and if that's the best easycap can do(i seen worse...), then might as well just save up for a better recorder, or better yet, DONT commentate. I'm going to be harsh here, aka, tell the truth, but to be honest, there's a billion commentators out there, its hard to be original and even if you do put out the extra $$$ and time, there's a one in a million chance that you will ever become "youtube famous" and then, what have you gained? A thousand kids following you?

windows movie maker 2.6 or windows live movie maker

i use windows live movie maker 2.6 cant take as many file types but 2.6 can let you narrate the timeline

some sort of video/audio ripper converter just in case
