Do you ever use Airdrop Traps?

I recently started using them religiously because I find them so fun. Here is a video showing some of my favourite techniques with the airdrop, although the first one is more just cold-blooded trolling lol.
Enjoy good people!
i usually don't because i feel like i need to die to get someone else to go for it. for me, that doesn't seem worth it.
Why do you feel the need to die when you use them? Just throw them across the map lol and most of the time some idiot tries to get them.
i throw them, and they just sit there. i always feel like i need to bait them by pretending to pick it up. now sitrep is being used more often, as well. they always do make for funny videos, though.
Agreed but I guess it depends what playlist you are on. In Ground War, for example, you can just launch them near the enemies spawn and 9 times out of 10 someone will pick them up. Plus in Ground War you have more chance of getting a multi-kill with one, which is great fun.
I use them. They work. Its funny sometimes.
I remember when I was playing Mission once and one of my teammates through it at a spawn point. I and somebody else were trapped by it and couldn't get out (This is the ultimate airdrop trap).
Lol yes that is the ultimate trap but it would be difficult to set up. I wish I'd have though of that when making my video!
I usaly spam them for the first few minutes of the game and after a few deaths most of the other team start to asume all care packages are air drop traps then i swich to my real care packages and nobody will try to take them

The enemy team fell for it nine times in just one game lol.
How do i embed videos on my iphone here? Or is it not possible.
There is an embed tool in the reply box.
Lol that's pretty funny nice work
Somtimes, but not often, mainly only for the challenge when it shows up. Otherwise not really worth the use since so many use SR and can see it is a trap; and if using a mic sometimes they warn their team about it.
Yes true sitrep ruins everything lol, but for me it still seems to work in Ground War which happens to be my favorite playlist.
It was more effective at launch and with the christmas noobs, but if other players in your party run assault care packages the booby trap becomes more effective, and even if the enemy figures it out it will help protect your buddies legit care packs excl sit rep users of course. They are also fun in demo to use as a last line of defense if you cant protect the bomb. I have quite a few heads up kills throwing the booby trap right on the bomb and having it fall on the defuser
I only use them if I want to be a dick. Otherwise it's just not worth it.
You can throw it over to them but I find that makes it pretty obvious, every time I've done it, it just sits there. You really have to sell it in order for it to work. You don't necessarily have to die for it, you can just lay prone or something and pick someone off trying to steal it and then immediately move. 9 times outta 10 they just suspect you've been killed by one of their teammates and go right for it. Just a lot of work for one kill is all.
No. I only run support on one class and I only run UAV and Vests on that class. I never liked Air Drop Traps, as they are never a garunteed kill. Waste of a slot if you ask me. Now with the advent of the last TU, more and more people are running Sit Rep trying to get it pro, making Air Drop Traps even more useless.
Yes but it is more a tool for having fun than legitamately getting kills with. Sometimes people don't pick it up but I find that most times they do, and sometimes you get a double/triple kill, so I put it on par with a predator missile.
i use them now and again i throw them into the crates dropped off by the enermy osprey gunner for some strange reason people always go for it even though its a completely different colour
Lol I do that as well it works like a charm ![]()
Like you said they are fun i play Ground Wars all the time so these come in handy
You inspired me to make a musical.
I will never forget the day I got my airdrop cherry broken lol. I was so excited that I was about to steal someone's stuff and then...I laughed so hard I almost cried. But now I am a sitrep junkie and I'm always on the mic telling my team if its a trap or not. I never fall for it again.
Lol I can't remember my first time but it must be annoying thinking you've got something great and then it blows up.
I like to toss them out randomly. Sometimes people go for them other times people just get hit by them when they drop. Its fun stuff either way!
Lol agreed
After reading this, I went home and decided to give it a try. LOL it was definitely funny when someone took it, but after the first time never worked again in that match.
Probably best when someone tosses down an osprey. But it's typically a one time thing during a match, if it works at all.
I quickly removed it the next match as I would rather run counter UAV. It's a fun gimmick, but definitely should be moved down a notch to the UAV level. It's not NEARLY as useful as counter UAV or vests to be on the same bracket.
If it was moved down a notch though think of the spamming, lol. You could run hardline and get a trap every three kills without deaths.
Yea, you could spam it pretty fast. However, it still would not be nearly as useful as spamming UAV's. The more of those on the map the less likely anyone would even bother to try it. Primarily I use the airdrop traps as portable fire cover for flag captures.
Would be pretty neat to have a team build a wall of air drop traps to block off an entrance/exit with them though lol. Like, block off the B flag of resistance with airdrop traps lol.
Can't they shoot still with impact and without it on?
I'm not certain, but it still gives the advantage to the person behind the crate vs the one in the open. Good for taking those troublesome flags that leave little to no cover while you are capping though.
Everyone anticipates that you will be in the "known good capping spot" for any particular flag. Not in some obscure capping spot that you created behind a crate.
That would be awesome lol now I have an idea for my next Youtube vid ^_^
I think they work great in Face Off modes.
Agreed, there is nothing more fun than going in game-chat and shouting "Oh no, he's gonna get my Care Package!" just after you die so they can hear you.
