What Ive learned about shotguns

They work in HC now! Never really used them up until now, really no need to as it is easier to hipfire with a submachine gun but still have the range to knock down enemies far away. I recently started using the Spas with range on HC, and it is fing awesome. Got this game where I went 47-5 (gun kills only), as well as a couple more, including a 35-5 on Interchange. This is the only way this game is fun for me anymore. If lag comp is on your side, MP7 (or any other gun) is way too easy.
Using shotguns with Range in HC seems a little too easy for me, but sometimes lag comp will help someone out when I shoot them point blank.
HA!. I got hitmarkers if I shot people past 10 feet. I would hazard to say that shotguns are really rather useless in HC, since you could just hipfire 2 bullets from a subbie/AR and kill ememies just as fast. Also, if they are so easy, I would love to see some HC shotgun gameplay from you to see just how "easy" it is.
You really cant say any gun on HC is too easy as they are all virtually the same to use, the only really challenging gun to use outside snipers is the Deagle and that's still pretty easy, 1 shot kills from distance but the only problem with it is running into groups with the recoil and the fact the second guy can drop you in one.
Akimbo. Also, the limited effective range of shotguns is what I think makes them "challenging", which I say loosely since this game was designed to be played by trained chimps.
To be honest I dont see many Akimbo on HC, most of the guys who would use them on core come to HC and put on an RPG isntead or some other stupid launcher, as for shotguns being challenging I don't know about that, they were hard when when I first started using them but once you know the routes to take when using a shotgun its not much different from using anything else.
If you know the routes to take with everything, it isnt that hard.
Riot shield-the only challenge left in the game.
Even knowing the routes I cant use a Sniper at all on HC, that's probably to do with my aim though, you miss and your dead and I miss quite a bit with the snipers, didn't even consider the riot shield but yeah, that would be a huge challenge on HC.
Sniping isnt so bad, except for with the Druganov, that thing is a PoS.
The SVD is usable, but you can't spray with it like an RSASS. They are patching it though, so maybe people will be able to spray it in the future.
So even though it has the power of an AR, it should have the kick of the barret x2?
You just have to use Kick and time your shots. If you don't use Kick on a sniper rifle, then I don't know what you're doing with your life. I doubt they'll patch the SVD to have as little recoil as the RSASS, but it'll probably be close.
That might be the problem, although it kicked like a mule even with kick and a silencer. I was trying to use stability with ACOG on it, which worked for the RSAS but sucks for the Druganov.
I wouldn't use acog + Stability on a 2-shot sniper because the recoil would suck for a follow up shot.
I play HC, but the principle is the same: if I miss a shot, I die because the recoil eliminates the ability to take a follow up shot.
Exactly. That's why I won't use anything but Kick on a sniper, just in case.
And I meant to write more challenging by the way.
what I have learned - it only takes one shot to kill me but three shots for me to kill anyone else.
Yeah the SG's are smoother in HC, but you still get the occasional hitmarker within 5-10ft once and awhile. In S&D though that can be the make it or break it moment to.
Even with damage it still happens from time to time.
Sucks but that's how the dice land sometimes.
Shotguns are a joke in MW3, I mean, How can you kill someone with BUCKSHOT from 20 or 30 feet? You would never use a shotgun as your main weapon in combat, and probably SHELLS not buckshot..that being said, most games I play, its usually the guy thats 'really good' with a shotty, that wrecks it...way overpowered, and, tough to beat in close situations
I think you are confusing "00 buckshot" which is what is used in mw3 with "birdshot". 00 Buck shot is actually extremely lethal out to a good range. 00 buch shot in real life is 13 pellets with each pellet being a 33 caliber ball. To put this in perspective the 9mm handgun round is only 35 caliber. Now the 9mm round has rifling and more weight behind each round because of its elongated shape. But a 9mm round is still lethal at 125+ yards. 00 buckshot because it isn't rifled will lose its energy quicker but not that quick. It takes about 75 yards for buckshot to lose enough velocity to stop inflicting mortal wounds and start inflicting flesh wounds. Buck shot is lethal to large animals out to 50+yards. So 20-30 ft. is a chip shot for buckshot. Bird shot is the one that is only lethal to like 15 yards.
In mw3 shotguns are very easy to beat. The pumps and aa12 are anyway. Rapid fire smgs with steady aim and qickdraw will absolutely decimate shotguns. Shotguns are actually really bad in this game. If that is your opinions on shotguns in mw3 then you have not used them.

You did that good with a shotgun on Interchange??? Wow, that would have been something to see. I just might make a class!
Yeah, I saved it and might upload it at a later date, since it was so strange to do that well on Interchange with a shotty.
And I realized that the Model 1887 isnt a complete piece of sh** now. It's a beast in hardcore, I use it all the time
