why the maps in bo sucked

Posted by connor115 on May 12, 2012 10:32 AM

i found that i repeatedly found myself ignoring most maps and end up playing ascension. this is mostly because ascension is very simply better made. the map has the perfect proportions of bieng wide enough to **** train and small enough to be forced into a tactical situation. moon and call of the dead and all the others were like paying dice. there was no tactical play to it due to the proportions, what do you guys think?

Now you see, Ascension is the only map I don't play on. I'm not entirely sure why, the map is perfectly fine. I just always end up playing either Moon or Shangri-La. To me, they seem the more adventurous and difficult maps. Just as good as Der Riese IMHO.

What do you mean no tactical play? Running trains in Zombies, at least to me, is extremely boring. I'd much rather have fun and only play to like round 15 than do the same thing EVERY round to round 45+.

Call of the Dead, yes it was big but it had it's areas for circle strategies. For example, the bottom of the lighthouse or any floor, other than the top of the lighthouse, was useful for circles. And other places as well.

Moon was fun because, despite there being areas for circle strategies (biodome and the area at the 74u for example), there were many points of entry for the zombies and the areas themself were very tight which makes for a more adrenaline pumping game. Also, whenever I play with people, I like to pick an area where we all stand and make a stand against the wall of zombies rather than each pick a certain spot to round them up. Makes the game more fun.

So in my opinion, all of the maps in BO were great. Shangri-La was probably the most entertaining as most of the map was very tight, making it close to impossible to do a circle strategy. I didn't find any of them disappointing.

your right smaller maps like shangri la and five is the most funniest with 4 players because u can camp in a group and pwn zombies!! instead of killing zombies by your self and making trains

I like Call of the Dead and Shangri-La.

Moon and "FIVE"  are not that great in my opinion.

    Ascension and Kino were ok.

I liked every map except shangral( I never played on it so I dont hate it but never experieced it), five, but worst of all I hate F***ing Ascencion. Lets start out with Ascension. First of all you had to go through alot of trouble to packapunch. Second it was very hard. Every time if you want to get far you have to r*** train with a thunder gun. Lastly it wasn't that amusing. Five was horrible because the zombies could spawn in the teleporters. Also I didn't like having to camp in the elevators because they were small (natch is another thing because the zombies only come from one direction(by the way that band F***ing sucks)). But most importantly I didn't use the box because the F***ing lab floor is so confusing. Lastly like ascencion you have to go yhrough alot of trouble to pack a punch. TREYARCH PLEASE READ MY Complaint (But over all I liked the zombies except these maps).

How hard is it to pack a punch?? Its suppose to be hard. Unlike Call of the Dead, Kino Der Toten, and Five where it was easy to pack a punch. Shangri La was hard with random's, Moon was too. Der Riese was easy to do it but you had to do work, just like Ascension. I do agree if you want to get far on Ascension you had to r*pe train. But you can still camp on that map. Kino and Der Riese were good maps for how fast pace they were. They keep making maps bigger and bigger. That's why its not going be as fun as the old maps.

big maps are good as long as they have tight and open areas, like Shangri-la and to a lesser extent, CoTD. Agreed PaP is SUPPOSED to be hard. I disagree about needing to **** train on ascension, i just camp by PhD, use the lunar lander, run to another lander, hold there until i am overun, use the lander etc.

PaP on ascension hard? lol. all you have to do is activate THREE landers. you run up to the pad and press square. as for the trains. you only have to do that to get far if you suck at zombies in general.

Personally I liked it all. Whether it be strategies or not, i thought it was really fun. Shang ri La was probably my least favorite. Not sure why, but anyways I though FIVE was by far my favorite!

Each zombies map is made differently and requiire different strategies. Sure the PaP is hard to get to on some maps but that is just part of the map that you have to figure out. I would prefer to have to work for it, it is too easy just paying money to get an upgraded gun. There should be obstacles needed to be overcome to get to it.
