Killstreaks

Posted by TehMorg on May 6, 2012 5:46 PM

What do you guys want to see in killstreaks? I don't want to see as many killstreaks as there are in MW3 and I don't want to see killstreaks that will promote camping or take time away from your gun on gun gameplay(ex. AC130, Reaper, Chopper Gunner, etc.) They did a good job in Black Ops with it, and I'm hoping they don't stack so that way people don't sit in a corner when they get their Harriers like in Mw2 or helicopter in Mw3. I know they probably won't, but so many things are wrong in Mw3 it makes me worry.

I wanna see killstreaks limited to support killstreaks (uav, emp, sam turret, etc.) and 1 use killstreaks (pred missles, air strikes, strafe run, etc.)

Nothing slows down gameplay and ruins the experience for others more then air support that feels like it lasts forever.

As long as they don't stack like in the Modern Warefare series than I'll be one happy camper ...well, not a camper per se ...you know what I mean.

Pull out a Stinger. Or is it maybe the noise that just bothers you because you actually run Blind Eye on all of your classes? The noise of killstreaks takes away from the peaceful, relaxing experience I guess. Blind Eye isn't good enough we just need to get rid of all the killstreaks. Yeah I think this thread is full of Blind Eye nubs.

X-47 Pegasus was in the trailer. I think it will be like Reaper, or AC-130.

hahaha awesome point with the music. they shuld have a file were u can upload ur own music but yeah nothings worse then everyone being forced to hide in a building due to a chopper gunner. mw3 was alright coz the killstreaks weren't so.... ****...  however the support killstreaks being gained by kill ing enemy's was bs, as was assault was awarded for support roles, they realy got that wrong lmao

The notion that stacking killstreaks makes people camp to get them (and i guess the argument people are trying to make here is that that in turn slows down the game) has been completely destroyed now that we have seen how slow Black Ops was. It actually has the opposite effect. Killstreaks stacking means more killstreaks, which means people die more, which means more people are then respawning and running around trying to reestablish themselves in the game more. No, if your going to argue against stacking killstreaks then just come on out and say that you like a slower, more peaceful game, similar to Black Ops.

We can obviously do away with what was the most horrible idea in cod history, putting trash like a Stealth bomber, EMP in a Support Package or deathstreaks, but more killstreaks are needed to keep people moving. It's cool if you want a slower more peaceful game, but just say that. The fact is, it's way easier for good players to run up scorelines in BO, but that isn't fun after awhile. I like chaos and competition, BO makes me want to bash my own brains out with how dull it is. Blackbird, chopper gunner, dogs. Rinse, repeat.

I don't mind if I die a few more times in mw3 because of random stuff or because more killstreaks are up, because i know others will be dying a few more times too and that keeps people respawning and thus moving and this makes the game more intense and more confrontational. Im firmly of the belief that a lot of people that complain about mw3, started with BO and got used to how peaceful it was, and/or they are the campy nonconfrontational types that get online to have a relaxing, peaceful experience. IW games present a problem for that so we see what we see on here a lot except under the guise of patch this or patch that, remove akimbo, remove machine pistols, remove quickscoping, and on and on we go. These people don't like character in their games, they don't want randomness, they want all of the guns to have the same exact damage, nothing at all can be unbalanced, they really just don't want to have fun.

IW vs 3arc = Confrontational people vs Sittin in a corner makin a PBandJ type people.

They do have a chance here with BO2 to redeem themselves though. Maybe they will run the weener types off for good. Lol. Let em know they don't have a home in treyarch's games anymore either.

Dude, can you break your writing up, it is a wall of bright white letters, I can't read it without my eyes burning. Try using a darker color and breaking it up, many more would read it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will run with this orange color when posting in these BO2 forums from now on. I think it would of been better for them to do it by default though kinda like the MW3 forums, you know to match the theme of the game...

MW/IW = fast action, lots of damage, lots of killstreak spams.

Blackops/3arc = Lower damage, earned killstreaks, more tactical approach to game play.

Both appeal to different people and which is why call of duty continues to be so successful. People play one game and start wanting to play something else, then the next title comes out and delivers it to them. Really is a genius move using two developers who come at the game differently every other year.

Yeah, but see Im kinda a a**hole so I think Im right and every cod should play like I want. Just kidding, it's fine that they do that in the overall year to year scheme of things, but I do hope they liven it up this time around with their version of things.
