The lag is..

much worse!

 

I've called my ISP and they said its not possible to boost my Internet Speed at the moment, and I'm stuck at 2mbps. I could play just fine before with this connection, how come I can't anymore? - I can only play when people that live in my country play (when six of them are online at the same time), so my friend that has a good connection pulls host and we don't lag as much. My question is, what should I do? Any ideas on how I should improve my Internet, ports or anything? If anyone could teach me, it'd be great.

    I called my too. They gave me an address to ping. The result was 10 ms and they said that, I can't have it better.

    The problem is obviously within the game networking/ hosting/compensation/matchmaking.

    My advice is to stop upgrading ISP and playing with router settings. It's pointless.

    The game is broken from day 1 and will remain this way.

      Yea i tried to boost my internet.. no improvement! Messed with the dmz.. port forwarding.. and No Improvment! so what does this say about this game? It is completely messed up and its just a bike running with a loose chain that pops. I cannot wait for black ops 2.

      What exactly should I change?

       

      Its getting to a point I die before the guy shows up, or what happened in the last match before I rage quit: I saw a helicopter attacking a sniper with an MP9 silenced, so I tried to get him with my silenced SCAR-L and ended up dying (regardless of he being attacked by the chopper at the same time I strafed him, I got the hitmarkers and everything, but died anyway).

       

      Before, I'd use the UMP45, the P90, the MP7 and even the PM9. I've stopped doing so because of the lag. I pull out an ACR silenced to kill people from large distances that haven't spotted me, or have but I'm using cover when they see me. Its the ONLY way I can win a gunfight. I use the MP7 ocasionally and the P90 remains forgotten except for really CQC maps.

        I pretty much gone in the same fase you have because of the lag.. i am now scopped in around every corner i go because i hate losing to the lag almost every gun fight.. so being pre-aimed gives me some advantage, but i still lose regularly.. so nothing you can do.

        Use weapons that can kill fast  (ACR, MP7+rapid fire, Barret), keep quiting once you spot lagging players. Wait for BO2.

        Im experiancing the same thing! I get killed before anyone shows up, or better yet, i get killed from around corners, behind cars, and (my favorite) from where the ground slopes down to the cement tubes on hardhat, because apparently theres a new bullet that goes with the curve of the ground and directly into my balls.

         

        'll put a whole clip into someone - and trust me, im not a bad shot, my sights are DIRECTLY on the bastard - and he somehow survives it as if hes playing as friggen Neo, and shoots me down in one shot.

         

        I know its the game, everything else is great, blops works fine, every other online game i have works fine - yet for some reason... a multi billion dollar grossing game cant just get it right for the sake of saving their franchise when they release the next train wreck of a game. ASKDASKDLJAKLSDJAKLSDJASKLDJASKDJ!

          If your on the short end of the stick of the lag comp system ie the host or very close ping to the host you're running behind other players so even though on your screen it shows your sights DIRECTLY on the bastard and you get plenty of hitmarkers, your opponent has already shot you and killed you at this point.  The damage you receive from any player in the game is always delayed for some reason meaning you get shot before actually knowing you've been shot and that is why it appears as if you get instakilled by one bullet.  Effing garbage = mw3.. hey Shytivision how about you patch mw2 to kill the uav hacking on ps3 now so I can go back and play a game that actually works.  Sledgehammer can literally lick my b*lls.

    Yeah there really is nothing you could do. Increasing internet speed won't do anything because that is what I did (not for mw3 but whatever). Anyway I have 20mbps and I still get lag. It is the game itself. Nothing else to blame.

    I hate to be the messenger of doom but BO2 will be no different.  Activision and the developers really don't care about the PS3 players, they just want your money.

    Oh i wont be buying black ops 2. Well maybe ill buy it just to make a youtube video of me pooping on it, putting it in a bag then lighting it on fire outside their front office. Youtube fame... HERE I COME.

     

    And i understand why they dont care about the ps3 players. Why care about the better system when they have the cult of Xbox forking over boatloads of cash to pay to use the internet, that they ALREADY pay for to play their games.

     

    I take that as console discrimination and i wont have it.

      I'm not buying either, until I have seen enough people say it works like a dream.  I think if that happens I'll be the one dreaming.

       

      Trouble is the XBox is much easier to write code for so the PS3 always gets a port and thanks to Microsoft the XBox gets all the attention once the game is released.  We are just an after thought, if that.  Activision have a good strategy though, alternating the developers each year means every PS3 player thinks the next CoD will be different and better.  It never is though.  This time last year every one here was complaining about BO and how Treyarch sucked, could't wait for IW to return, now it is the reverse.  People have short memories, but I am like an elephant and never forget.  Treyarch blew it with BO for me, but I know many thought it was good, it lagged badly when I played it and the host seemed to either have horrendous lag or a major advantage.  The original IW are the only people who knew what they were doing and did a great job with MW2, it has been downhill since they got booted out.

    Hi,

     

    I realized in todays clan op that the problem may not be game networking or matchmaking. Perhaps my problem is poor marksmanship.

    For instance... On Interchange an Attack Heli comes out and I dump a whole mag without any hit markers.

    Or in Resistance, I'm prone at the small gate in the yard as an enemy comes at me from the A Dom stairs. In the kill cam, I watch as my stream of bullets from an AR follows this guy as he strafed and killed me with his SMG.

    Most conclusive is my fail on Seatown when I run into an assailant by the chicken cages. Apparently, I forgot to hit the shoot button as this guy kills me before I even fire a shot.

    So keep up the good work IW, *your game rocks!

    A 2mbs connection is laughable. Join Fios and get the 35/35 plan like me. They're upgrading my speed free next month to 75/35.  Lag has always been bad though. If you guys check the top of the screen when the game is looking for matches, check out the ping number. <50 ms is perfect. Anymore and it lags. It increasing its lag gradually by each increment the game searches for. Higher number = more lag.  I find it strange I can't ever find a game with <50 ms lag as I have a <30ms ping and live near a big city in the US. I even turned off DLC and tried.
