    Actually if you pay attention, there is some Team Defender footage in that trailer as well!The footage of TDefender is on the skandinavian map, I think it's aground and you see Team Defender in the botton left hand corner over the score and the teammate in front of you carries the flag!I hope it'll be included in the Face Off gamemode Rotation as it's the most fun game mode in MW3 ATM!

     

    BTW, GHANDI, because I was talking about that, can you please look into the spawn system in that game mode?Team Defender is the only game mode I can still play on maps like Outpost, Liberation, Black Box because it's really fast paced!The problem with the spawn is that let's say on Arkaden, the I am the flag carrier and I control the "Remodeling" room, enemies will literally all direction!I know MW3's spawn system isn't good in general, but in Team Defender it's that much worse!Thanks!

    Are you aware of the DLC matchmaking problems for PC and especially relating to the "files different from server" errors that people (including myself) are getting when trying to connect to normal playlist games (that's both with DLC enabled and disabled). An acknowledgement would be most welcome.

     

    For now I have removed the ..\zone\dlc directory and the 42695.sdm file from ..\main, which gets rid of the DLC content and I'm playing in the normal non-DLC rotations, but after a number of matches the error does pop up again prompting a restart of MW3 to fix.

     

    I'm assuming that there are some other file differences between dlc and non-dlc users even on the standard map set.

     

    BTW - Playing the DLC maps,whilst great in terms of design, I can now see why the console guys are freaking out, as the matchmaking in DLC land is dreadful. Prior to installing the DLC I was regularly getting dumped from the UK into continental European lobbies, I am now getting thrown into even more diverse lobbies (assuming of course I can get into anything at all due to the decreased search population). Out of 10's of matches over the last couple of night's I have only been put into one predominantly UK lobby.

     

    Some matches have at least 5 nationalities in them, spread from Spain to Russia and unfortunately I've done enough international travel to have the glamour taken off of the whole "global village" thing and I'd like my virtual combat results to be based on my reflexes and situational awareness, not network latency and coding errors/features. I'd also like to hear a better class of cursing vocabulary, as my EU bethren don't have the rich history in the the english vernacular to draw from ;-) - The latter is I expect beyond your control, but the former should be well within IW capabilities to remedy.

It’s just been announced that she’s moving over to Infinity Ward as the Senior Community Manager. Since IGN is her current employer, they have the scoop with a fond farewell post today. She tells the story of how it all went down on the final episode of the Oddcast.

    Once she gets her feet under her after the transition, I will try to trick her into being a guest on my podcast, too.

    21-21 is a 1.0 K/D ratio. This is lower than your current KDR so your KDR dropped. Nothing WTF about this, just mathematics working.

    thats not really mathematics working its a demonstration of a very wierd stat counting system you have used..

     

    So basically ending a game with no net gain or net loss gives you a negative outcome in your kdr? ermmm

     

    by that measure you'd need to constantly beat your kdr to increase your kdr.. you sure thats right?

    Man, how does your kd not drop if you had a 1 KD in the match and a 1.21 KD overall?!1 is less than 1.21!Of course the drop in KD is not as huge with a 1KD as with a 0.5 KD, but it's still there!If you let's say go 1.208 every match, eventually it will drop!It's just mathematics working man!Calculate for yourself if you don't believe 3-4 guys who already responded to this!

     

    Of course you have to beat your KD in order to make it higher!How could you make your KD higher if you get a 2KD every game and have a 3KD overall?

    Im sorry but that actually is true. The maps are only available for Face Off which is complete crap. I don't neccessarily have a problem with the 1v1's or 2v2's, I just want the maps in ALL game modes. I can guarantee you the maps will all be at least as big as Rust or Nuketown were.     The Face Off maps are designed for Face Off mode only. To answer people!s questions you will be able to add extra players in Private Match. However, through play testing it was we found it too easy to spawn lock players when playing 4v4 on these small maps.

     

    We will continue to review this and there is nothing technically stopping us adding those maps that can support 8 players to other suitable playlists in the future.

     

    Regarding HC Face Off we will happily add these modes to the HC playlist but this will mean replacing the two least popular HC modes. I suggest HC fans play the new game modes first and decide how they wish to proceed. I'll be listening.

     

    Personally, having played the mode it feels different in tone to anything else in the game. Clearly you can all judge for yourselves whether you agree or disagree with my opinion when the mode goes live.

     

    You will all receive 2 maps and the game mode for free. To answer directly a question posed earlier our motivation for distributing two maps free to all was because we think that the FaceOff games are fun and that we wanted to get as many people playing them as possible. Speaking for IW we're just as happy if you have a good time in the free maps as we are if you decide to purchase additional content.

     

    I suggest everyone tries the mode before diving into too much negativity, at least then you'll be informed griping.

     

    I've updated the front sticky with details of the recently released updates for PS3 and PC. More are queued up and coming soon.

    first of all thanks for responding to this subject. However what are IW doing about boosters as they have created a perfect forum for them. Need a certain Emblem/title? - lets go in Face Off and Boost. Need a pro perk? - Lets go in Face Off and Boost etc etc. Especially as they could be adding more prestige levels too...

     

    Now I applaud IW for releasing a few smaller maps as that is what the community seem to like a lot - Shipment, Rust, Nuketown and Dome are VERY popular - but they are popular due to the fast paced, gun on gun, manic action that up to 12 players on these maps provide. Nothing stops players from playing these maps Privately 1v1 or 2v2 AND they can't boost their stats for online playing!

     

    Most evenings I play in a party of 3-4. That means that we can't ALL play together on the same team on any of these maps. I would have much preferred to have had these available for other modes - Team Tactical (minimum) but also FFA and all 6v6 modes too for that crazy action. If IW want to pursue the Face Off playlist and support the boosters then fine they can still keep these maps and add Dome to it too but PLEASE open them up to other modes as well.

     

    You also mention about Spawn Locking but how can that be more of an issue than Rust for example and yet that was one of the most popular maps on MW2! The Spawn system isn't great in even the biggest maps (the amount of time I spawn amongst 2-3 enemies - most notably in the bunker of Liberation!!) so why can this be even more of an issue?

     

    In fact if you were to ask the community what the most popular maps in all CoD games - I am sure you would find all of the small maps in the list but NOT because they play or want to play 1v1/2v2 but because they like the action that small maps and a lot of players provide. Personally I like all sizes of Map but ONLY the small maps have that manic fun and intense action that make them so popular. I want to play them (as they look very nice) with my Friends together online and NOT alienate some because we can't all play together. I thought IW understood that we like to play in Parties and Clans hence - Elite! If people want to test their skills 1v1 or 2v2 then these maps can be played in private but those of us that play in larger parties will NOT be able to play these maps online.

     

    I hope that you can pass on my concerns about boosters as well as ask if they possibly could open them up to more game modes (4v4, FFA and/or 6v6) They could also be interesting for gun game too. I also fully understand that they may not be suitable for certain modes like Ground Wars and maybe not Infected for example either.

     

    It is a major disappointment after expecting 4 maps in may that could ALL be played in Multi-player - but instead we are now only getting 1! The reason the majority of us that buy and play CoD is very under supported and it seems that they are catering more for a select few. I asked a lot of people online yesterday if ANY had done 'Black Ice' or 'Negotiator' and the Majority had not looked at them some had a quick look but I was definitely in the minority of having done both (once) and we are getting MORE??? And now we are also getting some maps that we cannot all play together too??

     

    I know that if these were available in other game modes THEN we would not be quite so disappointed or upset. Collection 2 for those of us that are mainly MP players (the majority) is very under supported!! Only 3 Maps!!!

     

    I am not being negative - just realistic!! As I said most evenings I play with 3-4 (min) others together in a party and we will only be able to play on 1 additional Map for May as opposed to the 4 we were excited and expecting to play!

    Agreed, this face-off mode with have less players in it than barbones most likely lol. And they are taking away two HC modes so really this is not going to go well for anyone. Granted, 2v2 has been asked for a while and I think it would be cool, but lets be honest 1v1 is garbage. That will be all boosters man. Now faceoff maps are exclusive to face-off mode, great but make a freaking 6v6 or 5v5 gametype for it. Sure if your testing spawn locking it's going to happen, but in the real world people aren't going to as much. Why do they constantly do the opposite of what we want. Hey we want big maps lol.

    Seriously, why complain about your k/d when it's clear you don't even understand how it's calculated? It's not a stupid method of stat counting, it is in fact basic mathmatics as others have stated. Seriously, you're pretty dense if you don't understand.

     

    Anyways, Ghandi can you please give me some reply to what I asked last time. Everytime I run up against someone using shotguns (the semi-automatic) as soon as they start firing it jitters/skips my screen as if the fps drops or something. Is this a known issue?
