what do you think does having gold guns make you a better player than someone with none ?
no it just shows that your practiced with the gun
just what i was thinking but ive had messages from people bragging that they have 20+ gold guns and how amazing they are
means nothing ![]()
Do you think posting a stupid thread makes it any smarter?
stupid thread hahaha at least im not crying about stuff being over powered lighten up ![]()
No it probably means either 1. they play too much or 2. they don't prestige
I would have about that many gold guns if I never prestiged
LOL. Usually the people in lobbies bragging about all thier fancy gold guns are those who have never prestiged. Not so fancy after all.
I never prestiged, ive been playing this game since after I waited in line to get it, all my smg's are gold, I have quit a few other guns and shotties gold, but I wouldnt go in a lobby and say anything about gold guns.. seems stupid
Pfhh. Dont listen to these n00bs. Having gold guns gives them a x1.5 damage buff. And you get a lag comp advantage of 2ms. Obviously these people dont know what they are talking about. Gold guns are so much better than normal guns.
Way to let out the secret deadestllama...but you forgot the biggest advantage.
When people somehow use underhanded trickery to kill you, you can always rush back to the spot for a revenge kill because 9/10 they will still be there, picking up your gold gun.
What Tosh, who told you that nonsense, lol
Why would it make you better? This is silly
Lol! I just read your post in another discussion about gold guns. No, it just means you used one gun more often.
Gold guns in Bops made me play better or at least think I did because it was hard earned and looked awesome, in this it takes no effort so doesn't make me raise my game or anything.
Lol, no.
im 20th Lvl 80 i have all guns gold and i hate using the gold camo it stands out to much i use red tiger more than anything because its dark
My fav is Red camo or sometimes Blue ![]()
agreed
hex and choco are 2 i like the best
gold guns mean that you can find some pretty cool ones if you run out of ammo or just wanna try another gun. i love to play against people with gold guns. it's like a chance to test drive them all.

Yeti
to answer the question, though, it doesn't mean anything but that you have used that gun for a while. doesn't make your manhood grow.
Most people with a lot of gold guns just never prestiged.
this is a secret but dont u now youre gun becomes more powerfull with gold camo,
No, it does not, that is just a myth and not a fact. stop trying to lure people into believing that myth.

I believe he was being sarcastic TSD ![]()
eh my sarcastic radar is on the fritz, so I miss it sometimes. ![]()
I think going after gold camos is just something else in the game to do. I'm 10th prestige, I have all ARs and Snipers gold. I also have the ump 45, P90, MP7, 1887, and Striker Gold. Out of all those I think the M4A1 looks the best. I like how its not all gold and some of the hardware is black. I think some of the other guns would look better if they had a similar treatment.
The only thing having a gold gun means is you used it a lot. Cod4 was the only cod where having a gold gun meant you put in work.
i llove seeing g guns on the ground i love to pick them up and kill the owner
I think its just like having a trophy or medal, its an accomplishment. I stopped prestiging recently so that i could achieve maximum proficiency/gold camo with as many weapons as i could before Blops2 comes out. I'm not doing this for recognition, i'm just doing it because 1)i'm fed up prestiging and 2) i found i was using the same guns/classes every prestige.
It means there to scared to try any new guns, or there done prestiging and just turning them all gold.
No, it just shows you played with that gun long enough to get it. Anyone can get gold guns in this game if they take enough time with that weapon to do so. It requires no skill at all to get gold weapons in MW3.
So anyone that thinks that having gold in MW3 means they are skilled or good or should be awed or feared is just foolish and full of themselves.
Everyone knows that having gold guns makes that gun kill people faster!!
/sarcasm.
NO....having gold guns does NOT make you better than everyone else. I have a couple gold guns but I suck A**. Like Trial says.....just means you use the gun a lot is all. I don't use gold camo anyway...takes my eyes off the battlefield because it is shiny!! To distracting for me.
Nope it just shows dedicaton to the game and the gun
I think, like every other "status" symbol, in CoD, you have to take it with a grain of salt. It may mean they just use it a lot. It may mean they haven't prestiged, it may even mean they boosted to earn it. You just don't know. I think the way to tell is to watch them in game and decide then.
Like K/D.. a high one could mean you are a good player. It could also mean that you camp like crazy and never take any risks. It could mean you kill whore on objective modes. It could again mean you boosted.
Its not a clear indication of skill. I still think Stats and Awards are meaningless if you can't back it up in game.
If someone is bragging about it, I would be suspicious of that.
I agree with Craig though, I really felt accomplished when I got my first Gold Gun in Black Ops. I really felt like I earned it, and I really felt like it was a token of my hard work and perseverance. They aren't that hard to get on MW3, they take mostly time.
I'm not a great player ....... I dont think terrible though. but if I'm thinking right I have 23.
All the ars, all the lmgs, 4 smgs ( half way though level 30 on another) 3 shotties and the barrett.
I've never been big on prestiging and I decided that I'd go for 1000 kills on all my primaties before prestiging. I've taken a biy of flak for not prestiging yet, but the way I see it, it only took about the first 2 weeks before I could have prestiged without using one bit of double xp so i really dont see much prestige in prestiging.
I think the sniper rifles and the modell 1887 are going to take me a while. I've been working on the barret for quite some time, and though its gold, I still have about 100 kills to go yet.
I personally am a big fan of Prestiging, but I have respect for what you are doing. What bugs me is people who don't prestige, but use the same weapons on every map.
You are doing something I don't have the patience for, which is trying to level up every gun. Quite an accomplishment if you can achieve it sir.
Once I got into it I started thinking about doing all the challenges for all the primaries too. But the headshots just arent going to happen, and I skipped the underbarrel shotty on a few.
I do hope my patience holds out though because I'm running out of the easier ones.
I actually thought a couple times about tryiing to complete every challenge available for everything before prestiging, but I think I'll be dead by then. .... lol.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who has done that.
your right there is not much of real reason to prestige. You do not gain much from it that is of actualy use or purpose. I only prestige until I get the as many custom classes as I want for the game, after that there is absoultely no reason to do it anymore for me.
I actually hate the gold camo on guns. Even in black ops I hated it. In saying that also I think I have only had like 1 or 2 guns get to gold and I'm in my 10th prestige now (I did say before MW3 came out I would hit max prestige in June and then they changed the max prestige. Sneaky buggers) In all honesty if someone thinks a camo makes them better they are experiencing the placebo effect that they somehow made up in their brain.
so true.
Getting all the guns gold makes you a better. If you can master them all and do well with them, then there is no reason why you should be looked down upon. It's the challenge of getting around 1000 kills with each gun that adds to the fun, regardless of your prestige.
Hey ...... if a placebo works, keep using it ..... eh?
I can see how having a gold weapon might make one feel better, and if they feel better they may do better................ just a confidence thing.
Personally I find it more difficult once i hit around level 31. i've always wondered if there is a thing such as sniperfrog, because I seem to hit a point with every weapon where my progress starts slipping backwards.
As far as preference ..... i prfer camo to camoflauge me rather than make me stand out. But its still fun going 100 kills or so with each one gold after I unlock it.
If you have a gold druganov you have my respect. Anyting else and it just looks cool.
