first post hope this helps
This article shows you how to increase compatibility between the Thomson router and some multiplayer internet games, specifically those on the XBOX PS3 and wii.
If you are confronted with the error on your game that your connection NAT type is strict, then this will allow you to set it to open.
You will need to connect to the router via telnet.
If you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista then you will need to install the telnet application first.
To enable telnet go to control panel → programs and features→ turn windows features on and off, then tick the box next to telnet client and click OK. Windows will now spend a few minutes enabling this feature.
Once telnet is enabled you need to connect to the router.
Press the Windows Key (to the right of the Ctrl key) and R together.
In the run box that appears delete all the text and type telnet 192.168.1.254 and click OK.
You will now be asked for a username, enter your router username, this is usually admin.
You will now be asked for a password, enter your router password, this is usually the serial number and must be entered in capital letters.
You are now logged into the command line interface of the router.
Copy and paste the following commands into the window.
:connection unbind application=CONE(UDP) port=69
:connection unbind application=CONE(UDP) port=3074
:connection unbind application=CONE(UDP) port=3478-3479
:connection unbind application=CONE(UDP) port=88
These commands may produce an error, please ignore this if they do.
Now please copy and paste the following commands into the window. These should not produce an error, please let us know in the comments if they do.
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=55-66
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=68-499
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=501-5059
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=5061-7647
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=7649-27009
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=27012-65353
Assuming there were no errors, please restart your XBOX/PS3/PC/wii, and you should have no further problems with strict NAT.
My NAT is already Open
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Or you can port forward it.
You rock! I tried so many things and now my NAT is finally open! Thanks
glad i could help and it works for all comps tryed port forwarding ect to no avail dont know what it was but never had a prob with black ops ect just this 1 but all running fine now
Hi
Im using a Thomson TG585v8 and xbox 360. had open nat until the recent title update on MW3 now Ive a strict nat type. Ive also got a ps3 running mw2 with open nat type on same router? Ive followed the steps with telnet but when typing in the password for my router (usually the serial number) it says its incorrect and closes the connection. I have tried all the numbers on the base of the actual modem and case sensitive but no joy. An online search says that Thomson uses Administrator as the username and no password but this does not work either. Any ideas?
did u maybe change your password? if not reset router @ back will need a small pin this will put it back to factory settings and your password will now be back to your router serial num hope this helps same here havent had any probs with black ops ect just mw3 :-)

Hi can you help! I followed your instructions above in going through windows and telnet to open up my nat type, i have a thomson speedtouch st585v6sl and at first Great it worked! however when shutting down my wii and going back on 2 nights later my nat type was strict again!!! i have sne tried the same process over and over but my nat type remains strict!
now do i really need to have open or moderate to enjo this game as I dont have issues playing people on line, i still see that 7000 people are on line which most people say is the number at present, and if thi is problem can it b solved or will i need to invest in a new router? i have had this router now for several years since going wireless! please help its frustrating that i may be missing out on quicker match making r other issues, how ever as things stand if moving to moderate or open mean i have a chance of host here in the UK then i'd rather remain on stricy nat type!
Ok, I can't help you on how to adjust your settings but here's my experience. I'm UK too, my nat is mostly open on a relatively slow, but usable internet. Sometimes my router nat will change to moderate by itself. I have no idea why, but it happens. Now, I read in another post that someone thinks you should go for a moderate setting, mainly to avoid being host, but I never get host, but have noticed that when nat is open, my games suffer badly, like everyone seems to be a few seconds ahead all the time. When its on moderate, i'll have good games and enjoy it much more. So if this is true, and you know how to do it, I would go for the moderate settings. Hope this makes sense for you..
Hi Pauly01, thanks for responding at least, to be honest at nearly 40 i should maybe have an idea how my router does or does no work but i dont, it was not until Bigalnkezz posted the above on how to open did I attemot to change my router, also on Bops when they advised to port forward I had no issues and all was fine on that COD title in playing world wide but MW3 is different!
I have been chatting a moment ago with Beastblood uk and he seems to think it might be my IS provider AOL and a change of ISP and a newer router may solve this strict type NAT! to be honest on strict I nevr host apart from on special ops, and i do not have any of the issues so many people have talked about in Lag, yes sometimes I feel that i'm a few seconds behind on some games and get owned big time but i wait till the game is over and enter another lobby and it seems to solve itself! I think the appeal of an open NAT type is quicker match making and if this opens me up to playing with more people!
This i hope will be solved if they patch the alley system and I can send invites and have some allies to play! look out for me here in the UK around 10pm -2am most nights (BishBosh}{e// UK thanks again maybe Bigalnkezz will respond as he/she seems quite tecky!

I'm 48 and know nothing about how a router works. lol.
Why don't you give OFC clan a look on overfortyclan.freeforums.org
We're a layed back clan that play for fun and have no tryouts or minimum kdr requirements. At least give us a look and see what you think. Also, we use a teamspeak communication on our laptops/pc's. Look forward to seeing you there if you decide to come along..
YOU SIR ARE A LEGEND!!!

Did you see and try that forum link I posted on here for you a while back? It was a forum about those routers and how to customize them.
Yeah, didnt work pal
Is there any way i can undo this? I did it and now everytime i try to connect to the internet on my ps3 it says 'connection to ip address timed out' or something.
you can just remove the ports you open from your router and restart it
i don't know how to do that..
All I got was failed to delete on the first one and then unknown command on the rest.Any help please?
I've always had open since day 1. Even when I'm downloading the world, I still have open.
Anyone know how to get an open NAT with an MBR900 or MBR95 router and a pantech UML290 modem in 4G mode. I already know how to do it with 3G. Got it to moderate with 4G but no dice on Open.
ALLELUYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY NAT TIPE WAS ALWAYS MODERATE AND STRICT NOW IS OPEN
To be honest, I never get Strict NAT Type. So I don't need to worry.
Ack X! Computer content. I can no do this.
All I got was failed to delete on the first line and then unknown command on the rest. Any help please?

iv sort of got a problem, my laptop's broken and my sister uses a mac, but my mom's laptop is windows xp, is there a way for me to do it via xp?
Hey Bud.
Did this last night. It worked, had open NAT all night. I gather this is meant to stay Open NAT all the time??? or do you need to redo everytime before I fire up my PS3?. Reason why I ask is the NAT went straight back to stricked this morining. Not so much of an issue to keep doing his prior to MW3 but it would be nice to turn on my PS3 and not see those horrid red letters again.
It worked one week, but today my NAT again turned to STRICK. Daaaamn!!
how do you reverse this and change it back to normal. because now i cant sign in and having all kinds of troubles?
