable. I'd much rather use a shotty in CQC than FMG akimbos.
I'd agree that shotgun AR attachment is pretty bad. I haven't used it since the supposed patch though so I didn't include it.
I've used the shotgun attachment soley for completeing the challenge for a gun, and I'll admit if it pretty worthless. Not to say I haven't gotten multiple kills with it, because I have, but the effectiveness is a huge hit or miss. With one use it'll have the range and power that you'd expect, but then the next time you use it, a point blank shot to the spine will do nothing more than as if a small breeze just came in through the window and tickled your opponent.
I generally agree on all points.
Weapon is by far the M320 GLM. It's a noobtube that takes forever to pull out and takes the place of much more lethal secondaries.
I'm sorry but no perk is useless. All of them can be advantageous used the right way. Doing things like using marksman with a shotgun, etc. would make them useless though.
Proficiencies have to be Stability and Breath. Stability only reduces sway by 25% and that becomes 100% useless once you fire the shot.
Most useless attachment has to be Rapid Fire for LMG's, Hybrid sights for assault rifles, and suppressors for the OSK snipers.
I agree with all of what you put, but the perk for me personally would be steady aim. I know a lot of people use the perk, so it's not useless...just is for me
Steady aim is one of the best perks in my opinion. Especially if you don't have a headset for dead silence or sitrep.
Obviously, it's great for shotguns. Gives you a good idea of what your pellet spread is going to be. Also great for SMG's. Hipfiring is very smart in a lot of cases. Same with AR's sorta.
The pro perk of steady aim is great. Faster weapon recovery after sprinting can make a difference in a gun battle.
I can understand if you don't use shotties/ SMG's a certain way, but it is definitely a potent perk.
I agree! I just hate hearing myself run, so I always use dead silence.
I would definitely agree that perks that people like make other perks seem useless.
Almost everyone likes Sleight of Hand. For that reason, few people know the power of recon (and some other blue perks for that matter). Recon is actually one of the best perks in the game when used with the right classes. The thing is, reloading is so damn annoying that a lot of people rarely use it.
Same with a lot of the red perks. A lot of people (myself somewhat included) don't even bother with red-dot chasing garbage. I use assassin a lot. And when I'm not I'm using hardline and shooting down UAVs for both pointstreaks and protection from radar. Part of the reason though is that I like to flank and showing up on the radar is killer. People don't realize how hard it is to be killed by explosives with blast shield or the advantages of having two primaries.
We need to party up and play sometime today!
Recon pro with LMG is phenomenal. Getting Recon to pro is fairly simple, just have to stick to flash bangs for some time. XM 25 in air burst mode is also pretty handy when tagging annoying enemies from a range or up close and personal.
Weapon: Primary: Dragunov. It's inaccurate, almost impossible to one shot with, the reload is slow, the magazine size is small for what it is (a battle rifle) and a poor cousin of the RSASS and MK14.
Secondary: M320 GLM. You might as well slap one on your assault rifle if you want to use it. Even so it's only any use on Hardcore (but people will moan at you for noob tubing if you use it on Hardcore).
Perk: Overkill. Some of the machine pistols, especially the MP9, are good enough that you really don't need another primary. Using Overkill and carrying a PM-9 as your second primary is a fail. BTW I don't use FMG9 akimbo.
Proficiency: Impact. Most surfaces in MW3 seem to be completely bulletproof even when they shouldn't be (bulletproof rusty corrugated iron?!)
The SVD is better than the RSASS now. It got a buff. 100% vertical recoil makes landing second shots extremely easy.
everything is useful. you just have to find a use.
The one that makes you knife quicker, don't think I have ever used it.
Melee proficiency? It's good for riot shield. Okay for SMG's but there are much better options.
I'd say the option for riot shield makes it useful though.
Primary: Dragunov
Even with it's recent buff, it still is the worst SR in the game, functioning better as a semi-automatic AR, which it is then outclassed by both the MK14 and the RSASS in that catagory (and at least the RSASS can be used as a great SR in HardCore)
Secondary: Desert Eagle
This is a very hard-to-use handgun with the most unpredictable recoil in the game. Hit markers with this thing are plentiful, but all the other Handguns outclass this thing greatly. Even the M320 GLM gets more kills than this thing, but with enough skill and patience, maybe you can use this weapon.
Perk: Overkill
Not only is this perk very circumstantial (such as for use in a riot sheild set), but it is the one perk that does not give you an advantage when running specialist
Proficiency: Focus
Though Impact does have its limitabilty, that does not make up for the focus proficiency being utterly useless, as it puts maybe one more bullet on target if you are lucky. It does not affect shooting battles at all.
I gotta disagree with you about focus. Even though i dont use it, id say that anything that gives you even the slightest reduction from flinching is most certainly useful. Flinching -- is --- a ---- b*tch!! Around half of the gun battles i lose are because of flinching like crazy and barely missing the other guys head. The AK solved the flinching problem for me though. ![]()
Focus is THE BEST proficiency for pump and lever shotguns until range and damage. Hands down. Kick and impact don't do crap, and reduced focus can be the difference between a 1 shot kill and death.
It's good on other weapons as well.
I'm more of a long range LMG kinda guy, so that rarely happens to me...
and when it does I usually don't get flinch killed as a result.
I understand and accept your argument, I just did not have enough experience with the proficiency to back my reasoning up.
That's it! I change my decision to breath on any AR other than the MK14
Ohay a Wii forum post. Anyways,
Most useless weapon - Dragunov. CoD4 had it better.
Most useless perk - Overkill due to Akimbo Machine Pistals
Most useless attachment - Hybrid sight, it's a RDS with a different design.
Most useless proficiency - Breath, stabiliy is there for this. Plus, holding down the left joystick throws some people off.
SVD isn't nearly useless anymore. The buff made it way more viable.
Useless weapon - AA12
Perk - overkill, just because its the worst of the perks, but it has uses.
Proficiency - Breath/Focus
Focus is good for shotties and some of the AR's
Not on HC its not.
Well obviously, but no one plays hardcore
M16 Hybrid Sight + Breath
The most useless primary weapon is the aa12.
The most useless secondary weapon is the m320 nade laucher.
Most useless perk is hard to pick. But the least usefull perk is probably a tie between blast shield and overkill. Over kill because there are good cqc and long range secondaries that make a second primary sort of redundant. And blast shield because it regular ability is not really needed because most explosives are weak, and the ones that are not weak blast shield does not fully protect you from. And its pro ability is bullshit.
Proficiency is impact/breath. Almost worthless.
My least used items:
Attachments:
- hybrid
- thermal
- underbarrel shotgun
- underbarrel launcher
Perks:
- overkill
Proficiencies:
- melee
- stability
- speed
- damage
- breath
Equipment:
- scrambler
- smoke grenade
Primaries:
- all shotguns (except striker in infected)
- all snipers except barrett
- M16
- CM901
- PM-9
- M60
Secondaries:
- G18
- MP412
- SMAW
- Javelin
- XM25
- M320
- RPG
You just listed like half of the stuff in the game. The post asked what the most useless things were. Not the things you have no idea how to use.
Thermal is a great attachment for certain LMGs and for Drop Zone.
Melee is the best riot shield proficiency IMO
Damage is the best option for 4 or so of the shotguns
Speed is the best option for most snipers depending on playstyle and good for LMGs too.
Scrambler is blind eye in a tactical and can also be used offensively
Smoke can be used to stealthily complete objectives or combined with thermal/explosives
All shotguns are good, AA-12 hard to use but not useless.
Snipers all have their pros.
M16 is a tough AR to use but is far from useless...superior at range to the type.
PM-9 has the fastest ttk of any SMG...used correctly it's unbeatable.
M60 is one of the more-used LMG's. 2 hit kill at close range and slow rate of fire conserves a lot of ammo.
Only secondary I agree is "useless" is the M320
wow. everything you don't use is useless to you, that is true.
BUT......
disagree most on javelin. that thing is beast. i can get 4-6 kills per game pretty easy with this on any map that isn't pure buildings. it destroys on dome, village, mission, resistance, bakaara, and a couple more i can't think of, i am sure.
learn the spots and you will do quite well and be happy you took the time.

Nil all useful in context.
Most Useless...
Weapon: M16A4
Perk: Dead Silence Pro (Now that Sitrep Pro counters it completely, Dead Silence LITERALLY does nothing.)
Proficiency: Breath (lol, why did they make breath give the gun more recoil...?)
Attachment: HAMR Scope/Masterkey
Dead Silence Pro still eliminates fall damage, people without SitRep can't soundwhore you, and not hearing your own footsteps makes it easier to soundwhore.
I'd disagree with HAMR. The plain RDS option is actually a great optic. A little annoying to switch, maybe, but way better than the hybrid sights IMO
Most useless setup
Model 1887 with Attachments... really? Why is this even there?
True. It LITERALLY does not have a use because you can't select it!
Most useless weapon - AA12. The limited mag size is horrid.
Most useless perk - Overkill, by far.
Most useless attachment - Hybrid sight, for sure... it is such a LOS blocker!!!!
Most useless proficiency - Breath... utterly useless unless you use a sniper, but sitting there scoped in leaves you vulnerable.
Useless weapon-Riot Shield
Useless Perk -Extreme Conditioning
Useless Attachment-underbarrel shotguns
Useless Proficiency-Melee
useless weapon- AA12 (this damn gun shoots pillows, i swear)
useless perk - dead silence (now easily countered with sitrep pro)
useless attachment - underbarrel shotgun (anyone ever kill anyone > 1 foot away?)
useless proficiency - melee (wow....knife faster)
-Yeti
Useless Weapon- M16, Riot Shield.
Useless Perk- Overkill
Useless Attachment- Any sight (seriously, haven't used a sight on any gun since COD4 except obviously Iron Sights.)
Useless Proficiency- Well I only use Kick, Attachments and Focus so all the others I guess.
