Air support is dead

I think the killstreak points are a good idea for capping the objective ect.

But you should get nothing for shooting down air support.

 

At the moment anything above a predator is shot down instantly because of the point incentive.

    Its hardly dead. My UAV's and Attack Choppers do just fine most of the time.

    Solution: use specialist or non air streaks. There are plenty. Precision air strike, assault drone, stealth bomber, emp, stuff like that.

     

    No points for shooting down air makes LMGs more obsolete.

    I like the added incentive of a streak pt to shooting down aerial killstreaks. Without it, I think you would see a bunch of people with blind eye on, letting their teams get shot to swiss cheese b/c they are unaffected by them. It's a proper reward for supporting your team.

    wonder why that didn't happen in a match earlier today where I had my attack chopper and ah-6 3 times in one life.  It's pretty simple though...  if they get shot down instantly.. switch to a different class that has a different KS set up.

      Like someone said all the blindeye guys who used to just blanc air support have now joined the point hungry take down squads lol

       

      I feel that people should be shooting it down to actually help the team not just to get a cheap point.

      I have done it myself lol shoot down helicopters as there entering the map take out ah6's as there just lowering into postion lol

      Just because it's an easy point.

         Haha, really? Is that why you think people shoot down the air support? How about the fact that i dont wanna get killed by it? Im not prestiging anymore, so i dont care about XP at all, and i shoot down air support all the time just to help out my team and because its just fun to do.

     

         On another note, when i earn an air support killstreak reward im only looking for it to get me 1 kill, and im happy.

      I love shooting a chopper down before it even makes it onto the map b/c I know there is some guy on the other team that worked really hard to get it going FUUUUUUU!!!!! Makes my day.

      Air support got shot down in mw2 just like in they do in mw3 and there was no point incentive in mw2. They should give out some kind of nerf to the stinger, like longer lock ons or giving streaks more flares.

             @JSlayer211 - I know what you mean man, haha. I love shooting down the Osprey gunner or escort airdrop before they drop the crates. I can only imagine the look on the dudes face who called it in.

         

             @Maobmauler - Nah man, there shouldnt be any nerf to any launcher. The lock-ons already take a good couple seconds to lock on already. Plus, blind-eye pro makes the lock-on quicker anyways.

    I always have one class that has Blind Eye Pro + Stinger because, more than likely, nothing will get shot down if i don't do it myself.  Quit crying about your streaks getting shot down.  If, however, you want to complain to me about how unrealistic a recon drone dispensing IR chaff is, without ample distancing time, I will gladly listen.

      Erric you say quit crying lol yet you will happily cry about a recon drone. Can't anybody ever say something about what they see as a problem without being called a cryer lol

       

      I just won't be using anything higher than a pred now so I can easily move on. I just was making a point

    ive been shooting stuff down since cod4 well before you got points for it and i will continue to do so

    I have pretty good success with the attack helicopter and have no issues the way things are currently set up. If it gets shot down quick so be it and props to the other team for being smart for once. After all it is a relatively low kill streak and should be able to be taken out a little easier than say a 12 streak. The only thing that should change is the Pave Low should get 1 more flare to be equal to the AC130.

     

    When I run solo I see more of the hey I have blind eye on so I am not going to shot down anything type of player so I get most of my stinger kills when I play solo. When I play with my clan it is more often a race to see who can shoot down airsupport the fastest

    It's balanced the way it is. For a free point, it's surprising how many people still refuse to shoot down killstreaks. I shot down 4 attack choppers and 2 pave lows in one match because no one else on my team would do it.

     

    From the other side, I'm always kind of in awe at how many free kills I rack up with a chopper. One shot is all it takes, but no one takes the time to take it down. They'd rather give me 5+ free kills than to take out their stinger for a few seconds. Crazy.

      5 kills from the attack helicopter lol that would go straight to a pavelow. Maybe I'm just unlucky I play Dom and the most kills its ever got me is 3 mostly it's 1 kill or downed before it enters the map. Maybe I'm just unlucky but even pavelows only usually get 3 kills and that's a 12 ks lol

        Yeah man, it's not uncommon for me. Sure it gets shot down right off the bat sometimes, but most of the time it runs its complete course.

         

        One thing to keep in mind is that I play core TDM and KC. You're playing against more objective players in games like domination. My killstreaks get shot down pretty quickly in objective-based game modes as well.
