Players have the right to "spray and pray" they are using the guns suited for that role. Whether its hip firing an AR, SMG, or Semi-auto Shotgun. When on the run and straffing firing from the hip at CQC when your knife isnt available is your best option with that weapon since its what it was meant to do.

How about you use the sniper as its intended role. Use it to spot enemies and give call outs for your team, control a choke point/line of sight from a far distance, kill enemies from a far and strike fear into the enemy that they avoid your line of sight and are forced to go a different way.

These things would give your team and yourself a huge advantage, but NO you want to be cool and run around like a chicken with its head cut off and attempt to quickscope an enemy at CQC when he has a shotgun

Also, let us have it so in order to get a sniper kill, you have to hit the damn target. I hate getting quick scopered and seeing the bullet hit the wall 10' to my left and I still die.

 

People with use QS and TS are not more skilled, they just use methods that require little to no skill.

Honestly, the QS doesn't bother me all that much. Perhaps its because I play HC and don't notice it as much? I personally am more bothered by people who machine gun semi-automatic snipers at me and get more shots off than my Assault rifle.

As far as Quickscoping is concerned... someone earlier suggested it be more like Battlefield. This just wouldn't work in CoD, which is an arcade-style game. It needs to be faster and more up-tempo. Sniping isn't that hard in CoD, lets admit that, but the challenge goes beyond aiming down the scope and hitting your enemy. Good snipers are able to choose locations that offer them cover, is defensible, and offers an overwatch of an area where they can pick off the enemy. I am not a fan of those who run around with the sniper, but its a skill like any other in the game. My only qualm with QSers is that the animation usually tells a different story than what actually happened. Most of the QS I have seen, the crosshairs are nowhere near the enemy. I don't think that you should just be able to point your Sniper rifle in my general direction and it should assume the bullet is going to hit me.  Snipers are Precision weapons, they aren't meant for suppression like an LMG and while they can cause a lot of damage upon impact, they don't generally spray. When I bring up my Assault Rifle or an SMG, it doesn't automatically aim in on my enemy, and if I miss by a fraction of an inch my bullet stream sails right by their head, so why should a sniper rifle automatically go right into the enemy? Make sure we keep em honest and make the shots have to be accurate.

That being said, its a skill in the game. I'm not very good at it myself, and have gotten a few here and there, but for those who can do it honestly, more power to you.

Snipers are slow, methodical weapong systems that aren't made for running around.  Eliminate the ACOG RSASS, for example.

Saw an idiot today play in DOM on Black Box.

He was repeatedly jumping off the upper deck of the 747 at B Dom spinning in mid air a randomly firing. I got 5 kills on this troll and moved on.

His team lost and he went 2/24............and I am obsolutely certain he did not get the"xxX3p1cXxx" trick shot for the montage.
