You have been Moderated

I have received a message via Elite saying that I have been moderated. The comment that was moderated was, "Search the clans for Team ICEE. www.icee360tactical.com".

 

Now this is the second time in months that I have advertised for my clan. This is also the second time I was moderated. My question is, why is it that I was moderated for advertising for my clan, while others are left alone? Call of Duty Elite was and is advertised as a place where players can come together and create clans to play Call of Duty. Now if a clan advertises for their clan, than gets moderated for it, isn't that counterproductive to the whole point of Elite?

 

I cannot believe that my clan is the only clan that has had this done to them. However, I have been all over Elite and see one clan after another advertising for their clan. What is the point of Elite having clans and Clan Operations if clan members and leaders can not advertise for their clans?

 

I spoke with someone via Support Chat and they said that we all are suppose to "flag" the advertising comments that clans make. So if this be true, then why have Elite Clans? It would seem logical that if you want people to join your clan, you would advertise for your clan. So if Elite is designed to give players a place to join clans, then why punish people who advertise for their clan?  This very frustrating.

 

Activision, you advertise that Elite is designed to work with MW3 to give a place where people can join clans and compete. You  have Clan Operations that that allow Clans to compete. You advertise, that Elite will give Clans a sense of being a legit clan. You want people to pay $50 to be a Premium Member on Elite so they can have all the benefits of Elite. You also only count the Premium Members in Clan Operations. Of course this is after people have already purchased MW3 at $60. So the question is, Activision, are clans allowed to advertise for their clan that they have created on your Elite service? If they are not allowed, then what is the point of having Clan Operations, or anything else to do with clans on Elite?

    ELiTE moderates as many of those adverts as possible; I for one hate looking at the comments and being unable to speak to anyone without seeing at least a million spam messages begging for members to level 5 clans.

     

    If you ask me it is pathetic; you want members? advertise your clan on the clan section on THIS website. You were most likely got to quicker because you are also advertising your own website, which is specifically against the ToS of both the ELiTE site and here.

      It's funny how I see everyone else advertising for their's and nothing seems to happen to them. I try it twice. and I get moderated twice, yet I see others do it everyday. It just seems pointless to have a clan, and not be able to advertise for it.

        How do you know that everyone is doing it but YOU are the only one being punished for it. Does activision send you personal messages saying who they are moderating? Trust me , Activision in not picking just on you. they are doing it to all the clan leaders who spam message boards trying to recruit people just to join their little clan. I for one hate going to the clan op's page and seeing thousands of people spamming the board looking for someone with a 1.5 k/d blah blah blah. If they are on the clan op page then by common sense , they are there checking to see how well their clan is doing in the op.

    Hopefully it was one of my reports that ended up getting you "moderated".  I report almost every advertisement I see over there.

     

    It's annoying and as others have said, if I am in the CLAN section, I am probably looking at the status of the CLAN I am already a part of and not interested in any others.

    I say remove the posting privilege to anyone posting clan recruitment in..

     

    (1) Clan Operation's Pages

    (2) Lone Wolf Operation Pages

    (3) All Message Boards except the clan recruitment hub. (http://community.callofduty.com/community/mw3/forums/elite/elite_clan_recruitmen t_hub)

     

    That is a full message board ban if they do not comply...

      If they don't want Clans posting up recruiting messages on the comments, then why not have something that works with the Clans area of Elite? The forums are good, but not all players get on the forums.

       

      With what they have done with Elite so far, they could create something that works both on the Elite website and the console. Kind of like a Clan Lobby. It is where different clans can recruit and advertise for their clans. If people are looking for a clan then they could come and see what's available.

        dude I totally agree, I've been moderated three times, as a leader that sucks bawlz..

         

        how are you suppose to get in touch with other clans other than time consuming process of figuring out who is the leader of 'said' clan, messaging them separately on PS3??

          Please post your clan recruitment messages in the ELITE Clan Recruitment Hub instead of Operations comments.

          This is my point. I knew I wasn't the only one getting moderated for posting recruiting messages. Last night I saw a number of clans posting recruiting messages in the Clan Operations. One of the Operations is here: https://elite.callofduty.com/compete/clan/events/view/1393http:// There is one clan after another posting recruiting messages.

           

          Like I said before, not all Elite users use the forums. How are clans supposed to recruit people for their clans, if we can't recruit where the players are at? The majority of the players are on the console, ane the Elite website.

           

          Elite Staff, you gave us the clan option, you gave us Clan Operations, but we are not allowed to recruit for our clans? Elite Staff, why not give us clans a place on the Elite website and Elite console app to where we can recruit? You say that "Connect" is one of your pillars on the Elite Service, then please give us a Clan Lobby within the "Connect" area of Elite.

            do like i do to recruit for my clan. instead of spamming the message boards where it doesn't belong , recruit people while playing the game. if you see someone playing well and they are not in a clan , ask them to join. if they say yes , type their name into elite to find them and send them a request. it's not that hard to find a way around spamming.

              Recruiting from in-game is what most clans do, including Team ICEE.

              Now this is the reason the clan ops are so easy to get gold. People inviting randoms to join their clan.

               

              A true clan is one that communicates and works well TOGETHER! Not a bunch of randoms or a bunch of great lone wolf players slapped together.

               

              Play online and find players that work well with your play style and communicate well.

               

              If you can't find players online what ever made you think you could find better possible clan mates on a hostile forum like this?

                disagree. randoms won't make your clan better. We invite any person (randoms) but they join a core of players that have been playing with each other for over 4 years. Take that and character with good social outcomes you get a good clan. Clans can't be full of lone gunners, just doesn't work. We had a really good player, but he was a total idiot, so we chucked him out, he never played as a teamplayer and never joined in ops if it 'made his life difficult'. even if he was online.

                 

                so randoms = good as you make them into your way of thinking. if they have character and are a good person they agree to compensate your ideas with theres.

              that is also good, i do this. But this is like my job.

               

              Okay so i am in property

               

              there are two sides, estate agency and auctions

               

              I am an auctioneer, we do not do anything for the buyers/interested parties, they have to do it themselves. However, the estate agents have to bend over backwards for the buyer/interested parties. Thats why their all grumpy

               

              you see what you are doing, is doing the work yourself, when their are easier ways to mass advertise your clan and still get the same outcome. better still, more of them. You get what one person a week? may join you and then leave a week later? I had 46 people come last week for tryouts, 6 of them have joined for this weeks ops. I have also made 4 others my aprentices a month ago, all 4 are still with us. You create your bond with your clan mates once there in. You can randomly chat to them through game, of course, you may make a friend but not a clan mate. (for many reasons)

               

              there are other forums other than elite to go on. I am guessing i am not allowed to say due to the tnc's of this forum. but just look on google, plenty of them that JUST do recruitment and free agent sort of stuff for games or just cod.

      the free speech for advertising & marketing act.

       

      its law to advertise. I shall advertise where i like.

       

      I do it ONCE, in ONE relevant forum and one operation.

       

      It is small, it doesn't take up any space.

       

      When you read anewspaper what do you see on the front page, the second and the third, hell the whole damn thing? adverts. People/companies NEED spaces as such to get employees/ odd jobs/ chatlines whatever. this is a civilised global world that ALL have this. It is more prevelant that it becomes this on the internet, especially when Activision said it was going to 'bring gamers together like facebook brought social activities together' so far it has broken down numerous times, made xbox (the worlds **** console) go first,, made il-prepared timings on clan ops, cater for AMERICANS not EUROPEANS or anyother GLOBAL country and it still has billions in profit. Umad? yes i am. Take our money and screw us harder more than British taxes does mate.

       

      Freedom, capitalism and globalism is what humanity is today, activision should be taken to court for their crimes.

        Get a load of mister high and mighty.... This is NOT a free speech soap box. It is a corporate forum and what they say goes.

         

        I for one am glad they have limited clan recruiting to ONE section and are Moderating all others for this spam.
