Has anyone tried out recon (pro)? (core modes only)

So it seems that not a lot pf people use recon, I guess because you will lose blind eye (I think). I recently completed all the pro perks, recon pro by far has to be the most useful perk I have seen in this game. Not only does explosive damage paint people, but so will bullet hits, good for the lag. Also it paints people with arrows like having a advanced UAV up.
On Dome it is insane, many would say OP. As everyone knows at the start of the match flashbangs and grenades get spaamed towards the other spawn. One flashbang that way lights up the entire other team, its pretty wild. Plus you will get assists for painted people that get killed by others. Of course I could be wrong, and maybe more people use it by the number of flashbangs and stuns that get spammed.
It just seems everytime I play no one on my team uses it, or maybe its only because I play TDM, also HCTDM, which in HC games its useless. Anyone else give it a go?
Recon-pro is easily my favourite perk I can't help but smile as people think they've escaped but you're watching their every move.
Ive heard that it was an awesome perk, but i never use it mainly because the team im paired with in games are incompetent anyway, so i can paint a picture for them on the mini map of the bad guys, they will still sit in corners, or run out aimlessly
Yeah I hear that, last night again on Dome, did the flash in the begininng lit the whole team up, my entire team was killed, wtf. Though we did go on to win. It is a very useful perk worth putting in the time to get the pro done, that way you get the paintball gun, and the arrows.
I dont think I've ever gotten pro for it but i know it would be useful if i did i only really use it when I get specialist bonus though
very useful perk and this post reminds me i should use it more. Works even better paired up with hardline to get those assists working for you.
Funny cause I'll use it with blast shield pro, it helps negate the effects from recon, kind of a hippocrite, so to speak.
Whoops, no its dead silence that reduces the effect from recon, not blast shield.
I guess for those that prestige all the time, it really wouldn't be worth it. I only prestige a few times then stop, get all the pro's done and start getting other challenges done. I just don't play enough to keep prestiging. So if you get bored and start working on pro perks, recon will not disappoint
it is actually one of the first perks i get pro with because it is easy to complete the 10xp challenges to rank up quicker.
I use it on every one of my classes except for my knifing class and I get crazy amounts of assists because of it. Last night I had a game of search on Dome with 10 assist. It was insane.
What, if anything negates recon pro? Does anything counter it (assasin etc.)? How long do they stay painted.
Its the only perk I have never pro'd so im definately going to do it tonight.
Dead silence doesn't negate it but it counters it only by reducing it's effect (not sure what that means). Maybe like until you get pro people only show up as dots for a few seconds. The arrows will stay present until some is killed or its up for maybe 10 seconds or so, just enough to find the elusive Wookie.
Hmmm....a way to paint campers and assasin hiding cowards......dam I have been missing out. Guess ill have to pick a fight with the wife tonight so I can go hide from her in my man cave and play..... ![]()
No fighting, just do what I did, get her drunk, then get her to play, she thinks that she's all that by getting one kill, she's happy, then says, here you play now.
Eh my wife would rather go toss rocks at her car then play this game for 2 seconds. She flat hates it. haa.

I think it just cuts the time the person is lit up in half but I could be wrong. I've just noticed that some don't stay lit up as long.
^^ this is basically what it does, your right!
Best perk in game. Helps with a MOAB.
I HIGHLY recommend this perk...its the perk i always get pro first when i've prestiged.
Combined with specialist its fantastic, i can tag an enemy with my bullets and if i dont kill him, i can either go after him as i know where he is and what way he is facing or my team mates can get him.
Only 120 paints to get it pro, takes me normally less than 10 games to get pro if decent maps come up as you know generally where people are coming from.
I also use this perk a lot. But always in combination with hardline and high killstreaks. The OP is correct, I always use this on Dome. If more than one person on your team has this, it's basically like having a permanent advanced UAV. Very useful.
Recon Pro is the cheapest thing to use ever, but its also really useful when sniping. Whenever you get a hitmarker and the dude runs away, you know exactly where they are and its easy to track them down n finish them off.
Pro'd it last night. It is probably the easiest perk to pro really. Panting people was awesome the only problem I had was getting so wrapped up in painting them that I kept getting killed while I thru a flash bang. It became like painting them was more important then killing them haa..
I moved it into a specialist slot. I dont think its better then SOH to be in slot 1 and I was playing face off and had to ditch hardline because of the portable radar camping sissies. God I hate having to waste a slot on assasin but maps like getaway where they can hide in the bushes sitting on their port. radar make it almost required. 2v2 and they hide in a corner....go figure.....I was painting the **** out of them from accross the map though which was cool but it never failed one of their hiding buddies would pick me off when I went for the painted guy.
Its a really good perk, but I always have sleight of hand or scavenger. I stopped using it because I have completed every challenge with it.
